  1. One for my Draft team (SCT Draft league coaches may look away….now)

Will S.Gibson, who did a very good job on Sloan last week, tag Hanners this week (TU) or will he go to JPK, Heen, etc. or not tag at all (TD)

      1. I have owned Priddis in past years. He was super consistent.

I feel he needs a dominant Ruck to score well every week. With the current WC ruck problems I’m not sold on him this year.

Shuey can play inside and outside, is an elite kick and kicks more goals.

I feel he will have more upside if WC get on a roll.

I have been tossing up trading in Dusty this week.

T/U Dont do it . High BE /Contract weighing heavy/ Father stuff etc.

T/D Lock . Top 8 mid /R12 bye/ He loves playing Freo at the MCG.

        1. Hmmmm I was actually leaning towards Shuey mainly for a point off difference

Martin could well swing back into top gear though and at this price hard to resist

Have had Priddis before and normally plugs along around the 95 to 110 mark so not a bad idea

Thanks all still no idea what I’m going to do 🙂

    1. What should I drink at the Saints Blues game with Davo tomorrow:

      TU mid-strength beer

    1. Emma.

I think Berry will have better JS with Brisbane.

Melican may become a Pelican when Aliir and Dane Rampe return.

SPS named Berry as the “Rising Star” this year, when asked after his nomination this week.

His DPP status, and SPSs recommendation. I’m going to bring him.

      1. Thanks Freo Tragic I was just put off with Berrys score predicted to drop in three weeks. But you’ve put foward a good case for Berry. He will be a live body on the bench which would be nice

  4. With Yeo possibly tagging the Bont tonight, do we think that’ll effect his scoring potential?

    5

    4
  5. Yeo will not hold the Bont for 4 qtrs. The Bont will only need to cut lose for a qtr or 2 to score well , which will probably be in the 2nd half when the game is on the line.

  6. Chips Ahoy! suggested in his excellent Captains article that Clayton Oliver may be a captain trap, and it certainly opened my eyes to his overall value…. how real is his reasoning that this teenager may reach his limit soon? Can anyone say when the last time a teenager went through a full (maybe 18+ games is a fair indication?) AFL season averaging over 100 SC points?

T/U: Trade him up soon for sure, he’s going to face a reality/fitness check
T/D: Breakout season for the new GAJ?

    Cheers!

    1. Sammyd – we won’t find about Newman until 5pm WST.

He is on the 7 man interchange bench (so 3 will not play).

I strongly suspect he will not play this week, and then the Swans have K Jack and Rampe coming back in the next two weeks.

I am trading Newman if he is not named in the side this week.

      1

      2
  7. We won’t know for certain till later today.

I wouldn’t be holding my breath on Newman.

    Stewart seems the safer option.

If Newman isn’t named, He is out of my team for Berry this week.

  11. trade out Ottens & Treloar
trade in Z Jones & Rockliff

no idea if Treloar is only going to be one week? so I’m not hanging around to find out,
could be a good trade or a horrible sideways trade, but that’s the beauty of
supercoach, or either a genius or dickhead.
Z Jones price and ave to hard to ignore imo,

    T/U reasonable trades

  12. Channel 7 news shows along the bottom. “Taylor Adams hurts his hand at training”
No mention in sport coverage on this same news.
Is this something to worry about or is it old news?

    1. From the AFL web site “COLLINGWOOD star Taylor Adams has checked in for the flight to Sydney and seems set to face Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Adams appeared to hurt his hand at training on Thursday, with the midfielder seeking medical attention from doctor Chris Bradshaw and walking off the training track.

However, the Magpies vice-captain was spotted going through the boarding gates at the airport on Friday morning which almost certainly guarantees his availability.”

  13. TU – trade Hampton to berry
    TD- trade Newman to berry

Unsure as Newman can’t seem to get a game however Hampton is playing although might go down this week

  14. Good evening

T/U- Treloar to anyone (BE 164 and poor DE letting him down, also have Pendlebury who could be a late out and I have no emergency)
T/D Pickett to Myers/Mutimer and bench Treloar

    4

    6
  15. TU: trade Treloar and Hampton
    TD: trade Beams and Hampton

Treloar will lose more cash and is averaging less than Beams, also has a massive breakeven, but concern is not sure if Beams will play next week

    1. I was keen on Adams this week but after read this from the the AFL web site decided to go for Simmo.

“COLLINGWOOD star Taylor Adams has checked in for the flight to Sydney and seems set to face Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

      1. Yeah Simpson looks like a solid pick mate. Unfortunately have doch and marchbank already and looking to hold them through byes. Injury worry concerns me with Adams too. I didn’t pick him at the start due to his games played ave per season, but looks like a must have at this stage. Has a great record v gws and should be playing max mid mins with Treloar out. Tough decisions mate

  16. Evening fellas,

    TU.
    – Hampton to Berry
    – Beams to any premo (Rockliff?)

