  2. 2020 is looking like a write-off with this damn kung flu going on.
I’ve had to cancel two trips (one camping, one to NZ), no NBA or AFL, no Tame Impala concert, no more gym, and potentially work shutting down.
It’s going to be a very boring few months coming up.

    1. I hear ya Baps, easter bowls tournament at Yarraville /Footscray cancelled, big money tournament at Moama in May cancelled. This f@#$ing thing has taken the two things I love most away from me,footy and bowls. Oops, two of the three things i love most, better include the missus in that.

        1. yep – NRL press conference just finished … now suspended :

          – NRL staff asked to take all leave now through to end of May
          – suspended due to Qld borders closed not allowing time to relocate and also the advice from Biosecurity expert that it has changed badly over the last 24 hours – they can no longer guarantee the health and safety of the players …
          – they are also deciding now as allows NZ to leave before Qld close borders ..

They are fielding lots of questions around “will it survive”
          – will discuss with players over the coming days what this means
          – V’LANDY – still arguing that they are a $1 billion dollar business and the govt needs to look after them to help the economy going forward

          more to come …

          1. I’m one of the few around here who counts himself as a league fan, but if the government bails them out I will be absolutely filthy.

Taxpayers should not be paying for incompetent administration.

  4. Still have to study for Uni as it all online, but will still occasionally sneak out and play some golf down the road.
In free time probably play the ps4 going for platinum trophies or go back and try to watch the entire series of Mythbusters and treat that as study for Uni.

    1. Mythbusters should definitely count towards your uni stuff. If you’re doing something STEM-related, then each episode is basically a 45 minute lecture (albeit with less maths and more explosions).

      1. Aerospace engineering, so very similar to Mech eng. Can watch videos to assess the problem and how to approach the situation.

  5. Firstly will have to figure out how to get my son home from college in BNE if they shut down, and the NT borders stay locked.

If I can we’ll spend a couple of days a week out on the water NOT catching Barra as is our usual routine, and not have to worry about whether or not there is coverage.

  6. Think I might have a hip replacement, was due on 5th march, cancelled a couple of days before. Booked in for 19th march cancelled about 1/2 hour before I was due in theatre. Booked again for 2nd april, who knows. Plenty of time to make some adjustments to my team.

  7. Well for starters, due to my grey hair ( in my early 50’s)
Local Coles lets me in early for the pensioner’s hour, I’m not sure how to feel about that.

Might start New Campaign on xbox of
    Red dead redemption 2,

Been helping out some old folks in the area,
I live up in the Macedon Ranges.

And might start a Grand Final a day video
    Watching my Beloved Hawk.
And lastly contemplate why I swapped Grundy to Macrae for C on Thursday night after a few beers

          1. Haha..I totally get you soaking up your good fortune for the next two months or so, cause we clearly will be swapping ladder positions when/if SC resumes !!

    1. I have a 100,000 litre swimming pool if you want to do some laps. Just starting to chill a bit though !!

  8. Feeling weird . Sick of Covid-19 updates every 30minutes. There is only so much TV you can watch that’s not sports. I was planning to go fishing and camping but not sure if these activities are going to shut too.

  9. I’m going to get really fit by giving myself regular uppercuts for bringing in Roberton and Brayshaw at the last minute for Howe and Sturt.

  10. This is worse than everyone’s nightmare….I can only think of the 1999 preliminary final as something worse. Still waiting for revenge for that before its too late for me.
To make things worse, my local Bunnings had a sign up today that no bbq’s until further notice…no SC and no Bunnings bbq’s…maybe thats three things worse than this SC nightmare !!
Gonna spend the next few days writing politically incorrect letters to a few spuds in my team.

      1. Yes I know…..but until we come from 10 goals down at 3/4 time in a Granny to win by a point, I can’t help myself !!!

  11. Pack the boat and esky and get lost up an NT river somewhere.
The best form of self isolation there is!
    Bring on the Barra!

    1. Just make sure its not anywhere near me DD cause I’m the one not catching Barra on a regular basis lol.

  12. As of next Monday I’ll be thinking about how well I’d be playing on our Rich River golf trip.
Then the week after I’ll be thinking about what I would have been doing on my trip to Vietnam.
And then for the next three months I’ll be looking forward to our golf trip to Thailand which had bloody well better go ahead even if I have to drive there !!!

  13. Been watching stone skipping on kayo.
Gotta have at least a half dozen beers before watching.
Chumps are only getting like 7 skips. I’m thinking about hanging up the boots and having a crack.

  14. Finally play the witcher 3 wild hunt. Never started it before due to it probably taking up to much of my time.

Contemplate getting Naismith on my bench for the dollars.

    1. I’ve played a lot of games over the years, and Witcher 3 is definitely my #1 of all time. It took me 110 hours to finish the regular game, and the two DLCs (absolutely worth it) added an extra 30 hours.

  15. Reckon watching Collingwood’s granny losses at the rate of two per week might just about get us to the AFL restart !!!

  16. A suggestion for relieving the boredom…why not hear everyone’s happiest/greatest moment they have enjoyed in following their team, as well as the saddest/most disappointing ??

I’ll kick off with Leon Baker’s first goal in the final qtr of the 84 granny (honourable mention to Neale Daniher v Carlton in 1981), and see above for the saddest…Macca is right…I should stop mentioning it !!!

    1. Wighty, I’ll go a Roughead double. Happy memory was him ironing out Hannebery in 2014 GF, saddest was the poor handling of his retirement after he fought back from both an Achilles injury and cancer in his career.

  17. For me any Fletcher long bomb was awesome. But the stand out was the hird hug.
    Worst was Scott Lucas retiring.

  20. A sporting trivia question which was found popular amongst most football people;

What’s more, Collingwood not winning a GF or St Kilda winning a wooden spoon?

      1. Actually if you include the draws it was just a bit in the other direction…… until just recently 🙂 and that’s why the wording had to be precise.

At one event we had a St Kilda supporter for double points quote every year in order the wooden spoon….and he bloody got ‘em right too!!!

  21. A while back there were a number of site regulars put up a bit of a biography so others could get to know them a bit.
Including area you live , team followed , occupation, age and a few other tit bits.
Maybe we could get something similar going again!

  22. With the first signs of getting the season going again at some stage, what are we thinking in terms of players that we avoided for various reasons r1…..the S Hill/Doedee types.
I’m thinking correction trades for r2 e.g Cavara/Sturt, Parish/Townsend, then the Hill/Doedees r3……should be enough left over cash and one semi fattened cow to do it.
Thoughts ?? Lets talk about something !!!
