  1. Lads, had a shocker for Round 1 and will have many holes to fill with some rookies not going to be selected, so was thinking of
    Bont,Dunk,Roberton,Cavarra & starcevich > Neale,Howe,Viney,Sturt & C.Taylor
With no need to save trades I’d look to go Viney > Dunkley in a few weeks when Viney bottoms out.

    TU – Pull that trigger
    TD – Find another approach

    1. What about Bont,Roberton,BZT & Cavarra > Viney, DBJ, Rivers & Sturt(if fit)
      is this more viable?

      TU – Yes
      TD – No

If not, suggestions would be recommended

      1. I like the DBJ pick mate. I was very close to selecting him over Houston. Should be a nice POD. If you take that dirty 7 out of his average last year, he had a very healthy ave after the bye. Good luck with the decision bud

    1. I’d find a way to get Ceglar into your forward line mate and swing him into the rucks for this week (assuming you have Comben). Only issue is that Ceglar plays on Fri night and Naismith plays on the Sunday. So will have to make the decision whether to play Ceglar at R2 before knowing if Naismith is out for sure.

    1. Seems like he had a foot niggle in round 1 mate. I’d be happy to hold but wouldn’t blame anyone for moving him on either.

    1. I’m struggling with the love for Viney. He had a once in a career score, has never averaged over 100 (I do recall a FD article about averages reverting to the long term norm), and may make you 130-140k at best. If you are bringing him in in this shortened year, you have to be doing so in the belief he is a finals keeper.
      Trap of the year !!!

      1. Not sure I posted that in the right spot…..getting in early with a chardy before tonight’s game.

        1. Better have one or three for me Wighty, coz apparently I’ve been dumped to the public leagues for a “late” trade.

  2. Houston>Howe
B O Conner > T Rivers, keeping BZT on bench for later
If naismith is out, then Comben>Cameron (but may have to pull trigger now)

    TU or TD?

  3. Hey guys. I’m finding it hard to split Fort and Long. Forts JS worries me and I’m also concerned that Hunter Clarke may be the main distributor down back for the saints. Assuming both play this week, who would you trade in? Cheers guys, DR ✌️
    TU: Long
    TD: Fort

    1. I like Townsend DR

99 on debut for the Bombers.

He is a bit cheaper,$220K JS is sound.

I think he can at least make some quick cash $$$

      1. I’m so close to getting him in for 2-3 weeks given the trade situation this year. Its him or wingard/heeney/walters, but sit on the cash for a big double trade next week.
He could however spud 40 as he needs to kick goals to score.

      2. Hey FT how are you mate? I always appreciate your thoughts and advice! I considered Townsend and I like his price point so much better. Fort and Long are at such an awkward price. My main concern with Town was that he kicked 3 goals in round 1 and am worried that he will be reliant on kicking multiple goals each week to score. In his role as a pressure forward, what would you be expecting as a rough average mate?

        1. This five trade week is a ripper….including myself, never seen so many different approaches/options to one week of trades.

Reckon SC should give us 5 trades every R2 in the future.

          T/U Yes
          T/D No

        2. Hi DR, I would only bring in a 250k + guy if no decent rookies are available on that line. Is TOWNSEND that guy? The question is: if he was a midField rookie/cheapie would you pick him? Would the cash génération be close to 150k? Bewley in my opinion has more upshot but his role may change. Do you already have him?

          1

        3. Hey DR

Nice to be back, Hope you have been well mate.

I’m hoping for 75+ but that sounds a bit rich, given what you say about his role.
I thought he was playing more a high half forward role and managed to snag a few first up. It seems so long ago now.
McKernan back in should be a positive. As long as he can go 65+ for the next few weeks, He should make $100K easy.

I’m thinking with the lack of quality $123K Rookies, and less rounds means effectively, we get more trades.

For me that reduces the price of a trade to more like $100k.
With this in mind, I plan to offload most of my Cows or Cow like objects earlier than usual.

Of course we need the downgrade targets, but I don’t want to hang onto cows for an extra couple of weeks for the sake of $40K or $50K.

Hopefully I can pick the right rookie downgrades and few other low priced winners 😉

Best of luck for the rest of the weekend !