    TD
    – Hampton to Berry
    – Newman to Williams or Lloyd

  17. I’ve traded out Hampton to Rance. With Otten, Marchbank, Newman and Stewart as my rooks, is it worth trading any of them to Berry this week? Otten will go After his bye, but are Berry’s numbers enough to make it worth trading him this week?

    TU Yes
    TD No

    5

    3
    1. I’m actually starting to like Rance as well with his nice bye and feel like he is due for a big one. Not sure if I can pull the trigger though – his average is only marginally better than Otten!

Berry allows for cash flow and a nice loophole option as well this week but is not great for the byes and just not sure if he can deliver 75+ to justify the price tag.

Still undecided whether to make any trades this week…sigh.

  18. Tossing up the idea of out Newman (love the cash he could make if he ever got a game but he isn’t getting one)
    TU out Newman-Houston : in berry-JJK
TD out Hampton (Stewart on the field) – Barrett : in berry -j Steven (but leaves one short in the forward line this.
Comment trade in Bont instead of Steven

  19. Looked at my bye structure this afternoon and whilst I doing want another round 11 bye I just can’t ignore The Bont any longer. Rather than wait til post bye to bring him in he’s got the VC tonight. Hoping he goes berserk in the next couple of weeks to warrant the negatives his bye round will bring.

    1. I am going to struggle in rd11 too, but it is a rough season so we gotta grab them while they are within reach.

  20. So Yeo is coming in and hampton is coming out. For my squad he offers more benefits over whatever risk there is.

However, I feel the weight of carrying 3 non-playing rookies in particular. Those rookies are:

    J. Smith (MEL)(DEF)
    Pickett (CAR)(in FWD)
    Hibberd (NTH)(in MID)

Oh, I have Strnadica too but he has a swing role duty for Nank so although he doesnt play and takes up a bench spot for the byes it was in the plans to have him from the start. But, he does add the zeros so i feel like I need to extract one of the aforementioned 3.

Ive basically avoided rookie correction trades up until this point and am now fearing that even though I’ve been trading with byes in mind, I may end up screwed by these non playing dudes holding a bench spot.

$ dictates that I can make a near even Rookie correctional trade by going:

    Pickett – Berry

T/U – Good move (plans are still held for $ banking and a couple 1up1down trades in the near future+brisbane is pretty sweet for loopholing rookies this week)

T/D- Wasted Trade (may aswell hold pickett and hope he gets another game and makes $ over the byes)

Should mention (for some background on how this affects me) I’ll be holding Treloar for now and have eyes on Meyers for next week, but this second trade will leave me at 19 remaining. Scary number, but things will be looking decent for some ‘hold’ weeks until the busy byes with the current plan to make a big grab after Round 11 on some hopefully still decently priced current fallen premos.

    Thanks!

    1. If you are going to make a rookie corrective trade, pick a good rookie, with the chance of making good money, not someone like Berry,

I solved my Pickett problem by upgrading him to JJK.

      1. Thanks Father, that was my thinking too. Although Ive got Hampton out and Yeo in for now…the rolling lockout could equate too something that looks a bit different:

        Hampton – Berry
        Pickett – Yeo

Does that make sense? Similar to what you had said in upgrading Pickett to JPK. Just with the rolling lockout, I had to lock in the Yeo upgrade now. Does that change your opinion at all?

    Thumbs up yes do it

Thumbs down no don’t do it

  22. Bontempelli didn’t work as VC. Whom should I entrust with the actual captaincy?

TU: Take a risk on the Pendlebaby
TD: Docherty (projected to go 130+, for whatever that’s worth)

Comment: other (options include Dangerfield, J. Selwood, JPK, Fyfe…)

  23. A question for SuperCoach Gold subscribers:

Up until now I’ve been getting SuperCoach Gold for free this season, in exchange for completing surveys. My current subscription period has just expired, and News Connect isn’t giving me enough surveys for me to be able to earn enough points to renew it. Having gotten very used to having SuperCoach Gold, I’ve found not having it for the past couple of days to be quite restrictive. So, I’ve decided I’ll just fork out the $20 and pay for it.

My question is this: is the Herald Sun (or its parent company, or any related organisations) going to use the billing address that I provide to try and send me marketing material?

  24. I still havent made my trades for the week, and i am trying to cover a doughnut from Houston so i need to trade out Houston for Franklin and that leaves my 115k down. So my plan was to trade Hampton but for who was my issue.

TU Do i go for EVW or Melican knowing they will play but leaves me tight on cash

TD or Go for Mcneice and hope he gets another game soon.

i could be reckless and take a punt on Mark O’Conner for geelong who plays his first game today

    0

    1
      1. definitely seems like a good option but what is better,
having 90k in the bank with McNeice on the bench
having 20k ITB with Berry on the bench
this is what is really dividing me and it will also leave me with 18 trades
