Chatting to Martin, coach of the Killer Cats, on Facebook last night and he’s got something on his mind.
He’s thinking of trading Murphy in favour of Stanton, then with the cash he frees up trading Giles up to Mumford.
The question begs, does Judd’s suspension help or hinder Murphy in terms of SC? Chances are he’ll get a bit more of a tag placed on him and there’ll be less support in the centre …. what do you guys think?

So from what I understand he’s trading Stanton and Giles for Murphy an Mumford?

Martin, why are you still playing this game? Can’t you see our relationship is hitting rocks? Do you even care about me? </3

I suspect the one who’ll benefit most from the absence of Judd is gonna be Mitch Robinson. With recent injuries to Carrazzo and Murphy, as well as Scotland’s reliance on a zimmer frame, I reckon Mitch will be the one getting stuck hard into the clearances and contests. I’m tipping a 120+ for him this week!

It’s not exactly a large sample size, but here are the numbers:
Since Murphy became a SC premium four seasons ago, Judd has missed only four games. The breakdown of Murphy’s scores follows:
R1 2010 – 119 vs Richmond – He did not get tagged, Carlton won (by 56) – He had 24 touches and kicked 2 goals – His SC was 7 up on his season average however his DT was 6 down, indicating that he did get less of the ball, but still used it well
R2 2010 – 145 vs Brisbane – He got tagged by a combo of Stiller and Patful, Carlton lost (by 19) – He had 34 touches and kicked 1 goal – His SC was 33 up on his average, his DT was up only 10, again indicating a quality use of the ball
R3 2010 – 105 vs Essendon – He got tagged by Welsh, Carlton lost (by 20) – He had 23 touches – His SC was 7 down on his season average, while his DT was 21 down, indicating the same a R1
R6 2012 – 89 vs GWS – He got tagged by McDonald, Carlton won (by 67) – He had 27 touches – His SC 16 down, while his DT was only 5 down
So, overall, he has played a 2-2 record from a team point of view. He has been tagged 3 of the 4 games. His SC is an average of 4 up on his season averages, while his DT is 5.5 down on his season average. It tends to make you think that in the next four he is likely to get tagged more often than not and his SC will be similar, despite getting less ball. That’s what the numbers say at least, however…
The one thing that I really don’t like is Carlton’s next four opponents. You would be pretty confident that he will get Picken, Jackson, Jack and Raines which is pretty ugly. I’d be avoiding him, hope that he has a poor end to 2012 and locking him in as one of your first picked for season 2013

I’d get Murphy after this week-end, Picken will take him to the cleaners this round. With his BE being 139, wait a week & pick up Murph Sunday night for $440-$450,000…….cheap cheap!