  4. OPTION 1
    Dunkley-Viney
    Brayshaw-Ceglar
    BZT-Howe
    ZGuthrie-Rivers
    Cavarra-Sturt

    OPTION 2
    Dunkley-Neale
    Roberton-Howe
    BZT-Sturt (DPP)
    ZGuthrie-Rivers
    Green-Bennell

    TU – Option 1
    TD – Option 2

    3

    17
  5. OUT – BZT, MacPherson, Brayshaw, Cavarra
IN – Rivers, Howe (via DPP), D.Smith, Sturt

    $135,000 remaining

Would leave my Noble at D6 but my forward line with 4 rookies on field (Sturt, Taylor, Brander & Budarick)

Or I can also trade Green > Bennell and get Heeney!

    1. Worp the line.

      Bewley should play this week.

His JS is a little shakey after that, with both S Hill and Acres nearly ready to return.

I like Townsend from the Bombers.

      R1 99
      $ 222 900.
      B/E -14

He should average 75+ and make some pretty decent cash $$

Best of luck with what ever you decide.

      1. I’m a bombers tragic….75+….can you promise me that FT ? Reckon there’s two goals a game at least to get that.
Whats his future if Tippa and Oraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazia are both fit ?

        1. Yeah. Completely agree with, Wighty.

75 is waaaay too optimistic for Townsend. There’s merit to bringing him in, but I wouldn’t set expectations that high.

      2. That’s a lot of faith in a pressure forward playing for essendon who’s been in the league for 9 year and has played over 4 game sin a season once in last 6 seasons

  7. Last trade need help deciding

    TU: D. Robertson -> Benell
TD: Coniglio -> Viney + extra $ in the bank

  8. Making the most of these trades and going:

    Tom Green > Bennell
BZT > Townsend via Brander DPP
    Brayshaw > Heeney
Oliver > Viney (only other choice was Dunkley, and I prefer Dunkley).

I’ve got Rivers on the bench and 40k spare, I’ve decided to hold onto Roberton as he at least has some JS, and won’t drop..too much… if he has a respectable outing.

    1. Hey, Jov.

Are you able to do the first 3 trades without dropping Satan Oliver? Demons got a soft draw, expecting him to pop off.

  9. Would love to hear what you guys reckon:

In – Heeney, Howe, Struct, McInerney

Out – Bont, Roberton, BZT, Green

    TU – Do it
    TD – Don’t

    1. Do you think Heeney is a good pick or not really

Here is my team (with the above trades)

DEF – Lloyd, Laird, Doc, Howe, Noble, Brander (Worell, Gould)

Mid – Macrae, Neale, J.Kelly, Cripps, Heeney, Rowell, Picket, McInerney, (Brown, Robertson, Close)

      RUCK – Gundy, Cameron (Naismith)

FWD – Whitfield, Martin, Cegular, Smith, Struct, Taylor (Comben, Budarick)

  10. Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing well. Thoughts on my current trades?
    Bont, Luke Ryan, 3 rookies > Viney (M5), DBJ/Howe, Greenwood, 2 rookies

    TU – Do it!
    TD- Don’t

  11. Last trade again cause Sturt didn’t make it in time rip

TU: Coniglio -> Neale / 46K$ in bank
TD: Coniglio -> Viney / 270K$ in bank

    9

    4
  12. Making a massive move and bringing in Ed Langdon (Dees)
It’s his new club and scored 120. His last 4 games of last season were all above 100. Priced at 466k is it worth the punt with a large change of the Melbourne team this week?

    6

      1. Im probably going to go with it as this is a completely different season with nothing to lose

        5

  13. Need to find a way to cover for Naismith and BZK out:

Conroy, BZK, Brayshaw, Dunkley —> Cameron, Howe, Long, Viney

    TU: Do it
    TD: Too many traps

  14. I have a last minute question: Does anyone know WTF Simon Goodwin is doing with his team selection?

    4

    1. Towner needed 3 goals to score well in R1 with no midfield time. Long had a SC friendly fole off HB in R1. Definitely go Long.

