2013 Byes

JP Kennedy v Mitchell

by Motts on April 26, 2012

In honour of the big game that will take place in the Apple Isle this week I’ve thrown two of the biggest names from both teams up against each other. One on his way up, the other well and truly already there. Both would look superb in your M3 spot.

Who would you take?

I love JPK as a footballer, but if they were the same price I would get Mitchell everyday. They are both superb footballers but Mitch will avg 5 points more by years end even if he can struggle under a hard tag.

“if they were the same price” …. but they’re not the same price

Josh Kennedy looks like he’s the real deal now.

I’d have to go with Mitchell also. Hawks will win more games this year and their mid-field has a better supply off their running back-line (Suckling, Birchall, Hodge etc…)

Were does the undisciplined tag come from Hugh?

I’ll back the Hawks to be 3-2 after Sunday which will have the Swans at 4-1 and I’ll back us to catch that up too.

It might be worth considering the Hawks have played Collingwood, Geelong and West Coast (all potential top 5 sides). While it remains a worry Hawthorn can’t win those close games against top teams, they are still a flag favorite and above Sydney at the moment.

Yes he’ll outscore Sidebum, but is Mitchell your best choice. I think those i’ve listed below are all more likely to go big than Mitchell vs Swans.

Murphy (nearly perma-captain material)
Thompson vs Port
Goddard vs Melbourne
Swallow vs GC
Selwood vs Brisbane

Boyd v GWS for me
Hopefully he’ll rack up 45 possessions

which should equal about 120 for him

For me it’s going to be between Selwood, Goddard, Swallow and Ward. Have Murphy too but think the others could all go 150+.

Would love to know what most people are going to do with Mumford? Considering it as it is a lot of cash to have on the bench with Ablett as well.

And if you have Cox as well in the rucks do you just downgrade Mumford to a rookie such as Stephenson and use the $500k elsewhere as Giles is doing well enough to potentially stay in the team on the field all year?

Thumbs up – Say goodbye to Mummy?
Thumbs down – Keep the faith?

Comment – That downgrade seems tasty.

I’ve got both Cox and Mumford, and the thought has crossed my mind a couple of times. But really, it becomes a case of using 2 trades, gaining no extra premiums. Mumford will come good, and I’m confident this will be the last week he misses with the back infection. He has the ability to pump out scores of 140+, which occurred 5 times last year, even reaching the heights of 165 and 170 in back-to-back weeks (against StKilda and Geelong if you don’t mind!). I’m going to keep the trades and stick by my preseason call of 2 premium rucks.

Ha, just noticed in Round 17 last season against Freo he didn’t even get a kick and still registered 118 points. :O

Yeah that’s what I was considering. It has cut me slightly that I went the safer option and it has backfired to this stage. But oh well, that is life as a supercoach.

That fact alone makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, glad i kept him.

Look out for Broughton to do a shut down job on both Murphy and his own score.

Just so everyone knows, the herald sun said that mumford has just had surgery and will be out for up to 3 to 4 weeks.

“He is recovering well and we expect him to resume training in around seven days, with a view to have him available for selection in the next three to four weeks,” football manager Dean Moore said.

Who thinks Smurf might go nuts on the open spaces of Subiaco and would it be wise to make him ElCapitanno now that perma GAJ is out for a couple. Tag or no tag

its a tough one Dazza, crowley is a pretty good tagger, seems to get under his opponents skin, though in saying that like u said murph will have heaps of room to get plenty of touches, gets alot of of touches by spreading well at stoppages.

so in other words i got no idea, just thought i throw in my 2 cents
