      1. Why downvote Macrae and not give an alternative? That’s just confusing the hell out of me.

  1. Trading Fyfe. Should have grabbed Lloyd last night but was too indecisive.

What’s people’s thoughts on the Bont?

TU – worthwhile like for like replacement for Fyfe, go for it
TD – go Libba instead and grab the cash, but will need another trade

    1. If you’re trading out a premium, please bring in another premium. Would only recommend players that you’d like to see in your “ideal team”

      1. Don’t trade him – you knew he wasn’t playing 22 games when you picked him, this is one (or two) of his seven games off.

  2. Kade Simpson:
    TU: Trade to Darcy Moore
TD: Trade to Daniel Rich or Tom Stewart

Only other real options seem way to sideways (eg. Hurn, Ryan, etc)

      1. I would argue there really aren’t clear premium backs at this stage besides Lloyd who I couldn’t afford this week.

  3. Boys and girls, stuck the vc on Oliver last night in my drunken state so need to nail my C.

    TU – Grundy
    TD- Cripps

  4. If it’s not a newbie question. I had hore on the bench, apparently there’s some manoeuvre to get his score on the ground?
Does that require another defender not playing this round?

      1. Thanks. I had the (E) on Hore, but all my back man are named to play but Dursma apparently is under an injury cloud.

        1. Duursma expected to play at this stage. Most Coaches in the same boat with More, no need to panic……

  5. To confirm my thoughts on who to bring in. Fyfe is out 100% and bringing in either Macrae or Zerrett due to same bye round.
Have 125k itb depending on who I go it will be 40k or 200k. BE’s are 138 and 86.
Macrae and 1 poor game and price crashes, get him in in a few weeks with the 200k.
Zerrett pretty consistent scorer, but low ceiling and has shown he can be a top 8 mid.
    TU Macrae
    TD Zerrett

      1. **** Previous Post ****

I can’t help it but with 30 trades left Fyfe is going this week due to insufficient cover as Scott is out. Plus concussion can have lasting affects. Sticking to the rd12 byes I have 3 options. Macrae, Bont and Zerrett. Bont just doesn’t sell to me, so I rule him out. This leaves Macrae and Zerrett

Macrae at 686k would leave me with 40k left over, but I didn’t start him due to an expected price drop. He has a BE of 138 so just 1 somewhat average game and it will fall a fair way. I’d need this to happen in the next 2-3 weeks.

For Zerrett he had an interrupted preseason but the last 2 week has scored tonnes and his first round 60 odd has dropped out. He has a BE of 86 and is priced at 533k. I’d make 70k and then have 200k itb for an easy upgrade to someone like Macrae.

So do I go Macrae and spend the money or save money on Zerrett and hope for a Macrae price drop then bring him in with my 200k?

    1. When I make a big statement sometimes I deserve to be shot down, but if Zerret is Top 8, who is ninth?

      0

      0
      1. I believe that all comes down to injuries. Not everything will go perfectly. Since the start of 2014, Zerrett has missed only 5 games due to injury. All 5 in 2015 due to a stress fracture in his foot, and just 1 game in 2017 due to suspension. I’m a lot more confident he will play out a full season than most other midfielders. Some players may have a better average but only play 18 games which is not what is wanted.
Trades can be scarce at the end of the year and if i had to make a guess on the player finishing 9th i’d go Coniglio honestly or Duncan. Will play almost every game but not get that massive average

  6. If Gibbons get dropped move him on to Constable?

TU Corrective trade one week late

  7. Hore (Emergency) scored 86.
I can use B McKay to get his score, but who do I bench?

    Comment: Don’t do it

  8. I have Fyfe out so I am intending to use a loophole.

I have whacked the E on Atkins who, if he spuds it up I will then put Gibbons on the field instead of Fyfe and take his score.

t/up This is a good plan

t/dwn This is a bad plan and if Atkins spuds it up then just trade Gibbons for Stack and put Stack onfield

    1. If you are willing to make a trade, would it be better to trade Fyfe instead of Gibbons because of the Josh Glenn rule? Plus will there be lasting effects on Fyfe?

  9. Thinking of a crazy left field trade idea.

Dusty and Dunkley are both underperforming. Whitfield is a prime trade candidate. Looks clearly a top 6 def and he’s at his cheapest he’ll be for a while. Can’t do a simple switch due to limited funds. Thinking of the following:

    * Dunkley into Whitfield (swing Moore fwd)
    * Dusty into Bowes

Bowes scores and price are worth considering. Couldn’t tell you a single thing about him. Please talk me down from this ledge!!

    TU – So crazy it’s a masterstroke.
TD – So crazy it’ll haunt me for a decade.

