Last Minute Queries – Rd5

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 21 2017

Questions?  Questionables?  Questionability?  Quizzes? Quizzing?  Quizzed?  Quandaries?  Queries?  Queried?  Quagmires?  Q & A?  FAQs? Quick  answers!!

Round Five is almost upon us and there are plenty of queries floating around ahead of the Rolling Lockout.  Should I place the big C on Dangerfield or Rocky?  Are there any players in danger of a late withdrawal?  Who starts at M8?  How does that loophole thingy work again?  Can the Tigers make it a 5-0 start to the year (go, you good things!) 😉   Whatever the query, our SCT Coaches will be more than happy to answer it here………..

  1. My current mid guns are Danger, JPK, Fyfe, Treloar and Beams. I would like the last three spots to be occupied by top ten mids … given Hanners, Parker and others are struggling does this open the door for MURPHY to be a top ten mid this season? Thoughts …

  2. I unfortunately have Callum mills, held him hoping he would come good,
What does everyone think time to cut my losses and down grade or will he come good

    1. Hold this week at least. Been named on the wing and future role might be different with a few Swans guns/veterans coming back in.

    1. I’m holding this week as well. Not a lot on offer and think my team is pretty safe as it is (until after the round where I scream blue-murder!).

    1. Steele hasn’t really set the world on fire like we were hoping.
Will probably be an above average mid-pricer, but would probably still need to be upgraded at some stage.
Buddy is a premo going through a trough.

  5. I was originally planning on going taranto to Ballic and upgrading SPP or Hampton next week to a simpson / Hanners etc
Now thinking of Hampton to Williamson and Taranto to Hanners. Leaves me with $15k to spend.
I know Hampton still has a lowish BE but he has been averaging around 50 and I dont think having Williamson instead of him will hurt me that much.
Im keen on one of the Sydney Mids as their run after this week till their bye is blues, lions, north, saints, hawks. I can see some big scores coming up. Im leaning towards Hanners over Parker as historically Hanners is more consistent (even though this year he has been down) whilst Parker has a higher ceiling but is more prone to a stinker.

    T/U go for it
T/D wait a week for better rookie / fallen premium options.

  6. JOM -> Fisher
    Hannan -> Nank

25 trades left after that. Any other info on JOM? Likely to miss more games before byes?

    1. S Burgoyne article on afl.com.au states that he trained for some of the week, but wasn’t quite 100%.

Not sure that I believe them, but I am holding JOM this week.

      1. The sooner you get rid of JOM, the better. I cut him last week.

I took him on as I thought he would start off a bit slow and then get going, but with him breaking down so early, it’s not a good sign.

  7. No Balic this week throws out hours of planning. Was doing JOM/Roughy to T. Adams (via DPP) & Balic. So Plan B is looking like
    TU : Trade out – JOM & Roughy. Trade in – T Adams & Z Fisher
TD: Do neither trade, hold both JOM & Roughy for another week

  8. Just the one trade this week, Eddy > Fisher via Pickett

T/U- No he looks like Josh Glenn
T/D- Jump the gun trade aggressive

  9. Like many, I need to upgrade Roughy asap. With Balic out, all my original trade plans went out the window. Finger is on the trade button, but haven’t hit it yet…:)
    T/U: Roughy-Macrae this week
T/D: Roughy to a (hopefully) cheaper Buddy next week

  10. This Round calls for some left field thinking.

    Troy Menzel.$183.900.

    No wait !

He is on the bubble. 2 game ave. 65.50 negative B/E -23.

With Mc Govern going down for 8-12 weeks surely he gets a game.

T/U….. You may be onto something.

T/D……..Crazy talk ,when did you start on the beers?

  11. 27 trades – Have both JOM / Gunston and not confident in either…

T/U – Should I be looking to upgrade Gunston and cash in JOM to a Fiorini/Fisher?
T/D – Or cash in Gunston and look to upgrade JOM?

    or hold off altogether?

  12. Just cut JOM for Fisher

-leaves me with 400k+ in the bank.

Sill have Few rookies in team
    What are my options now?

  13. Going to bring in Yeo and Rocky over the next two weeks, can’t afford both in one week. Which one should I bring in first?

  14. Wrestling with the smart trade/s to do

T/U: Can trade Taranto out for Pendles (and net $190K in the bank)

T/D: Can trade Florent out for Yeo and Taranto out for Josh Kelly (and exhaust the kitty)

  15. Currently sitting with a big 0 in the MID with all rookie bench players & Taranto not playing. Taranto plus bank will give me $408K
TU: Cop the donut and save trades
TD: Trade to save a donut. If you TD, what is you best suggestion for replacement MID or FWD under $408K?
