    1. From a team performance, the Blues were actually quite impressive last night. Dow didn’t set the night on fire but he’d be stiff to be dropped after only one game. Surely they have more patience with him than that

      1. I’m keeping him. He was named emergency and I think they would want to give him a go. He will play next round I reckon. And if worst comes to worst and he hasn’t been named by round 3 you can swap him for a rook that is gunna jump in price. Waste of a trade maybe but worth the risk I reckon.

        1. You better go read fathers cow rules. Never ruin a chance at a downgrade target by starting with a rookie who isn’t playing but will later in the season

    1. Got Finlayson already? Can always play him in the mids and pick another DEF rookie like a Murphy or Naughton if you don’t have them.

  3. I currently have all of the following rookies:
    DEF – Finlayson, Doedee,
    Murray, Naughton,
MID – Holman, Banfield, Brayshaw, Barry, Garlett, Kelly,
    FWD – Giles-Langdon, Ryan, Fitsch.

I need one more DEF or MID rookie. Who should I choose?

      1. DEF: Lachlan Murphy has been selected on-field for Adelaide, but not sure what his JS is. If O’Connor makes the final cut with the Cats he’s probably a better option.

FWD rookies don’t exist in 2018.

          1. Fritisch on field maybe. Others are a scoring worry. Unless you have Garlett last night. Ryan has better JS in my opinion.

          2. Tongue in cheek, mate. Waterman viable due to JJK’s injury concerns. Tebs already has Fritsch, Ryan and ZGL. Not sold on Venables, Stephenson or Fogarty.

  4. I feel like I’m missing something, neither Olango or Cameron are named in their respective teams, any thoughts on replacements?

    1. Captains loopole.

Here are Jack’s notes on how to do it.
Step 1: Put Olango on the field.
      Step 2: Make Olango captain.
Step 2a: Make sure you select the ruckman who is now on your bench as an emergency. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!
Step 3: Make your preferred option vice-captain. MAKE SURE HE PLAYS BEFORE WEST COAST!
Step 4: If you are happy with the score your vice-captain pumps out, you can stop here. If you’re not, then continue on to step 5…
Step 5: Make another player (who is yet to play) captain. This way, you get two stabs at a good captain’s score. Remember, you MUST do this BEFORE West Coast plays.
Step 6 (OPTIONAL): If both are yet to play, you can swap Olango and your actual ruckman around if you want, since you no longer need Olango on the field. This is entirely optional – as long as the ruckman on your bench is selected as an emergency, it won’t matter one way or the other.

        1. Lesley

The point is for him not to be named by the side. By placing him on the field with Captain Status,
          1. It give you two chances at your choice of Captain (VC/C)
          2. Your Ruck Emergency points count

Have a read of the notes above again. Good luck 🙂

      1. Unless you have 3 playing rucks all with the same bye, rucks having the same bye shouldn’t sway your decision. When considering bye structure, consider all keepers instead of a particular line

  5. Tried this in the coaches box but I got no traction.

Can I clarify, are Zac Langdon and Zac Giles-Langdon the same person???
AFL team list and GWS website has Zac Langdon (and no Zac Giles-Langdon)
SC has no Zac Langdon but they do have a Zac Giles-Langdon.

    Argh!!!!!

  6. How has Nic Nat been going?
I’m tossing up between him and Ryder. If it wasn’t for the rd 10 bye I’d be locking in Ryder.

    1. Depends on what your goal is.
If you only care about winning your league then keep him in and save the trade.

If you care about overall standing then I would probably drop him as it is a lot of money to be sitting on the sideline.

  7. F2 spot. (buddy, _____, smith, sicily)

    TU: Walters, (bank 75k)
    TD: Billings (bank 43.8k)

Walters helps free up more cash for cogs to danger jump r5 or r6.

  8. I’m concerned about the JS of Darcy Fogarty, should I…

    TU: upgrade to Josh Dunkley

TD: keep Fogarty, he’ll be fine and bank the $150k to get Danger sooner

  9. So English has been short listed to play on the bench for Sunday. What’s his JS like? Will he get enough games to rise in value?
TU wil be a good link with Cox in the fwd line
TD waste of money will only ave between30 -40 and won’t raise enough cash

    1. Selected him to be my permanent RUC/FWD loophole Swingman with Mason Cox and now he’s bloody playing!

Given the scarcity of ruck rookies, i can’t bring myself to swap him out. I’m just going to have to go without a loophole this year!

