  1. 2 used – will use 2 more this week.

After that I may use one to get Hargrave in after R5. R6 if he misses this week. He should have dropped a bit by then with the 9 this week.

    1. Good point. It just didn’t occur to me that someone wouldn’t have used even 1 by now. Gold star for team management, tdm.

it will all come crashing down this week though……

  2. Good news tdm, apparently Dangerfield is a chance to play this week. Tough mutha, he has come out and said he will be pushing for selection this weekend. May miss this week at worst. And thank christ too, as he was my 1 trade so far (bought in last week). I need to do the Riewoldt trade this week also, so Dangerfield recovering so quickly is certainly a bonus. Hello J. Brown. Already have Cyril.

    1. Gotta admire the lad! I also traded him in to free up cash which allowed me to upgrade a very disappointing KT. Like most, i gotta trade Roo. Despite a few juicy low priced prospects i think swapping in a premium is the go. I can see plenty of value/cash cow prospects emerging in the next few weeks and hopefully the couple of underperformers i have can get their shit together. So thats 17 trades left. They disappear fast!

    2. it tippett likely to play too? i’m trying to persevere with him, but him missing some games would force my hand (which is probably a good thing).

        1. Do you have much money left over tdm? And is Tippett in your Ruck or Forward line? There are plenty of options in the forward line and theres a couple of 2nd choice Ruckmen you can snag with a little extra cash.

Personally Id give him the chop, this latest injury is not a good sign on top of all the fallout rumours as a result to his underwhelming performances thus far. Every person Iknow who had him has traded him and felt releived when doing so.

          1. Maybe Motts should make a new Topic “Worst Dual Position Player Traps” Sighting players who deceived coaches with the prospect of the position swap clouding their judgement.

I dare say Tippett would be at the top of the list right now for many coaches. James Kelly may also be up there right now, along with Ladson, Gary Rohan (if u were stupid enough to have him) Waite etc.

            Worth a Tingle Motts?

  3. my forward line i in the shit.
rewoldt murphy medhurst grey ballantyne tippet harvey

i dont know weather to just get brown for rewoldt or get the pav then have money to trade either medhurst or tippet for delicious ciril rioli?? ive only used 1 trade so far and also have bock hamstrung down back…got $30 gs in the bank…struggling!

    1. In your position I would go:
      1. Voldt for Pav and Tippett for Rioli, or
      2. Voldt for Brown and Tippett for Hall…

I am one of the guys who got off Hall last week, but in your situation it might make sense to get on him now, dunno. Medhurst for Cinnamon Rolly is always an option next week / down the track. Personally, I’d get off Tippett before getting off Medhurst, and Brown+Hall seems like a better option than Pav+Rioli. Tough one.

    2. Hoo, I feel for u there Blair. I got rid of Gray last week for Dangerfield which made me bite my fist in anger when I thought his season/career was in jeopardy. Thankfully he is a warrior and im sure the points will flow in the weeks to come.

Cudos on the strength to hold out with Gray, he will have a good year but I hate waiting on Hamstrung players as they seem to have re-occurences more often than not.

Tippett needs to go mate, you really should have done that last week before he plummeted. Ive got Medhurst and can see light at the end of the tunnell. He aint averaging much less than Buddy and they have similiar easy games upcoming after they play eachother this week. (Buddy suspended).

Bring in J. Brown for Roo, it looks the safe option, or you could go with Chappy as Geelong are likely to put Port to the sword in their first home game for the year.

  4. i dont know weather to do the one trade this week or do the double trade

if i was going to do the single trade i would trade roo for brown

if i was going to do the double trade i would trade out roo and medurst and trade in rioli and fev

i prefer the double trade because i think it will set up my forward line for the rest of the year

    my forward line would be

    chapman, rioli, higgins,
    harvey, fev, hall, ballantyne

what is your opinion on this

    1. Roo for Brown. Fev might come good, or he might continue his role of decoy. Personally, I wouldn’t gamble on it if I had the chance to get Brown.

      1. i agree with the spoon. the above forward line looked good last week 843pts but so far its average is 653pts. get jb and save a trade for a 700pt ave. the focus is saving a trade

        0

        0
  5. i would just do the single trade. medhurst may not be providing the huge scores you want, but i don’t think trading him for fev will benefit you. after last year (his inconstancy) i swore never to buy fev again.

i’m not sold on rioli either. last year he was inconsistent. hopefully this year he is better.

  6. Would anyone out there get off Gia for Chappy if you had the coin for it?

His average is 71 at $424,400 having lost $25,700 last week.

(I’m not planning to make the trade this week, but if I did it would mean I’d have Brown, ROK, Chappy and Higgins up forward.)

  7. Motts
Trying to incorporate a trade downgrade of roo with an upgrade for M Clarke to Sandi which eliminates alot of the options for the former. I know youโ€™ve traded him for crooze already however my first SC rule is donโ€™t trade a premium unless its an LTI. Are you convinced the Clarke success story from last year was an aberration due to rucking alone or is he trying to find his niche and will get back to 100+ ave?

