Tyson‘s tough start to his career at Arden St continues, with confirmation he will miss at least another month. He was first held out with calf tightness but suffered a recurrence in the VFL a fortnight ago. McDonald and Thompson will both have to pass fitness tests to return to the senior side, while Marley Williams was managed last week and should be right to go. Defenders McKay and Murphy will also hope to be available for VFL selection this weekend. – Marc McGowan

Early prognosis

Initially slated to miss four weeks with a broken hand, Gray is a chance to return after just two and face Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval on Sunday. It would be a much-needed boost to a growing injury list at Alberton. Burton is out for up to a month with a hamstring strain, Jonas will miss a fourth straight game with a calf injury and Ebert will have more tests to determine if he’s right to return from concussion. But there are two bits of good news – the Power finally have a firm timeline on Dixon’s return from a badly broken leg and dislocated ankle, and ruckman Sam Hayes will play in the SANFL this weekend in his first game in almost 12 months after a torn ACL. The Power are aiming for Dixon to make his comeback after the mid-season bye. – Lee Gaskin

Early prognosis

Despite David Astbury and Oleg Markov now being fully fit, Richmond’s injury list stays at 12, with Nankervis and Ross added after suffering serious injuries against Fremantle. Nankervis has torn a muscle and some tendon off the bone, while Ross needs surgery for a syndesmosis injury. Vlastuin and Rioli are likely to play this week while Grigg has officially hung up the boots after persistent knee and hip injuries. Short has only just come out of his elbow brace after dislocating it, while Riewoldt is expected to start jogging possibly at the end of next week. The club is aiming for a round 11 return for skipper Cotchin. – Sarah Black |

A first appearance for Hannebery since he was traded to the Saints at the end of last season is in sight. The skipper, Geary, is on a similar timeline after a gruesome surgery that saw his right thigh sliced open. Important defender Carlisle could be back after the bye. – Dinny Navaratnam

The Eagles should be bolstered by Rioli and Hickey’s returns, with the duo only needing to get through training on Tuesday night to be available to play. There is a watch on Will Schofield after a heavy bump against St Kilda, with the experienced defender absent from training on Monday. Cameron should be available to return in the WAFL on Thursday night. – Travis King

English was a late withdrawal against Brisbane at Mars Stadium on Saturday and replaced by Fletcher Roberts. The ruckman has been managing several knocks from the round seven demolition of Richmond and still has work to do at training to prove his fitness. Jong nearly featured at VFL level on Sunday and should be raring to go this Saturday at Whitten Oval. – Paul Bastin

*Placed on the club’s long-term injury list
North’s list always lacks the structure of the other lists. Seems a fitting metaphor for our season.
Haha. Killed it RB!
Port’s list makes me so sad. It’s like the footy gods went out and specifically picked off our most important players.
Only key forward? yeah he’s out.
Two captains? Why bother, they’re both out.
Vice Captain? Forget you ever had one.
Biggest star of the club? Nah you don’t need that.
Previous vice-captain and club leader? Gone.
Feel good story of round 1 and potentially year? lol nope.
And to think Richmond are even worse off!
And Melbourne. I count 9 best 22 players currently out and for decent stints too.
