Moloney v Mitchell

Written by Motts on May 11 2011

Both stripped of senior duties this year, both under $500k, both averaging about the same, both will play in the finals for you. Given a choice, who would you grab first?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. Motts, id be weary of getting anymore Melbourne players as they a ‘Triple Header’ Bye round in Round 16. By that I mean they have a bye with Freo and Adelaide in that round.

    If you are in the position Im in (With a couple of Melbourne, Freo and Adelaide Players already) it may be worth noting this fact as we head into the latter stages of the season.

    I know from experience that the Triple Header byes can be a nightmare after i got smashed in 2 of the 3 weeks previously with the byes.

  2. okay, I know that everyone has been saying upgrade mids over backs, but in my situation, I think j might be different.

    Back – Gibbs, Goddard, Grimes (!!!), Hurley, Heppell, Toy, Pederson, Otten, A.Johnson

    Midfield – Swan, Pendlebury, Boyd, Selwood, Harris, Liberatore, Curnow (!!!), D.Swallow, Pittard

    My options are

    Grimes —> Shaw
    leaves me with about $72,200
    or

    Grimes —> Puopolo
    Curnow —> Mundy/Priddis
    leaves me with about $205,000

    If I do the second one, the week after I can trade a defender cash cow out and use extra money to buy shaw after he has gone down in price a bit.

  6. might do the one trade this week, and bring in shaw (collingwood) and piss off grimes …. I will wait next week to trade out curnow ,and see how issac smith plays this week and the following week before I trade him in. hawthorn are prone to drop rookies if they lose a match or play a sub par game .

  7. Got $181,800 in the bank. Like every man and his dog, looking to get rid of Grimes and Curnow this week.
    Could perform a double upgrade this week, but only just:
    Grimes > H.Shaw
    Curnow > R.O’Keefe
    (to get Heater, I can only afford a ~$420,000 midfielder)
    Mindful that I already have Goodes in the forwards, but this combo would allow Stanley and Iles to be relegated to the bench, improving R8’s score by a projected 80 points. Like, dislike?

  8. On the topic of who to get, Swan already in mids, who are people bringing in for Curnow if they’re upgrading:

    Pendles = Thumbs up
    Mundy = Thumbs down

  9. Mitchell vs Moloney – have to go with Mitchell. Has the runs on the board in past years. Moloney will struggle to keep it up in the next few weeks with Jamar out, and if Trengrove doesn’t get off.

  10. I know it’s not the right forum for it, but has anyone got an idea of how bad Andy Otten’s injury is? Any idea how long he’s going to be out for?
