Mid-Pricers Review – Round 7

Get Them In!

Players your team needs

Last week I mentioned the group of fallen premo’s that have come up as possible keepers in the last few weeks. While Jeremy Howe and Alex Witherden failed to impress, there are many that look like excellent upgrade options.

Caleb Daniel is a legit premo keeper now scoring his 5^th 100 of the season with two 90’s to go with them. Extremely consistent football with a SC friendly role at the Doggies confirms him as an almost lock for top 10 forward, if not better. Sam Menegola has now dropped over $120k down to $419k and looks an appealing option for those limited on cash and wanting to upgrade immediately. With a breakeven down to 60, now is a great time to add him to your forward line. Another forward worth taking a punt on is fallen premo Josh Dunkley who is now averaging 107.3 over his last three games and could be a worth a punt at a slightly discounted rate.

Midfielders Hugh McCluggage, Dayne Zorko and Luke Shuey all scored 125+ and they all present excellent POD choices with low ownership and high ceilings should they find consistency. The pair of Lions have attractive breakevens and are worth a punt. McCluggage is a future star of the game, he will undoubtably be a popular choice in the years to come, while with Zorko we know he will dish out a few low scoring games along the way but his ability for huge games are a real plus.

Dependable Pies defender Jack Crisp is approximately $50k cheaper than his starting price and is sure to be a popular inclusion. Jeremy McGovern is now $40k cheaper and is another fallen premium who could get swooped up by coaches looking to upgrade their rookie defenders, while Jason Johannisen has built some form after his delayed start to the season and his cracked the ton in his 4^th game.

Pass Mark

If you have them, keep them.

Zac Williams take a bow, while Bachar Houli, Brad Shepperd, Brodie Smith and Christian Salem continue to get the job done for the coaches who backed them in from the start of the season. They have proven to be excellent selections.

Jacob Hopper continues to shine for the Giants and taking full advantage of the opportunities presenting for him. With every game he looks more and more comfortable at the highest level while providing better output to fellow proven midfield Mid-Price selections this season such as Dom Sheed, Angus Brayshaw, Brad Crouch, Jack Bowes and Tom Rockliff.

Yet another polished game from Pies excitement machine Jordan DeGoey with his 6^th consecutive 80+ game with an average of 94 over that period. He, along with others such as Rowan Marshall and Luke Dahlhaus bounced back with excellent games.

Chopping Block

If you have them, you face a tough decision.

Big name mid-pricers in Jeremy Howe, Tom Liberatore and Jade Gresham would be leaving their owners pulling their hair out over the weekend with yet another poor game for each of them. Howe, despite starting off the season strongly has now dropped just over $95k and looks set to continue to dive making him someone you may as well hang onto and hope he comes good. Libba has done his job of generating fast cash for his owners, but for those hoping to keep him throughout the season as a M8 should be looking to upgrade him asap. Gresham was averaging 96.8 after 4 rounds but now finds that average down to 81.6 after three consecutive poor games. He is now a touch over $400k but will continue to fall to around the $375k mark, where if an improvement in form is found, would see him snapped up by many as a bargain.

Bite the Bullet

These players need to be traded. Now.

 

No players this week that require an immediate trade, so for now those underperforming players are safe.
