  1. Looking at trading out sandi to stop me receiving a doughnut so
    TU Jacobs
    TD Mumford
I have Goldy and Preuss on the pine and i have thought about Martin but with a 2nd ruck being named i think this will impact his scoring
Comment if you have any other suggestions

      1. I have thought of that but I don’t know if i want to be taking the risk on Sandi if it flares up again or is more than one week. Knowing Ross Lyon he might want to make sure Sandi if fine and give him 2 weeks if his bye was next week i would have done it, but now i am unsure

        1. Flying to Adelaide big lad, On a plane not ideal if he is a little tight.

Next week at home do not believe FURL will rest him, if travelling maybe a question mark.

Too much on the line, they will need to win against the Pies, probably expect to lose against the crows at home.

        2. Natopotato88 – I am also looking at bringing in a ruckman this week, although I am going trade Butler for one of them (and swing Strnadica forward for the week).

Mumford is clearly going to be the sole ruck for GWS, in a good team, scores really well, but tends to be injury prone.

Jacobs having a good year, is also in a good team, but is he is a top 3 ruck?

I voted Mumford, but you might end up getting rid of one injury prone ruck (Sandi) for another (Mummy)?

I would favour you somehow setting up a FWD / Ruck link, but it sounds like you might have to use 2 trades to do this?

  2. Now that S Martin is going to have Archie as a “ruck partner in crime”, who do I bring in for Butler (Strnadica sent forward for this week):

    t/up Goldy $519,300 / Aver = 96 / L3 = 117 / L5 = 103 / BE = 63 vs Carl

    t/down Mummy $526,600 / Aver = 106 / L3 = 96 / L5 = 104 / BE = 87 vs WCE

    1. Goldy seems better to me, fallen premium so you know he has more in him, As far as i know he doesn’t have the injury concerns like mumford does as you stated previously

Goldy has the rd 12 bye compared to the Rd 13 bye so depending on your structure Goldy seems best, only issue is Preuss but with the form Goldy is in, Preuss just can’t make it into the team as why would you change something if you know it is working.

    2. Goldy could also had Pruess coming back look at Goldy’s scores first few rounds when he was in the side. Pruess also is dominating the vfl hard to ignore much longer i think

        1. Todays presser:

          North Melbourne‏ @NMFCOfficial
Scott: We’re keen to work out a way to get (Preuss) in the side, we’ll try to work out a way to get him in #NMFCMedia

          1. To confuse the issue further.
“Ruckman Braydon Preuss appears unlikely to play despite being named on North’s extended bench for Sunday’s game. North coach Brad Scott said at his Friday press conference that it had become increasingly hard to play two ruckmen and, with No.1 big man Todd Goldstein in good form, Preuss looks set to spend another week in the VFL.”

            1. That was a journo’s interpretation oi Scotts words above, probably the tone of voice used I imagine. Me thinks this will be complete mystery for a few more hours.

  3. Not sure about the captaincy. Should I bank Danger’s 163, or roll the dice on Fyfe?

    TU: Take the 163
TD: Roll the dice, Fyfe can do better.

        1. Lol. If you don’t take Dangers score your a tool ! Should say fool, but tool is more appropriate. Hahaha.

          1. See i am not sure how to react to this as I don’t know if you are the one being sarcastic, or you don’t seem to understand sarcasm at all yourself.

But then again your English makes you look more like the fool so i will go with the 2nd option 🙂

    1. I just hit thumbs up. I’m faced with the same decision and I’m going with Berry. Last 4-weeks Berry has averaged 67 and his score is trending upwards, Otten has averaged 64 over last 4 weeks and is trending downwards. Berry has been named on ball, whilst Jenkins is back for Crows which will mean less time forward for Otten.

  4. Just did Marchbank – Hibberd before i remembered the rolling lockout, so that’s a lock either way, but also considering:

    T/U: Otten to Rance
T/D: Hold and get another look at Perryman for a downgrade next week, then upgrade Newman instead once he’s hit peak price.

  5. Need to Downgrade Butler so i don’t cop a donut:
TU: Stewart- Has decent Job security
TD: Greenwood- Is 50k cheaper which will make upgrading a rookie to J. Selwood next week easier.