    0

    0
    1. Sorry Deano, I replied to this earlier but obviously it didn’t stick for whatever reason. I honestly don’t think Clark will return to the hundreds he was scoring last year. The Brisbane structure has just changed too much: Leuenberger is now rucking and Charman comes back in a couple of weeks, Brownie is now playing up the field because Fev is in the goalsquare – its just a totally different set-up and clearly Clark is struggling to find his niche in it. The fact that he’s been suspended for 2 weeks doesn’t help.

  8. So I have Roo and need to trade him out. Question is do I trade down to a couple of sneaky value picks who will increase in value playing their third games this w’end or consolidate my premium player for another noting I already have Brown. I have some cash @ bank already so not sure whether to bring in a rioli, reimers type of go for ROK? Thoughts?

    1. Bit hard to tell, Adsy. You have to take into account who you have in the rest of your team, how MUCH cash you have, how many trades you have left, and then you’d need to look at the teams you face in the first couple of rounds and whether or not you can beat them with a forward downgrade or if you need the points that ROK will give you.

      1. Hmm, all valid points Motts……Well i’m averaging 2,100 thus far with Brown, Pavlich, Murphy, Ziebell, Peterson & Walker on board with Pods & Rockliff warming the bench.
I’m not playing anyone above me in the league until late in the draw with games against blokes averaging 1,900 & 1,800 in the 1st four weeks.
From looking at the lists, reimers should increase as should cyril (Granted he is injury prone but looks to be hitting his straps) with another couple of blokes yet to play 3-games. So my thinking is should I grab some value now and wait to see who stands out next week (Saving a trade) or bring in ROK now. I used two (2) trades last week as was hurting with Tippett and an injury to Buchanan; it earned me gold however as I brought in one J Brown and Petersen…

        1. Based on that forward line I’d save yourself a trade. Its pretty good already and you’ve probably got more pressing issues elsewhere on your field. There will always be blokes you can trade down to later – either players starting mid-season or players going through a form slump. If you think you’re going to get up against your first couple of opponents then I’d save the trades.

        2. I hate to disagree with Motts (mainly because I am usually proved wrong…think Harvey, think Seaby), but personally I’d ditch the Ziebell for Rioli and ditch Voldt for ROK.

And no, it’s not JUST because then you’d have both ROK & Rioller.

(PS look at your mids too – if you have a bigger weakness than Ziebell there, bring ROK in there and replace your poor performing midfielder with Rioli.)

          1. Fair call as always Mottsy.

Rioli has averaged 72% game time in his 2 games since returning from injury. His average is 111. In the modern game I think it is fair to say your average small forward will play 86% of game time when fit (e.g. Chapman and O’Keefe so far this year). Rioli will get super fit and I think 86% is a very conservative guess. On his current averages that would take him up to 133, which is higher than anyone in the comp apart from Brown and Ablett.

As it stands, Rioli is priced at someone averaging 74.

Rd2: 82 against GEE. Heavily rested. Best 2 aspects of his performance was 9 (NINE) kicks to 1 (ONE) handball and 5 exceptional tackles for someone returning from injury! Hello SC slutness. I wish I could find his kicking accuracy somewhere but having watched his games (though that’s not saying much as I’ve watched ’em all) I reckon it’s pretty high.

Rd3: 140 against WBD. For his time on field, probably the best scorer in the competition in Rd3. Again, a solid 13 kicks as to 11 handballs and 6 fantastic tackles.

He has only been taken by 5.5% of teams.

Ziebell is averaging 69.33 and has been used a very low 65% of the time. To my knowledge he’s been fit. Dunno why it’s so low, whether it’s coach’s choice or whether it will increase. If it did to 86%, you could take the 69.33 to 91. He likes to kick, but I am not convinced his accuracy is as good as Rioli’s. He is in 25% of teams.

I say jump on the Cyril-boat before it departs. His game time and value will sky rocket subject to fitness. Ziebell is up there as a decent long term choice, but my personal choice would be to get on Cyril instead – he’s a likely premium at a bargain basement price.

          2. Spoons
Like your in depth analysis on Delish however I think we need to look beyond the Bulldogs game and be aware that SC is points based not excitement based. He only scored 100+ four times last year for an average of 78.

          3. Too true! And I bet his points per minute on ground so far this year would be about as high as anyone in the comp — if that’s right, I guess it’s just a question on whether or not that will continue.

Round 1: Krakour out – Obrian in
Round 2: Didnt make any trades
Round 3: Tippet out – Zeibell in S, Johnson out – Rioli in

Didnt really want to swap Johnson but had to trade so i could get rioli for tippet plus i got 80k extra to use to upgrade

  11. I’ve used two.
    Hooker->Malceski
    and Tippett->Brown.

I have a predicament though, I have Riewoldt like many others have and am wondering if i should trade him for either Higgins or Rioli. As well I’m pondering if i should use another trade to make it 4 altogether to maybe trade out another player as I am vs’ing the second person in my league.

    -Thanks

    1. I’d take Higgins over Rioli at this point – he’s a proven performer and there’s no ?’s regarding OP for him.
