    1. I’m holding this week and will make a decision after this round. You should have plenty of fwd rookies to back him up this week and I have him for the VC loophole option (no Strndica).

Keeping my eye on Steele, Hannan and a few other premos in Round 2 and will potentially make the trade next week. This week I’ll have Butler, Houston and Taranto so I may see a bit of a lower score but nothing too dramatic.

Not worth a trade at this stage.

    2. Either way you need to settle on it this week. Personally I’m trading. The thought of being without a premium for up to 6 weeks is enough reason to trade. Who you bring in depends on your rookie situation elsewhere……

    3. Hold, you need to weigh up are you in it for the long haul, or looking to win the competition.

Roo fit will be in the top 6 for scoring average for forwards.

You do not play anyone till Round 3.

I am using Hannan as coverage.

Info is a little vague at the moment, but do you want to waste a trade trading him out then waste another trade trading him back in.

  1. Question… how many ‘E’ points can we get.. i.e. If I don’t have 2 players playing, will I get 2 E points or is it capped at 1. Thx

    1. If you have 2 non-playing players and have selected 2 emergencies, you get both.

If you have 1 non-playing player, but select 2 emergencies, you get the lower score.

  2. After reading Father’s Cows article, I’m thinking of reversing my trade from J Smith to WHE for one more week of data from WHE, Magrath, Ainsworth etc.
T/U – reverse trade, wait another week.
T/D – keep WHE trade, bank the points.

PS: Loving all the work that goes into this site, it’s always appreciated – even from those of us introverts who usually thumbs up/down, rather than post.

        1. Foolish mortals!

Fairly happy that I pulled the trigger on Roo + Simpkin to Steele + WHE.

Something to file away in the back of your heads for next time round: if you’ve got a handful of corrective trades you’re considering, you may as well start after round 1. Gives you flexibility the following week to do a few more.

I’ll be looking at Hannan and McGrath next week, both of whom I’d probably have missed if I hadn’t done the other trades this week.

Be aggressive early, then ride it out til the cows fatten.

          1. If you really have that many trade you have to make, you do need to get them in. Injuries often do not leave you much choice. And sorry your team is hurting that much!

  3. Who to put on Field

T-U Petrevski – Seton will be better for the run , and did not pay the big bucks for him to be an Emergency on the bench. Also a POD is it worth going for a bit of glory.

T-D Powell – Pepper gets plenty of the pill , but is a clanger king. Most other SC players will field him so a risk ekement not to go with the pack.

  4. I started the year with Jye Simpkin 🙁 he looked putrid last week.
T/U get rid of him for hannan
    T/D hold him

  5. To play at D6

Butler or Taranto, seems a no brainer. Last week I had Taranto!

But every year I have switched them round for round two the scores have been reversed from the previous week!

    TU Butler
    TD Taranto

  6. I am planning on bringing Hannan in. Think that as mature-age, and Melbourne’s obvious faith in him, he is a more stable bet than other rookies. Want to bring him in to have 2 corrective trades available for next week.

Money not an issue. Who should I get rid of though?

    Eddy
    Turner
    Taranto
    Pickett
    McCarthy
    Houston

    other options via dual-posi…

    Barrett
    Swallow
    O’Meara
    Your thoughts appreciated!

  7. Not really a query, just an FYI that I hadn’t seen anywhere else on the site yet:

Robbie Fox ($102K mid, SYD) has been elevated to the senior list.

  8. Dreamt Danger and Selwood collision……..
its hazy but I think there were two stretchers going off the field…..

  9. Which rookie to play on the field up forward? Fantasy Freako on Twitter made a good point about rookies who smash a good score in week 1 then go for a pretty average score the next. Butler has that written all over him.

    Field:
T/U Eddy (home game, nervous 1st game out of the way)
    T/D Parfitt (home game too)
    Comment: Just field Butler!

Edit: didn’t notice the time so Butler is now my E. :/

    1. Why we get sucked in to Higgins every year.

Mark my words after Round 6 or 7 you will regret putting Higgins in.

  10. Thinking about bringing in Hannan in this week, so that I can bring in WHE and Butler in next week. What are your thought on this?

    2
    1. I think going a week early on Hannan is too big a risk. WHE after one game is different, he’s a player Collingwood targeted via trade, he’s got exposure at AFL level, and therefore has security. Hannan is a big unknown, and we’ve only got one game to go off. He could just as easily go goalless for a couple of weeks and then find himself in the VFL.

That being said…who are the three players you’d be looking to trade out of your forward line to bring these three in?

  11. Playing a Draft League

Which two of these defenders would I be best to run with?
    – Josh Gibson
    – Bachar Houli
    – Caleb Marchbank
    – Zac Jones

Also would it be worth swapping out Viney and picking up either Mitch Duncan or Stephen Hill?

    2

    1. Nothing wrong with Viney, stick with him.

Houli and Marchbank would be my picks (though MB and Jones are pretty tough to split). Gibbo will be playing a lock-down role this year with Hawthorn’s young side, so I wouldn’t be expecting him to score as much as when he can play a rebounding role.

  12. With eddy & smith not playing leaves a loophole option considering hibberd could get dropped might do a early trade so I have 2 trades to use next week as u have all the wrong rookies