  6. J.Stewart is on the bubble, I am thinking he is a decent bench option.

    UP – Go for it
DN – save a trade, he has poor JS

  7. My season has been heading backwards after a promising start. Have a donut coming unless i make a move.
Thumbs up. reiwoldt to martin/pendles (yeo to forwards)
Thumbs down. Sandi to goldy. (Nank to cover for roo)
Comment. Hold both and cop a donut.
Will two weeks off will set roo up for a return to top 6 forwards, and is holding sandiwitts is better than risking goldy with preuss threatening a call up.
    Both trades help with byes.

    1. If you have to move Sandilands on, have you considered Sam Jacobs? His scoring is up there with the best rucks this season, and unlike the others, he doesn’t have a ‘friend’ threatening to come in and ruin his scoring.

  8. Need a defender. Already have laird, tuoy, docherty, adams, newman.

T/u Harbrow (good for byes, lower ownership)
T/d Lloyd Sydney (dpp, has been consistent)

    Comments others?

    1. I rate the defenders like this:

      Tier 1: Adams, Docherty, Laird
      Tier 2: Lloyd, Roberton
Tier 3: Hibberd, Williams, Harbrow, Tuohy, Howe, Hurley, Rance, JJ and Simpson

Tier 1 is a must then ideally you want both of Tier 2, but cash issues and all this year you could probably get away with just one as long as you pick up 2 Tier 3s at the right price. If you really need players for next week grab Harbrow but if you are ok then I would be grabbing Lloyd.

      1. Thanks for that Hutta. Informative as always. I was leaning towards Lloyd but had completely forgotten about Roberton for some reason. Gives me something to think about when or if Newman gets upgraded

      1. Probably Jones – although from memory he has an awesome record at the SCG.

Heater needs to start to fire up – he has been below par for too many weeks now!!

    1. I’m holding Marchbank this week.

Reckon we need another look at Perryman, and Sharenberg looks really good (but has an ordinary injury history).

Hopefully they both go really well – as we really need some good defensive rooks to come through ASAP!!

  9. Now that Scott Selwood has backed up his ton, I am thinking of bringing him in next week. Could be kept or sold for cow like profit, and plays R13. That means I have to make one of the trades I had planned on R11 in R10, meaning tonight, and move out one of my R13 bye players early.

Zero cash in the bank (yes really, exactly zero)

    R10:
    Balic –> Greenwood. +$98,200

    R11:
    Hampton –> Scharenberg +$115,300
    Eddy –> Bolton +$24,600 (whimper)
    Hardwick –> S. Selwood -$20,900

Total $217,200 to go into R12.

    Byes after those trades 22 – 21 – 17
Will probably trade out WHE & Otten on R13, with one to handle injuries that may happen on R12, or maybe Sandi.

    TU = Good plan
TD = Bad plan (please explain why if you would be so kind)

    Thanks!

  10. Thoughts on trading McCarthy to Ainsworth/Bolton this week. Allows a triple downgrade next week of Out: Newman, Barrett, Witts/Sandi, In: Scharenberg, Cousins and Strandica and frees up 970,000-1,030,000 to bring in Docherty, Dahlhaus, Macrae for WHE, Taranto and Hampton in RD12 and Parsons to Nankervis or Powell-Pepper to Rockliff in Rd 13.

If I select Bolton/Ainsworth it will not affect my ability to field 18 as pre trades I can field 20.

TU: Execute the first step of the plan.
TD: Trade McCarthy next week and hold Witts/Sandi longer till Rd 13.

    1. TU: S Bolton (80,000 cheaper and on debut 7/9 disposals were contested and 3 tackles from 81% TOG)

TD: B Ainsworth (expected to return next week and averaging 71.5 from 2)

  11. fielding Scharenberg over Otten
TU good idea with Jenkins in the side
TD don’t field him without seeing him play his first game

    1. Generally don’t trade a rookie (especially with an injury history like his) in without seem them let alone fielding them…

Tough call though, no-one really knows Ottens role in the side this week with Jenkins/Lever playing.
