  1. TU) OUT: Parfitt & Beams | IN: Parsons & Selwood ($134.6k rem)
TD) OUT: Parfitt & Marchbank | IN: Parsons & EVW ($472.9k rem)

My concern with option 1 is Selwood’s high-ish BE of 132 meaning it may be better to pick him up next week. This doesn’t leave a heap of cash in the bank for future weeks and I fear missing out on the cash from cow’s now may leave my team short later in the season.

My concern with option 2 is EVW’s job security & potential low-scoring output this week. I’d like him to play all 5 games up until his round 12 bye so I can sell. Holding Beams is no real concern this week as I have the cover and my planned trades next week would be Beams & Swallow OUT for Rockliff & Selwood IN.

  2. wanted to get the Bont in, but throwing both Otten and Marchbank under the bus to open up the cap space seemed reckless with all the carnage happening..

Parfitt Out – Parsons In, is a lock trade

    Houston Out – Heeney In

this is the trade I’m looking at to strengthen my forwards..
    T/U just the first trade
    T/D do both them trades

    cheers lads..

    1. I’ve gone similar bringing Parsons and Heeney in. Taking a punt that Heeney will remain healthy.

  3. When will North Melbourne let us know about the Waite/Preuss situation? I’m lucky enough not to have this problem in SuperCoach, but in Fantasy my trading decisions will be heavily influenced by whether or not Preuss plays.

      1. So about 17 hours after the (non-rolling) lockout. Wonderful… I swear Brad Scott does this deliberately!

      1. Okay… since you’re good at the Dreamteam codes, to whom would you upgrade Nankervis in Fantasy? Grundy? Martin? Someone else entirely?

        1. I’m probably taking a tactical donut. I have Martin/Nankervis in the rucks at the moment so If I bring anyone in, itll be Grundy for Beams via DPP (keeping Nankervis). Wasted enough trades in the rucks the last 3 weeks the next trade I do here will be to complete this line, and Grundy is the only one ATM I would want, but not whilst Cox is around obviously.

For me, my team make up this week is either Sloane + 0 vs Grundy + Black. Sloane could very well go 140 and Grundy + Black 140 themselves (90+50) so I may well walk away even on points. Worst case, I lose 20-30 but as of next week I will have Sloane over Grundy and I will catch up on points and overtake fast.

If you don’t have Martin, I’d be looking to bring him in – looks the No1 ruck this year. Nankervis has lots of money to make still with his rolling scores so has enough upside for me to keep, especially with his ability to cover both lines.

I wouldn’t even think about Soldo unless named in a team with Nankervis next week.

          1. Keeping in mind that I’m talking about Fantasy, and not the other formats, I’m leaning towards bringing in Soldo and making him an emergency, with Preuss on the field. Soldo may only last a week, but that would make him no worse than my current R4. I do have money to turn Nankervis into Martin, but for the time being I’d rather keep Nankervis and use that money for other purposes next week.

            1. I’m talking about AFL Fantasy as well. Don’t have Nank in RDT, messed up to much at start and missed him. Soldo is a wasted trade I think. Rather bring in players who will play more than 1 week.

              1. Okay… I’ve relented and brought in Martin. You watch, Preuss will probably be a late in and score 100+ now! 😛

                1. Martin is good long term. Don’t worry.

Preuss being in would be lovely for me.

To much emphasis is placed on not taking a donut and making the extra 10 points THIS week. It really isn’t as bad as its made out to be. Last years winner ate a big fat zero. Build your team perfectly elsewhere and you will be fine.

                  1. No doubt Martin will be a great in, but Soldo’s 75 is kind of making me wonder whether I should have gone with my original plan.

  4. Parfitt and JOM to Parsons and EVW. Which will allow Beams to be upgraded next week and another upgrade.
    T/U: go for it
    T/D: rethink those trades

  5. Trade question.

Bad start to the year so total points isn’t a big deal for me. So now it’s just about getting the best team by the end of the season to win finals. So need to maximise my cash. Trading out parfitt for Parsons. Then beams out for:

T/U pendles or bont. Are they as cheap as they’ll get?
T/D Yeo or Josh J Kennedy. Low break evens so jump on now.

  6. Beams to the Bont
    JOM to Parsons via DPP

Leaves me with $150,000 in the bank but a donut in the fwd line this week, but seems better than ditching eddy for parsons at this stage.
    Thoughts?

      1. Yup most likely here as well.

Be interesting to see seasonal pizza trends in Vic and whether there is a spike April-Aug 😛

  7. I’ve already brought in Parsons, for my 2nd trade

    T/U – Beams > Sloane/Bont & play JOM on field ($50/121k ITB)
    T/D – JOM > T.Miles & do double upgrade next week ($440k ITB)

      1. I see, thanks for the info. Just looking for a cheap MID, already got Balic, Barret & Fisher in the MIDs. Just concerns me that JOM is gunna score 40 again and already has a BE of 104

I could also swing Hibberd from Roos to MID & get EVW?