  11. Who to take as a r3? Cameron played JLT but didnt even make the emergency cut. English costs more and is a chance to play or do i go left field and pick Mcinerney (BRIS) 123k is named as emergency and is 203/4cm. Improving his fwd 50 play atm but didnt play JLT but was named emergency and Archie was nowhere.
McInerney, signed a two-year extension, won the Lions’ NEAFL best and fairest in 2017, booting 26 goals while averaging 14 disposals, 24 hit-outs and four marks per game
I want someone who is a chance of making money as i dont need the a loophole as i have faith in my captain. If they cover round 10 that would be incredible

    TU English
    TD Mcinerney
    Comment: Cameron

    1. “Tim English: The Dogs are optimistic the second-year ruckman will have more impact this season. At 208cm, the 20-year-old has added much needed bulk to his once slim fame and appears ready to build on his two career games to date. Just as adept at ground level as he is in the air. ” Source AFL web site

    1. Way too many options, it’s doing my head in. So many with dicey JS but you just know a handful will stick around due to injuries, great performances and what not.

I can just feel I’ll get the wrong one!

  15. Keeffe is not playing. I already have Fritsch. I don’t trust Fogarty’s job security. Who to start at F8?

  17. Which Defensive Rookie do I choose to fill out my Team?
    Z. Guthrie
    M. O’Connor
    L. Murphy

I can afford Guthrie but I’m not sure about the job security of any of them.
    Thoughts?

  18. As I have Sicily in defence, Keeffe not playing is a real nuisance for me, because I wasn’t just planning on using him as a cash cow – he was going to serve a very useful structural purpose.

TU: Keep him at F8. He’ll probably play soon enough, and, like you said, he suits your structure.
TD: Swap him for one of Liam Ryan or Zac Giles-Langdon. Were you not listening when Father Dougal said to never waste a good downgrade target by starting them!?

        1. Two zeroes in the first week will hurt you later on. Get rid of Keeffe, follow Father D’s rules of cowquisition

        1. He scored good in one game when roughy was injured early so he rucked the rest. But with roughy back, english in and boyd unsighted im not sure he will get much ruck work unless injury strikes again

            1. I’ve ended up upgrading him. I think he will do well, but I am probably going with Sicily because of the Fwd/def DPP. Also, enough forward cows I feel you can take make a mid pricer harder to justify. Team reveal didn’t surivie the real life team reveals! Still have Cox though! 🙂

In my SuperCoach “team window” my players don’t have their prices on . How can I change this ???

  20. Starting to cool on Sicily for my team and now starting to look elsewhere.

Kid81 alerted us to Dunkley a week back . Hard to deny the logic.

Lobb was one of my first picked pre-season and then disappeared so i looked elsewhere. Seemingly from nowhere he’s back as GWS’ first ruck. His first ruck sample size is incredibly small but those two finals last year after Mummy went down saw him raise the bat for consecutive tons.

    Hmmmm …. Dunkley’s a touch under 300K and Lobb’s a touch under 400K.

    TU – Sicily
    TD – Dunkley or Lobb

  21. Now i have a decisuon to make with Merrett getting concussed for the 3rd time in 6 weeks so must be in huge doubt to play next week. Also any further concussions over the year will see him sit out for weeks with the way clubs and players look on continual concussions these days.

So i have pretty much decided to trade him to Danger. My dilemma is who do i trade for the last player i put in my side McGovern at D3 to fund the Merrett to Danger trade next week.

Do i just go Sicily probably not suited by tonights weather conditions or Angus Brsyshaw and loophole Doedee’s score as well. Brayshaw could leave me vulnerable in the backs though if not named next week and will cost me another trade at some stage as he is not a keeper.

    T- U Sicily

    T – D Brayshaw

  22. So, I ended up with a lot of unexpected cash from forced rookie trades. Thinking of going from Sicily to Menegola! Or anyone else who hasn’t played. Any thoughts? Leaves me with $1,400, so very efficient! No good way to upgrade on other lines

    Already have: Heeney, Walters, McLean

    1. Menegola is probably overpriced given Ablett’s arrival. He should still average 90+, but as long as he stays in defence, so should Sicily.

If you’re willing to take on another round 14 bye player, then Billings or Franklin could work.

But if you’re willing to keep the cash in the bank, but really want to ditch Sicily, you could also consider Rory Lobb.

      2

      0
      1. Billings is cheaper and less likely to drop in price. While I am not thrilled about more R14, I sort of want to have a safe guy with that spot, which rules of Lobb. Hmm, Billings…..yeah, team looks so much better with him rather than Sicily. Been trying to dodge mid-pricers who are not super clearly ones I want, and while I will in no way be shocked if Sicily does well, I won’t be shocked if he doesn’t. Thanks, always helps to talk with someone about stuff. Still May just keep Sicily. Better bye, more likely to ride, and I like $150,000 in the bank if I can’t productively use it. May stick just to avoid the dread last minute what was I thinking…..