  15. Hey Community,
Team is in a bit of a shambles and don’t wanna ditch a premo to Viney for cash. (Let me know if you think I should)
Have done 2 corrective rookie trades (BZT to Rivers and Green to McHenry) I now have 760k and plan on trading Roberton and Brayshaw..
    T/U – Howe and Long
    T/D – Greenwood/Petracca and Doedee

    5

    3
  16. I can’t believe it, I am even thinking about doing 5 trades after 1 rd. And I don’t think it’s too crazy… or maybe I am delusional??

    TU:
Out: L. Ryan, Robertson, Brayshaw, T. green, BZT
In: Hurn, Peracca, Doedee, Rivers, Bennel

    TD: Get your head checked!!

    16

    2
  17. Doing some corrective trades here.

Trading Out – Lukosius, BZT, Bedford, Cavarra

    Trading in –
T/U – Long, Bewley, Rivers, Sturt. Fixes some issues in my FWD structure.
T/D – Viney (or a FWD in the 400-450K range), Rivers, Sturt, and save a trade.

Does it still make sense to trade in Sturt even though he’s out?

    1

    3
  18. How crazy am I….

    Gary Ablett Jnr.

1% ownership – POD as all hell.
    Top 4 fwd last year.
Getting on a bit, but….shortened quarters.
    Tim Kelly gone.
Plays 3 of the next 4 at GMHBA. Fourth game is at the G.
Next four opponents are Hawthorn, Carlton, Melbourne, Gold Coast.

Seriously considering the little master as an alternative to Viney/Heeney/Wingard.

    8

    1
  19. Need to trade BZT..
Houston > Doedee keeps me from trading Dunkley.

Slim pickings with 417k in the bank.

    TU: Crozier
    TD: Milera
Comment: Anyone under 417k that will give me some value for money

    0

    4
    1. Wouldn’t bother with anyone around the 400k mark, you’re better off looking at Doedee or going all the way down to a rookie and banking some money for a future trade.

      2

      0
  20. Hey all, I need some advice on my trades. Keeping Bont means I’ll be fielding 3 forward rookies this week, with Doedee as D4. Keeping Brayshaw allows me to field 1 forward rookie, which means Bennell starts at M8 and Brander D6.

I’m most likely bringing Viney in, which means he’s M6 in the first option, and M5 in the second option.

    TU – Bont and Doedee
    TD – Brayshaw and Greenwood

    11

    1
  21. Who to trade out… both are not playing this week but who is more likely to play in future. I need players that are actually going to be on the park.

    T/U M Georgiades
    T/D B Davis

    9

    7
  22. TU- Titch into Gawn. If titch gets a 110-120 would be awkward.
TD-Gawn into J Kelly. Gawn goes big, no worries, if he spud’s it up J Kelly should match Grundy.

So all depends on the likely hood of Titch going 140+

    3

    5
  23. Need to get BZT out and stuck with willimas gould and green so looking at these 5 trades.

    BZT > Sicily
    Williams > Rivers
    Gould > Taylor
    Brayshaw > Bennel
    Green > Xerri

    TU: do it
    TD: Theres something better

    5

    4
  24. Who’s the better option at F4 to replace Brayshaw

    TU: Petracca
TD: Ceglar (Keeping in mind DPP swing with Jacobs at R2 and Cameron R3)

    4

    6
    1. Brander’s the safe bet imo. Eagles should do the Suns dirty. Dees will opt to distribute via the more experienced Jetta, May, Salem, Jones or Lever rather than Rivers – won’t get the service he needs for a field worthy score.

      3

      0
  25. So this week I’m going Green to Bennell and Roberton to Rivers but for the last trades…

    T/U:
    Macrae to Danger
    Davis (Ade) to Ceglar
    2k in the bank

    T/D
    Davis to Bewely
    123k in the bank

    2

    5
    1. Hey, Elias.

I voted T.D. Think Bewley’s a really solid pick (wish I backed myself in and selected him after touting him my Marsh Series watchlists) and you should NOT trade out Macrae. Danger’s, yes, going to have a huge month (Blues, Dees, Suns) but Macrae is so consistent and will be the #1 MID by the season’s end no questions asked.

      2

  26. Hey guys, passed on bloody Stewart and Howe, don’t ask why, contemplating Brodie smith to Nick haynes now… thoughts? Anyone else around that price? Trying to not go over 500 because I’m going to go BZK to doedee
