      1. Joel Selwood is listed as an emergency.

Safe to bet he will come in for Danger over Constable, can’t think of any other reason he would be named as emergency.

  1. OUT: Petruccelle and Gibbons

    IN: Answerth and…

TU: Yeo – good value and ready to start scoring big
TD: Dunkley – great value and moved into the midfield

  2. Trading Butters to Answerth. Should I trade Petruccelle to Corbett and have $385k or trade up to Worpel and have $27k?

  3. Hi coaches! First trade this week has been Clark-Answerth and with my next trade I’ve got two options. My bottom three mids at the moment are: Walsh, Stack, Ross and my bottom three fwds are: Drew, Pettrucelle, Parker.

    Should I:
TU: Gibbons to Fyfe (strong mids, leaves only one rook other than Walsh on field)
TD: Pettrucelle to Daniel (starts to fix an awful forward line)

I prefer the top option as Fyfe will outscore Daniel, be a top mid and it’s probably best chance to get him in but it leaves me with the weakness of Pettrucelle on field for another week.

    Thanks all for the help!

  4. Hey Guys,

    I’ve gone Collins to Ainsworth
    Petrucelle to Corbett

Leaves me with $484 in the war chest to do some upgrades next week. Targeting McCrae & Neale

    T/U – Good move
    T/D – WTF?

  5. With no real VC options or chance for me this week who should I captain?
    T/U – Gawn
    T/D – Grundy

    1. Alza.

      Do you have Heeney?

He could be a sneaky V/C chance if you can only go a friday night player.

      2

      1. I have Lloyd, Merrett, Heeney and D. Smith was thinking of going Lloyd although the ceiling isn’t really there 120 would be enough.\

I can’t go Grundy into Gawn cause I’ll be playing Footy from 2:15.

  6. Should I trade out Libba ?
I have a horrible feeling of FOMO if Libba goes large in Ballarat wet/slippery lots of stoppage’s etc etc, or like last week could he have a run with roll on Neale. The trade would to Neale or Fyfe. Or do a downgrade and keep for the time being?
    T/U trade Libba
    T/D keep Libba

  7. Can’t loop forwards.
Who to play as forward ‘E’ this week incase Danger is out.

    TU- Petrucelle (vs Saints)
    TD – Setterfield (vs Pies)

    1. Kennedy.

Do you have a DPP forward in your midfield? I’m moving Danger to the midfield. Setters forward.

This way I can play Atkins or Constable if he misses.

  8. Ok hear me out on this one guys, I know on paper it sounds terrible and risky, but truth be told I’m not doing great in Supercoach this year and I need a big risk vs reward move to catch back up. So here’s what I’m thinking…

It’s pretty much a given that Danger will be a late out, and even if he isn’t, he’ll be hampered by his injury, which means a poor score, which means dropping in price. Unless he goes on an absolute tear these next few weeks he’ll bottom out at around $450-$460k in a few weeks time.

So my plan is to trade him out to another premo (Daniel, Marshall, Dunkley etc.) and then after Port’s bye, pick him up cheap by upgrading Willem Drew, who should rise in price more now that Wines is out.

I know sideways trading is a big no-no in Supercoach, but I feel like it’s necessary in order to get my season back on track.

I’m aware this is a Danger-ous (pun intended) move, and could easily backfire, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take.

    What do we think?

    2. Ben

      In theory this could work.

For me I would only consider this if I had / was sure of, all these things.

      26 or more trades.
I was sure Danger was pretty badly injured, and will most likely miss this week and maybe next.
I already has a heap of round 13 Bye players, and trading him would help through the Byes.

I had a Huge POD I had eyed off with a great run of games coming up, And a Bye that suits my team. Also one, that will most likely out score Danger anyway.

      Jeremy Cameron ?

      I was genuinely tempted myself.

Fortunately a couple of bubble boys have presented themselves, and
I won’t be making such a risky move this week.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

      1. I’m personally leaning towards Rowan Marshall for several reasons:

        1. Great POD

        2. Very Supercoach friendly role

        3. Scoring very well

        4. Good job security

        5. Gives me heaps of cash

My only real concern is that in-between now and the byes he plays Brodie Grundy, but Grundy doesn’t seem to destroy the scoring of the opposing ruck like a Gawn or Stef, so hopefully he’ll be fine.

Also strongly considering Cameron, but surely he can’t keep this form up for the rest of the year?

        5

        3
      2. Just another thought…

Danger to Menegola would free up $150k.

Could be handy to get in another Premo next week.

Gola has hit his rock bottom price and has a lot gain if Danger is missing the next few weeks.

I would be all over him if it wasn’t for that R13 Bye.

I still think Cameron has the most potential to go huge again in the next few weeks and give you that lift your looking for.

        2

        1
        1. Westoff has also bottomed out and is averaging 89 the past three matches. I will be looking closely at his score this weekend. Might help to get to a full team faster and get an advantage on other teams.

          0

          0
    3. If he was 600K+ & you could do more with money I’d be keen but I just dont think you can do enough with 540K, If i’d known whitfield was going to be out for 2weeks+ I might have made this move with him.

