    1. Has not been confirmed that he’s rested as the operative word is “may” from C Scott’s presser which mentioned that “Charlie Constable may be managed this week. He is a young player. It is not a reflection of his performance because he’s been going really well”. This was taken out of context in the above article.

      1. “That’s on the basis that Charlie will be managed this week. He’s a young player we need to get through the season so that was a priority for us, even over and above players coming back into the team.

“It was either going to be last week or this week, and it’s not a reflection of his performance because he’s been going really well.”

From the article that was posted with that previous comment

        1. What worries me more is that players like Constable who are rested often don’t come back, especially with Tuohy also returning shortly.

    2. Opens up a Cripps VC option with Constable as the C, into Danger if needed. Hopefully he’s back next week, been great plus more $ to make.

  1. Trade out for RO’B

    TU: Parker (BE 40)

TD: setterfield (BE 20 has handy DPP)
    CMNT: Butters

i know setters is out for two but his loophole is handy so trying to hold him

    1. Butters. That’s what I did anyway, but diff’rent stoked for different folks. I chose him because:
      I. It doesn’t really matter who you pick cos ROB is gonna make a heap of cass
II. Butters gives me more cash and is my crappest MID rookie
III. I wanted to shift a MID/FWD dpp into my midfield (Setterfield) to give me more options for future trades, and
IV. Setterfield will give me loophole options over the next fortnight to maximise onfield rookie scores

      1. Yeah moving setters to my midfield is the most tempting i have 5 mid/fwd players in my forward line and none in my midfield to swing with getting setters in there gives me flexibility for coming weeks

      2. Did similar….. gibbons out…setter to mid…bines fwd, rob into ruck. I have a c loop for almost the entire season.

  2. Having trouble deciding on my trades this week with having 30 left. I am definitely going to bring O’Brien in this week, however I am unsure if I should get Stack at the expense of either Parker or Setterfield. Gibbons will be used no matter what using various dpp swings for O’Brien. With Constable being managed this week this means I don’t need Setterfield as a loophole, so I’d only keep him if he is going to make cash.
TU: Make two trades to bring in O’Brien and Stack (Gibbons, Parker/Setterfield are out)
TD: Just O’Brien for Gibbons and don’t bring in Stack
Thoughts appreciated, also answer following question below 🙂

  3. Charlie Constable is a confirmed out this week, but should return the following round. Keep an eye out for more late outs, the short turnaround between rounds is a killer

    Tu good bet

  5. Butters to Hore vis Duursma, Gibbons to ROB via Setterfield/Bines DPP
this leaves me with 26 trades left, and having to field either Parker or Petrucelle as F6, and Scott/Atkins at M8
    TU: yes
    TD: no

  6. Does a Dim Sim break the whole no meat on Good Friday thing?

TU – of course it does!
TD – there’s no meat in a dimmie!

  7. Zac Clarke a late out. He was my slow burn money maker to use late in the season.

    TU: Trade to Rob
TD: Don’t trade and leave as my slow burn

  8. TU: Butters/Gibbons OUT, Hore/O’Brien IN (no forward loop)
TD: Gibbons/Bines OUT, Hore/O’Brien IN (can use Setterfield to loophole Parker/Petrucelle)

      1. They were talking about resting him if he played this week due to short turn around. I’d wait, but yeah thinking the same.

    1. Bombers fan here – may not be popular, but I really don’t rate Daniher much … doesn’t offer a lot around the ground and drops far too many marks that he should take + his kicking at goal from set shots ain’t that great ….

      1. bombers played him too early @ 1st ,
bigger , stronger & wiser now , bombers wouldn’t have picked him if he wasn’t cherry ripe this week ,
        i recon he’ll have a good season

        1. from a Bombers perspective, I hope so PJ – but I’m yet to see it or be convinced … he needs to significantly improve his kicking from set shots in particular and also at times its like his hands are covered in soap!! The simple marks he drops is shocking at times … missing for so long, not sure he will be up to it for some time … if ever.

