How Many?

Written by Motts on May 30 2013

Time to take the trade temperature of tempestuous trainers. How many trades will you have left by the time they bounce the ball on Friday night this week?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. Basing your trades on last years, how many trades do we want after the bye rounds? Due to 30 this year our teams are more established upon the ending of the bye rounds therefore maybe 8-10 after they had finished or is that not enough to bring us home?

T/U Have your premium team early and sit on those trades.
T/D be careful throughout the run home.

This question is one that keeps getting brought up on my team as the look of new premiums are great but then you eyes glance over to your trades and you don’t know if that will be enough to steer you home. Help please SCT

  3. 16 …. well, at the first bounce on Friday it’ll probably be 17 as i’ll have got Staker in but not made my Watson trade yet as i won’t need to. I do like the roling lockout.

  5. I will have 19. This is my current team:

Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, B.Goodes, Thurlow, Staker
    (L,Brown, Colquhoun)
Ablett, Pendles, Swan, Cotchin, Priddis, O’Meara, Johnson, Vlastuin
    (Viney, Crouch)
    Maric, Jacobs (Gawn, Daw)
Bartel, Cox, Kennedy, Franklin, Zorko, Naitanui
    (Dwyer, Kerridge)

Plan on probably keeping O’Meara, Vlastuin, Staker (Staker maybe on the bench), but need to upgrade Goodes & Thurlow soonish!
    Hoping my rucks come good.

  6. Anyone have the link/download for that ‘WIDGET” or “ADD ON” thing we had available the last few seasons that would display each player bye round (in the background).
I used it (in conjunction with SC GOLD) and it was brilliant, it would be handy over the next month…

  7. 20 left but team is in disarray….premiums like Swan, Selwood, Waters, Buddy etc all under performing. My highest score was in round one as well! Shows I got it wrong very early on. Salvage mission from here on in starting with Nic Nat this week.

  8. 15 Trades Left…

Goddard, Heppell, Shaw, Birchall, Thurlow, Terlich
    (Docherty, Hutchins)
Ablett, Watson, Swan, Cotchin, Priddis, O’Meara, Gibbs, Vlastuin
    (Kerridge, Crouch)
    Cox, Leuenberger (Gawn, Daw)
Bartel, Kennedy, Franklin, Johnson, ROK, Staker
    (Macaffer, B.Kennedy)

Should I trade Berger this week? 20k short for Nic Nat…..is Maric’s BE still too high? Thinking i should take the risk, Daw has already lost 30k…

  9. 12. Tempting fate yet again. Will this fish ever learn?

Burnt trades early trading out Watts (yeah, I know), Suban, Rich and Steven. The trade button will be worn out by the end of the byes and I’ll most likely have all of 6 or 7 left for the year. Hopefully with the way I have it set up I’ll be able to cover any week to week dramas with mid/def, mid/fwd & fwd/def DPPs and hold tight until finals time. Hopefully Goodes, Staker & Moloney can do the job until then.

LTIs are obviously the big worry. I’ve dodged a couple of bullets already opting for Goldstein instead of Berger & Stevie J instead of Daisy. Sacrificing Relton to the SC gods seems to have worked so far but I may have to track down Missy to keep my out of trouble for the rest of the year.

  10. Good to see most people on 14 trades.
I thought I might be the minority.
PS is that how you spell minority, doesn’t look right.

  11. A lot of people are left with 12 or 13 trades. A rule I try to follow is to not trade at all in the first 6 rounds and stick with what you picked at the start. It’s unlucky if you get a LTI (Varcoe for me) or at least do 2 trades max for this time period.
This way you don’t do any side way trading and have more trades towards the end of season.
After round 6 I use about 20 trades in a row to complete the side and use the rest for finals.
I know it’s hard not to trade at the start of the year but its a very effective strategy

  12. 18 trades & $258,000 large in the bank for the bye rounds for Catta’s Clan…..

Currently sitting 2787th with a 9/10/11 bye structure including a 5/5/7 premium structure & looking to maximise premium’s scores…..I hope!

Hoping to break into the top 1000 by R13 & join a few of the other SCT coaches already there!

  13. Including my two trades this week, I’m down to 15 and $136k. 5 upgrades still to go, but should be done by the end of the bye rounds.