      1

      0
    4. Not actually that radical an idea, Ben. Would make that move if Danger’s injury was serious, think people are making too big a deal of it.

      Consider the following points:

      1) Cats are playing North, who they’ll crush with or without Danger; meaning it’s not urgent to rush him back.

      2) A rest this week will probably do him some good and if the injury was serious enough to sideline him for a while we’d know about it by now.

      3) Even if the injury compromises his midfield time he can still rest up forward, grab a few goals and hover at 90 – 100 before he gets back to full fitness and explosive form.

      4) Finally, you’ve got to consider the economy of trades. The only way I’d even CONSIDER trading out Danger would be for Boak. You’ve suggested Marshall or Daniel however, in which case ask yourself is the extra points worth a TWO trades to bring Danger out and then back in? Also, I’m certain that Danger will still outscore the FWD options you mentioned overall and still finish as a top tier FWD.

So, in light of those points, I wouldn’t be doing the old switcheroo with Danger. Injury isn’t as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Bite the bullet, save the trades and come out better in the long run.

    5. I don’t think it’s a bad move and you are aware it’s risky. However, you may want to run your numbers again regarding Danger’s bottoming out price; you said he’d be “around $450-460k in a few weeks time.”

The only way he gets that cheap after 3 games is if he is scoring in the 80s, which I don’t think is likely. He will drop but I think his lower end will be around $480k but more likely around $490-500k, which might foil your plan. If you still want to do it, go for it but it is possible you’ll have to jump on another player if Danger does not drop enough $.

  9. Ok guys, this could be the biggest decision of my season:

Thumbs up: Duursma Libba – Corbett Lloyd

Thumbs down: Duursma Drew – Answerth Dunkley

  10. Who to field this round??

    TU: Answerth and Atkins
    TD: J Ross and Constable

Or comment if any other combination which can include Hayes as well ??

    Thanks you

    12
    1. I’d field Constable even if he’s not named just in case he’s a late in, then have your second choice as an emergency.

  11. Definite trade is Gibbons-Ainsworth.

Keen for a double downgrade but only real option is Parker-Corbett.

TU – do it and bank the cash
TD – not worth it, keep Parker

    7

    4
  12. WIll corbett make enough money to be worth while for our team
TU – Yes (even though he may be a slow burn a solid downgrade from Petrucelle)
TD – No (Key forward and playing in suns forward line)

  13. In last minute panic mode……..
DEF Lloyd, Smith, Williams, Scrimshaw, Duursma, Hore B: Clark, Burgess
MID Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Cognilio, Liberatore, B Crouch, Walsh, Constable
    B: Butters, Gibbons, Scott
    Ruck Grundy Gawn B: Bines
FWD Danger, Kelly, Westhoff, Moore, Drew, Parker B: Petrucelle Settersfield

    4.4k in bank
    28 Trades remaining

T/U Double down Butters and Pettrucelle to Answerth and Corbett via Setters (risk of limited rookie options in next few weeks) leaving 291k to upgrade next week and ensure cash generation for coming weeks.
T/D Butters to Answerth and Libba to Fyfe leaves 23.9k

    Cheers!

  14. Just read an article in the SA Advertiser about Heeney who said he has been playing with a torn ankle ligament since JLT2. He only trains 20-25 min per week to manage the pain.

“Its going to take a lot longer to heal than the 4-6 weeks a normal tear would take. Now it might hang around for the whole season. The prospect of a rest has not been discussed ”

  15. Haven’t seen anyone mention him but what are people’s thoughts of bringing in Oliver? He’s pretty cheap at the moment and has Gold Coast this round who he scored 140+ against both times last year. Obviously hasn’t been as good this year but he’s definitely got a strong scoring record and was considered a certain top 10 mid coming into this year

    1. ATLfan – for me, depends on who else you have in the premiums (and total numbers) missing for Rnd 13 bye now?

His BE is still 118 so price not going anywhere too fast, and if you have any of the the CATS premos, both gun rucks, Heeney, Eagles mids / Hurn etc etc … then you already have a lt out in Rnd13!

For me, he is now a wait until after his bye and re-assess.

      1. I’m of a similar mind to Macca. I had planned to bring him in after his price drop but I’m going to have enough issues with that R13 bye. On top of that, while his scoring has improved, I want to see more from him before I bring him in.

  16. Does Libba and Butters to Neale and Answerth make sense? would leave me with only 21 trades and 25k spare

  17. Just wondering how prepared coaches are if Dangerfield doesn’t play AND Constable is not the last minute replacement?
Strangely, Selwood is named as an emergency which makes me think the Geelong know already that Dangerfield won’t play and are playing funny buggers.
    My question is as follows:

t/up – I am playing Dangerfield as a forward this round
t/dwn – I am playing Dangerfield as a mid this round.

You can comment if you already have him on the bench maybe with the E on him.

    1. I’m feeling quite lucky to be able to put Danger in my Midfield.

I have Walsh at M6 and two of ..Ross, Atkins or Constable ( if named ) at M7/8.