  8. The plan was to trade Hampton out then Stewart got dropped Tu: go a head Stewart will get a game soon. Td:Trade Stewart out he is done. Bringing in Evw.

    1. All 3 emergencies (incl Stewart) have gone up to Gold Coast so Stewart isn’t far out of the side.

      1. Thanks just trying to generate some cash looking at Houston> parsons just undecided what to do in the backline. Looking for a double upgrade next week.

  9. Is Houston to Soldo worth the Weight Watchers intervention trade (So I don’t have the donut) ? It also gives me cash for Beames to Pendlbury.
    TU Trade away
    TD Hold fire

  10. Scott stated today that Geelong could still make a change or two with Menegola and Stewart still in the mix. Geelong has taken all 3 Emergencies to the Gold Coast.

    7

    1. How is he allowed to do this? Emergencies are only to cover sickness/injury just before the game right? Otherwise every coach will start doing this to play stupid mind tricks with the opposition. He should be fined if he decides to make a tactical change

      6

      1
      1. Last week there was a change due to “Team Balance”

Go figure. I thought it had to be medical too. Guess not…

  11. Beams to:
TU = Pendles (Get him while he’s cheap)
TD = BONT (Champion Datas Golden Child)

    1. Can’t go wrong with either. Both should bring you similar output till end of the season…..

  12. To avoid a donut in my tech league, as non of my bench mid rookies are playing, I need to trade 2 out of Beams, J Watson & Menegola. Have decided on Beams, was going to make Menegola the 2nd trade as he’d been omitted and worth approx $100k more than Watson, who I’m hoping will be improved after his one week rest. Happy to see some thumbs..

TU – See ya later Watson AV 79 BE 96
TD – See ya later Menegola AV 102 BE 80

  13. T/U – Hampton to Hibberd is a good upgrade of a rookie and Hibberd a chance of top 6 D
T/D – not worth the trade wait and see on Hibberd or downgrade and get EVW for cash generation

    0

    9
  14. And / or
T/U – Otten to Sloane is a worthwhile trade despite Otten with cash to make and possible top 6 D (yes I called it!)
T/D- wait for Sloane to decrease in price and let otten fatten

    1

    15
  15. T/U: Beams/Marchbank to Simpson/Parsons with $490k in bank for future upgrading.

T/D: Just Beams to Parsons with $653k in bank for upgrading.

Comment: Options other than Simpson (is his price to good to ignore? He’s served me well in the past)

  16. With Newman out I need a DEF asap

T/U – Parfitt > Hibberd (can then go Beams > BONT next week)
    T/D – Parfitt > T.Adams (miss out on BONT for a while)

    2

    11
  17. Has anybody got bench cover this week?

T/U No……… Fingers crossed there is no late outs!

T/D No problems here. I got some cover.

    Comment for Donuts.

  18. Hey SCT coaches,

    With Newman out, I’m after a D6

    T/U…..Williamson ave 68.8 from 4 games
    T/D…..Hampton ave 65.7 from 6 games

    Cheers Catta

  19. I am stuck on whether or not to drop Newman or McGrath issue is if i go Newman i only can get touhy or Hibberd but Mcgrath means i can go bigger. but will Newman be coming back is the question as he was omitted whereas Mcgrath was rested and with price cycles Mcgrath seems worthy to stay til the byes
TU Newman to most likely Hibberd
    TD Mcgrath to Shaw/Simpson

    10

    2
  20. Will Newman get back in the side?
Was trading out Marchbank to EVW But should I dump Newman instead?

    5

    2
    1. he is still an emergency but listed 3rd and this is the 2nd week in 3 he is out so im not really wanting to chance it. Mcveigh has come in and so has Aliir plus Melican held his spot over Newman so it is a tough call
Sydney are trying to build a team that can win so there might be more chopping and changing in the future but if they win who knows if they will change it up
      Up to you buddy champ

  21. I’m trading out Newman and cutting my losses with a BE of 15. He’s made $137.K which is pretty darn good for a 4 game stint and won’t make a helluva lot more. No idea when Horse will bring him back if at all…

As a result Marchbank/Hampton etc survive another week….

    4

    1. Yeah, that’s what I’m leaning towards. Might miss out on 30-50k but have too many rookies in and out at the moment and Marchbank will play as long as fit

  22. Newman should be in the side only Longmire knows why he isn’t I hate AFL coaches it’s no wonder they all get sacked

    2

  23. Swans 0-6

Horse Longmire is under a bit of pressure to win this week.

Newman doesn’t run both ways enough. and he is a defender!

If Aliir Aliir plays well tonight. Melican may get dropped next week too.

Newman has made more $ than some of my other rookies.

SC 108. Sell non playing cow when made 150k.

This year I will take $135K.

    When it suits my trades.

    Goodbye Newman.
