 Sam Jacobs  Knee  Test
 Tom Lynch  Hamstring  Test
 Updated: Tuesday, May 28

Early prognosis

Crouch and Lynch will have to complete main training on Thursday to be considered for Saturday night’s encounter with Melbourne in Darwin. Crouch has missed the past two games with a small muscle tear in the abdominal area near his hip, while Lynch had a low-grade hamstring strain that forced him to miss last week’s 12-point loss to West Coast. Jacobs will also be assessed this week to see if he will play his first game since round two. The experienced ruckman is likely to return through the SANFL having had surgery to his right knee in April. – Lee Gaskin

 Travis Varcoe  Suspension  Available
 Daniel Wells  Knee  13 weeks
 Updated: Tuesday, May 28

Early prognosis

Wells has again been cruelled by a long-term injury, and there’s a possibility Langdon could also be set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines. However, the Pies are hopeful they will regain stars De Goey, Cox and Moore for the clash with Fremantle at the MCG on Saturday. They will also have the option of bringing back Varcoe, but will be without Adams and Elliott for at least another fortnight. Tyler Brown, Appleby and Tohill are nearing returns, but Murphy’s recovery has been slow and Kelly suffered a hamstring tendon injury in the VFL. The season seems over for veteran Dunn after a second anterior cruciate ligament rupture in nine months. – Ben Collins

 Jake Stringer  Hamstring  2-3 weeks

Early prognosis

Stringer has added to the Bombers’ injury woes, and while Shiel has not yet been ruled out of playing against Carlton on Sunday, Essendon will play that conservatively with the star midfielder. 1. Argh, Crouch. Hoping he gets up, starting to really hurt having a midfield premo on the bench.

    2. doubt he’ll play , its not finals ,
if rocky does play , with his injury history , he will probably be managed ,
maybe play fwd with limited TOG ,
@ the start of the season , port would have penciled him in for a couple of weeks off around the byes period , regardless of an injury ,
enjoy the moo shoo big fella

    1. Don’t think so, Bryson. Talking Footy reported last night that he now is having hamstring issues. Because he’s been such an asset this year I think they’ll take it really conservatively with him.

          1. Was leaning towards Ryan, but might go all in and grab J Kelly while I can still get him.
            Brought Lloyd in last week.
Can get him with Moore and Drew
That will have me at full premo mids (inc Dunkley atm) and only having to field 1 rookie in Fwds.
Have good cover for R12 & R13. Need to focus the def line for R14

  2. I do not trust that Rockcliff will play but I suppose they wouldn’t fly him there otherwise. Hmmm.

  3. Crouch is an absolute killer atm. They said he was a chance to play the week after he got injured, now it’s dragged out to a two, possibly a three weeker. Not going near the bloke again. Burned me last season and I clearly didn’t learn from my mistakes this season.

  5. Hard for the Roos to shop for premo players , when they’re HQ is a rusty shed , with a paint job
Not to mention the bugger all supporters , that don’t even bother turning up to games , even when they’re winning
I like the Roos , but honestly , do they really have a long term future as an AFL club if they stay @ Arden st ?
Maybe as a VFL club or in Tassie they could grow

    1. Dear PJ
You obviously haven’t been anywhere near Arden Street the last few years.
Gone are the ‘rusty sheds with a paint job’ and replaced with the same sort of facilities that you will currently find at any of the other Victorian Clubs.
We may have less supporters than most clubs but you don’t hear about ours fighting, spitting, brawling and so on with other supporters
I would encourage you to visit the North Melbourne website and view the redevelopement of not only the ground but the Arden Street precinct in full so that once done our facilities will be the equal of the interstate clubs as well.
Finally, if you are concerned regarding North’s long term viability considering we are now in the best financial position in the last decade (said by Ben Buckley just this week), so since we have got thru the tough times we won’t be going anywhere.

        1. Well keep your opinion to yourself PJ. I don’t login here to read someones gloom and doom opinion about the club I support. Not needed!
