Motts Movers R10 – The Mids

Written by Motts on June 3 2010

Ah the engine room. The first place you should be looking when evaluating an opponent. Here are the blokes that are straddling the cutting edge of form AND value.

S Mitchell ($500,000 $+30,300 ($-76,300), 94.00) – Reckon it might be time to get back on Mitch. Came back from injury in R8 and since then has scored 146, 85 and 130 – that’s an average of, hello, 120! Has a point to prove after copping it from all and sundry in the media about his captaincy over the last few weeks. Pretty safe bet I’d say.

K Simpson ($501,400 $+5,600 ($+2,400), 107.80) – But just when you thought Sammy was a bargain, along comes K-Sim who, for the same price, gives you a higher average, a lower standard deviation (variation in his scores for those of you who haven’t done a Statistics course), and plays more games. You HAVE to love those facts even if you’re not a Blues supporter. With Judd, Murph and Gibbs taking the heat every week, Simmo just runs around and racks ‘em up. I already have him on my Boof List.

D Hannebery ($406,700 $+19,500 ($+161,600), 92.12) – I coulda sworn this guy was Ryan O’Keefe running around against the Hawks last week. That goal on the run he kicked from 50 was an absolute cracker. The good news: a 92 average, 4 tons over the last 6 weeks, a top score of 146, a $400k price tag and a 22 BE this week. The bad news: a 36 and a 55 in amongst those 100s. I definitely think the good outweighs the bad.

Who do you like? And who isn’t doing nearly enough to justify their position in your team?

  1. Was convinced you’d have Mitch Robinson $340,100 +$25,600 (+$68,200) BE -5 in this week after his back to back tons following the form/booze holiday.
Chose him originally as my X factor mid with plenty of upside but alas all he delivered in the first three rds was crap and consuquently had to go. The story of my season so far as Scotty Stevens was my other mid price unique which would have worked if Craigie had’ve played him in Otten’s role.

    Cue violin music now.

  2. i know this has sweet FA to do with mids but im hoping to get some feedback. have left the injured kennelly on the bench with the idea of getting waite once he’d done his time. however the recent form of fish and also duff have me wondering if this is the wisest move as i can afford either of the 3. i’d appreciate some considered opinions