  9. so, here’s what I’m wrestling with – what does everyone think (bear in mind I don’t have Walsh):

Option 1: Butters to ROB via Setters to Mids and Sheed to someone like Merrett
OPtion 2 : Butters to ROB and either Setters or Parker to Stack (cash grab option)
Other possibility is to bring Walsh in for Butters and ROB in and hold onto Sheed …

Comments and or thumbs greatly appreciated!!

  10. Is trading Butters to Stack worth it to have 186k in the bank, I also have 29 trades including one this week for ROB
TU: Worth it, Stack will provide one or more decent scores to make cash
TD: Save the trade and make different downgrades later

    1. Wognuts – you can still do it if you have Bines as R3. Trade out your Fwd that you are dropping, moves Bines down and bring in ROB. Still play ROB on field and hope / assume he gets about his average of 85 or so … dont lose much from Grundy with only 100 + cash growth of ROB …

      2

      0
        1. yeah mate, would make decision much harder if Grundy got 140+ … but with yet another poor game against the Lions, you’re not too bad off!

    2. My wife did that. She bought him anyway. Figures it’s only a 15-20pt loss for the week. That’s worth far less than the initial cash growth that O’Brien Is about to give owners.
      Do it anyway!

      1. I think you’re getting a lot of down votes because there’s no point bringing Daniher in until you see how he goes for a couple games before price change. While I don’t think he’ll be top 6-8 forward, it is a pretty open field this year and at 275k, it might be worth a punt. But only after you see how he goes.

  11. Been struggling to decide whether to keep Dunkley or not.
    TU- Trade for marshall
    TD- Trade for Billings

  12. Should I be bringing in Riley O’Brien? Would require me getting rid of my loop-hole but I can use Setters next week (plays 2nd last game) and when I downgrade a defensive rookie I can grab Tobe Watson.

      1. I moved on my ruck loophole in Rd4 last year to bring in English. The future cash was useful and I’d do it again, so I don’t mind it, just have be to more careful on trades in the future.

        1. Yet to use a trade. If O’Brien is going to hold his spot for the time that Jacobs is out isn’t this a no-brainer?

            1. Yeah, pretty schmick. Didn’t start Whitfield or Neale unfortunately, but I nailed the rookies and am ranked decently- might sneak into the SCT Cup as well this week lol.

Cheers, Hutta. Will make that trade now.

    1. Tough one, Peter.

Job security favours O’Brien seeing though Hore has been dropped before and Sicily is at somewhat a discount. Perhaps T.U?

      1. I was considering Merrett as I need a boost in my midfield and he is reasonably priced. However, I have already traded out Hore for Parker this season and still think Hore’s job security is very shaky. Looks like I’m bringing in Sicily

  13. Is a Constable to Rocky trade too early? Have the cash to upgrade now. Or better to upgrade Williams likely to Whitfield/Dunkey to Boak?

  14. O’Brien is coming in but i am torn on who makes way. Setterfield and Balta are my 2 choices as i feel Gibbons will still make decent cash as it was just a 17 he threw into his scores. Trading Balta leaves me with no fwd cover but trading Setterfield takes any potential money that can be made.
Balta has played 2 games with less than 55% game time on field. Has potential but needs a chance.
Setterfield is relying on he is a straight in but has a BE of 22 already but Balta is 25.

    TU Trade Balta
    TD Trade Setterfield

  15. TWO-PART POLL:
I currently have Constable and Stack on field but if Constable is in fact out, I would get Scott’s 40-odd if I don’t make any changes.

    TU – Leave it
TD – Bring in one of your other garbage rookies (see part 2 below)

  16. Thumbs up – Take Parker’s 50

Thumbs down -roll dice on C Burgess away game against Crows (v’s Talia) avg 40

    Won’t be much in it….