Is seems to happen every year.As soon as you have made a couple of upgrades, and are looking forward to finally fielding less rookies.

Then the SC gods intervene and a couple of Premo’s go down.

Then you’re back to square one again.

I can only pray my downgrades go well. I may need them both on field at this rate!

      1

      0
    2. I’m with you FT. I will have Danger at M8, the E is on Hayes.
If Danger plays all good. If not and Constable is named, I’ll put him on field, depending on Hayes’ score. If neither are named and Hayes scores 65+ I’ll leave it. If he scores less, I’ll put Baker on field.
      Full-time job this!!

      1. The Senior Coaching Role does come with its challenges..

Danger out. ( lets just presume he is ) For me, brings a great chance to jump a few in the rankings.

He is so highly owned, its almost like a POD round.

Who will you choose to replace him ?

I’m already a bit thin down back with Whitfield, I hope I can make it up forward. With Danger Mid, I have Baker,Drew and one of Setters (E) / Corbett at F4/5/6.

Starting Dunkley at F4 may just be starting to pay off 🙂

Pretty excited for a big round.

Best of luck this week Sainter.

  18. Collins to Answerth a given.
Know it’s probably been asked a million times in diff forms, can’t feckin decide, but I currently have Danger in my mids, so:
TU: 1U1D with Libba to Fyfe
TD: Hold Libba, DD Butters or Pettrucelle to another rook and bank the cash this week.

    3

  19. Gibbons or Scrim to Answerth? Atm Scrimshaw is my d8 with Hore/Duursma 6/7

    Tu Gibbons
    TD Scrimshaw

In a word yes … however ! you can swap & change all you like Before the First bounce, but once the Round commences & Tonights Game is Locked ,any trades to following games will be set in concrete. No Reversal. So if you’re not sure about later games then muck around with it now because you’ll need to have it right before you hit the button,( if you intend to trade mid round.)
Sorry Mate : probs clear as mud but its all I have right now.

    2. I know it’s passed the start of the round but figured I’d respond for future reference.

The only trades you need to do before the first game of the round are if the player(s) you are trading are playing in that game (in this case, Sydney or EssenDone). Other trades can be done after but will not be reversible (as Syringe responded).

  21. I’ve been fairly sold on a double down all week.
That was with hately in mind though, now he isn’t named at all I feel comfortable with 1 up 1 down.
Petrucelle and drew out, answerth and yeo in.
Leaves me with only 1k in the bank which is potentially suicidal. But I have good rookies coming through, I was very close to starting yeo and i beleive he is a top 8 mid from this point on. He is 533k with a BE of 64. It’s the right time to get on.
Also drew will be handy through the byes, but I don’t let myself get too attached to rookies.
TU- trade petrucelle and gibbons for answerth/Corbett
    TD -Trade petrucelle/drew for answerth/yeo

    6

    6
    1. I went thumbs up for a few reasons;
Drew should do well with wines out and will make more cash
      Gibbons is probably maxed out
Will there be good downgrades available in the next couple of weeks.

Hately would be a great cow but only with JS.

Guess it also depends on the other rookies you have.
For me I missed the Richmond bubble boys so have a few rookies options to cull this week and next week (Collins, Petruccelle, Butters & Clark)
Minimum 1 up 1 down next week

    1. I chose Moore, ranked first in Rising star tackles. avg 5per game. Has been named back pocket with the likes of Roughy out of side and new names in has kept his spot. Id say Clarko loving the tackling. Is only getting 66% game time compared to the other two in Larkey and Corbett, still scored a 74 in there. With a full game could see more of it than a key fwd.

Held the 2km time trial record till last year….at AFL combine trials so can run.

  22. Liberatore

TU HOLD til byes he will come good

TD TRADE up to an uber he’s cooked his goose

  23. Do most people plan on just keeping Walsh till his bye? BE is gonna start being consistently higher. I understand the kids a freak and it would probably be silly to trade him in the next fortnight, but just wondering what everybody’s plans are for him?

    1

    1
    1. Decided to get Cameron in this week for the byes. Not alot of options out there round 14. But other than that will happily trade him to any uber mid. Can’t afford him to put up back to back bad scores holding him thinking he will get back to 450k, money is to important.
I’m In a minority but not having him could be beneficial.
He may well keep his price, but after the next 2 games he will probably drop his price for a bit.
Separating myself from the pack and getting fyfe or bont to replace him next week. Well that’s the hope. Have 7 premiums in the mids to most people’s 6.

      0

      0
    2. I am planning on holding until his bye as I have a fair number of issues to deal with before I get to a rookie mid averaging 95 for the season (3RA of 93).

  24. Still stuck on my upgrade for the week. Have got a really skinny backline with Lloyd, Williams and Moore rounding out the top 3. However also running with Libba at f5. So my question is:

TU – Trade Butters to a premo defender under $548k (Stewart, Laird)
TD – Trade Libba out for an ubr premium (Neale, Bont)

Could also get rid of constable, but was thinking these two are more priority

    What do you guys think
