  1. Anyone know about Cummins job secruity? Smashes everyone in points per minute but had limited game time in JLT. Barely in any teams too.

    1. Zac,

      I was thinkin’ the same.
But then i was thinkin’ don’t rank a sprinter for a marathon.
Perhaps we need to look at those guys that played say,…..at least 70-75 TOG to get a better judgement and to assess their selection chances.

    2. If he’s named I’ll be starting him as it will likely mean he’s in their best 22. No one on the injury list plays that small HB/utility role. Have looked at him and he is LOVED at the Giants. Elite foot skills and may get a % of kick-in duties.
My concern is that they may feel he is not quite be AFL-ready. Hence managed TOG in JLT, but it did increase from 39 to 65% in JLT2, which is encouraging. That’s also up there with his TOG% in the two games he played last year.
Full pre-season has to be a positive.

      1. Agree AllSaints. Rookies named are either in best 22 or warming a seat for someone injured / suspended. I reckon Cummings has a good chance to start and is better than let’s say Collins, who was a gun at VFL but is more expensive and will be a slow cash cow. He can prove me wrong.

  2. Thoughts on Duursma’s job security? Everyone seems to have him but I assumed it was Hartletts seat he’s been keeping warm. Who else goes out when hammer comes back in? At this stage I’m leaving him out for now but if he’s still playing come round 3 I might need to find space.

  3. I wonder about the mortality rate of rookies who get smashed in round 1. i.e. Port name 4+ newbies who then get massacred by Melbourne. Do they get sacrificed?

    1. I have 2 of them but I don’t feel great about it. I’ve been a fan of Drew for a few years now so hope he gets a good run.

  4. Bailey Smith will debut for the Dogs, and it sounds like Hately will get a game too. What do we do now, Mr Huttabito?

    1. Smith a little pricy for me, especially with Walsh running around for a little bit extra. Hard to go with 2 in that upper price bracket and didn’t particularly excite me.

Hately is interesting, looked the goods JLT1 but looked a touch more off the pace in JLT against a stronger Sydney side. Tough run for a first timer WCE, Rich and Geel in the first 4 games. Ward is 3/4 weeks away, Kelly is unknown? Might be just a tad to many question marks for me.

  5. How do people feel about Wilkie? Decent points per minute, good JS with the defensive issues at the Saints?

    1. Think Joyce is a safer pick (JS) but if Wilkie plays he will definitely outscore him, but not sure he’ll play for long enough!
This is a brutal year for rookies. Truly. Brutal 🙁

      1. Thanks, he’d be D8, might consider the security over ceiling given my R3 is my loophole. Nothing wrong with a slow burn sometimes.