    13

    1. This probably won’t help talk you out of it. With Libba back, Dunkley has to play out of his skin to get that sweet sweet on-ball role, so I don’t blame you for thinking about it, but when he is rolling, Dunkley is a decent player. Dusty has to go, no argument. If you had Duursma in the DEF, you could swap him for Dusty and a few more $$$ lets you have Whitfield. Then you’re weighing up Dunkley vs Bowes (plus cash). Bowes is getting more of it, has skill, and getting the chance to shine in a team that has less stars than usual (think about THAT!) but is also travelling well early in the season. They did something similar last year I think, won about 3 in the first few rounds, then fell away.
I don’t think I helped at all, but dinner is here.

    2. J Dunkley:
      2018 RD15 onwards: 65% Centre Bounce attendances

      2019 WB CBA’S:
      J Macrae: 62%
      T Liberatore: 61%
      M Bontempelli: 58%
      M Wallis: 53%
      J Dunkley: 43%

      1. Thanks Adam – your stats show very clearly that he just isn’t getting the time on ball. To drop 22% CBA might be a large indicator of his under-performance with respect to SC score.

        1. I’m too far in now. I’m running a counter culture SC team this year. Everything that’s up is down. I’m now one of 1145 coaches questioning who is Bowes is and how the heck is he in my SC team. I look forward to berating him for spudding out a 40 during the Gold Coast – Carlton game this weekend.

  10. have dusty and greene (yes i know) and 27k itb. not whether i should trade one or both or hold one or both.
T/U get a mid keeper and double trade-probably martin to neale and greene to miers or something similar.
T/D just trade Martin> T.kelly and play him in the forwards, (but should i concerned about his injury ?)
feel free to comment on whether i should just hold either after keeping them this point- cheers!

  11. Fyfe is out injured, I will hold but midfield is weaker without him. Want to trade Dunkley this week but undecided on best forward options (T. Kelly would cook by bye structure) so figure trading for a premo mid is better.

    Considering following trade:
TU: Gibbons – L. Schultz (via Dunkley DPP) then Dunkley – Z. Merrett
I do have the cash and could go Macrae instead of Merrett…

TD: Schultz JS and scoring is too low and not worth the trade.

I am a Freo supported and think Schultz is best 22 like what I have seen, but FURL…

  12. Have Darling as F3… and an itchy trigger finger.
But, not enough funds to bring in Kelly or Boak.

T/u Hold. He’ll come good. Back him in.
T/d Trade to Worpel, who is showing promising signs/potential Top-10

    Thanks in advance coaches.

    1. In the same boat as you. We picked him for a reason. I picked him because he was the leading fwd last year until he got injured, plus he’s had a full pre-season this year . Think he’s worth holding at for now , it’s along season. Worse case scenario you trade him when he has a huge score to someone else you want. Cheers.

  13. Will bailey Scott be back in the north side soon? Can someone please give me some insight if he will or not.

    Up: yes
    Down: no

    1. Supposedly he is only being rested/managed this week.

He provides some outside run that North need so I would be expecting him back in pretty quickly

  14. Still considering trading Darling….. Should I hold the trade though? Have 27 left.

    Comment any suggestions, anything helps

    1. If you’ve used three trades already, you shouldn’t be considering more sideways trades. West Coast will pump Freo this week, I expect Darling will go huge.

  17. Sooo, I popped the vc on Grundy but forgot to bench Gawn and play Bines. What are the odds that Scott (nth; emergency) will play? Is there any way of finding out for sure before the game kicks off or could he be brought on at any time during the game?

    1

    1
    1. Team sheets are released 90mins before the opening bounce. You’ll know then. With rested as his reason for missing you would doubt he’ll get a late inclusion.

  18. To Hoff or not to Hoff.

I have/had the hoff in my team as cover for gawn and grundy in rucks. I see that the hoff was not even mentioned in the poll for best forwards and is due to drop $50k this week. Is it worth keeping him as cover for ruck or just change to a forward who is expected to be top 6ish. Or on the other hand will he come good?

    Tu – keep ruck coverage.
Td – change to top 6ish forward

Comment – he will come good. 600 coaches who voted in the forward poll are mistaken in their belief.

      1. Danger , kelly and moore all others rookies.

Really only heeney that is missing all others are a risk. Dont trust boak. Can see that too many geelong will cause issues. Maybe cripps or cameron or for a left field choice to make some cash marshall.

        1. I would hold Hoff and save the trade.
Heeney will be top 6 with Danger and Kelly. So if you could get him in and keep Hoff. After that not too confident on others yet.
Fwd line needs time I think before making trades.

I went a similar strategy with ruck cover except it will happen when I bring Mumford in.
Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Billings (Lycett when when Mumford joins team)
Pretty happy with Billings so far and means I won’t need to touch my fwd line until byes
