Not a lot to comment on up the premium end of the Forward selections this round so the theme for the R10 Forward Movers is value.
R Douglas ($467,400 $+22,100 ($+97,800), 83.90) – Over the last 3 rounds he’s averaged 109 so if you can overlook the fact he plays for Adelaide and are prepared to take a humungous risk then this could be your boy. Word of warning: between rounds 1 and 6 most of his scores were between 68 and 75 with a lazy 21 thrown in for good measure in R1.
J Grant ($311,400 $+27,900 ($+152,100), 76.67) – Traded this guy into my DT in R7 so I’ve been watching him for a few weeks and I have to say I haven’t been disappointed. He went #5 in the ’07 draft behind Krooz, Cotchin, Masten and Morton then missed the second half of the ’08 season with OP. Only played one game last year after his only kick in that game resulted in a behind. Came on in R5 this year and hasn’t looked back scoring generally between 65 and 76 but breaking out for 99 against the Roos. Still has plenty of upside if you’re looking for a replacement bench player or maybe even a F7.
L Jetta ($289,500 $+57,600 ($+57,600), 92.33) – Perhaps an even better option than Grant is Leroy. Jumped $57k this week after playing his 3rd game. Had a 50 in the first, jumped that up to 127 in the second and then eased off for 100 in the third – kicking goals in all of them. Played only 6 games in 2009 which was his 3rd year in the AFL but has built up his endurance and is fitting very nicely into Knightsy’s run and gun game plan.
Anyone else got a player that is even better value than these blokes? Don’t keep it to yourself – let us know about it!

Jack Riewoldt($455,000 $+28,400($+82,100),87.20)
Well he’s no Nick but is dubbed as the next Buddy, he’s cheap at this price and a risk, but if he continues his recent form, he could explode in price. Past three match AVE- 110

Your comment “he’s cheap at this price…” is based on what?
In the same comment you advertise his past 3 game ave as 110 which is what’s caused his price to increase to an unprecedented level.
Using references comparing him to his cousin and Buddy is akin to PA being hailed as the new Rocket Eade!
The only “Moving” Jumpin’ Jack will be doin’ this year is down given:
- plays for team that will win 4 games if lucky;
- opposition will double/triple team him when they finally take him seriously due to having no forward support;
- his current price demands scores of 110+ be consistently achieved.

HAWKINS, Tom ($413,300 $+27,100 ($+33,700),75.5)
He mixes his form a bit but since Ottens went down having a run on the ball has done his confidence the world of good and he is imposing himself on matches. He has averaged 100.66 in the last 3 weeks and with a break even of only 67 this week his prices looks set to go up!

Not really, but if he gets named week in, week out you just have to I reckon.

If you’ve got him and he keeps getting named week in, week out then you have to put him on the field. If you don’t have him then I think you’d wait to see at least one big score before bringing him in. Same thing goes for ROK.
Until then, there are better options available. Undervalued premiums that are already scoring 100′s. Goodes.

With that way of thinking you can put Rolly in that boat too, at $315k he scored 123 last round.

Yep, I would. For the sake of the game, lets just hope he hasn’t got OP. That guy is just magnificent to watch when he’s playing 100% healthy.

Rolly polly’s last quarter last week was sensational in that he imposed himself on three crucial contests for the first time this year. That’s great news for those of us that used the sheep factor to bring him in for Roo.

Roger – I would have preferred “Woosha”, “Woosh”, “JW” or “the most successfull captain/coach (in individual roles) in AFL history.

Fair enough – just to be on the record I have absolutely NO love for the Dorkers. Not because I’m an Eagles member and I’m an absolutely dedicated Sandgroper having represented WA and Aust. in another team sport but due to their inept management, recruiting and coaching structure bringing WA footy down and often considered the National whipping boys of the AFL comp.

PS: In referring to AFL history, this has no reference to the previous suburban State based competition… think its called the VFL.

what do u guys think about this
ball and hall out
okeefe and goodes in
it will leave me with 111.000 in the bank
ball and hall are too inconsistent and okeefe and goodes are cheap and they are premiums
what are your thoughts about these trades

Unless you’ve got 10+ trades left, wait ’til rd 16 and then decide as the SC finals are through rds 19-22.
General reference to trading up is you want to gain 15+ PPG which may be problematic with your proposition.

Hey wondering if anyone had any advice , got medhurst in my fwd and by the sound of things he s still a couple of weeks away but only have 8 trades left and 17,000 in the bank. Got silvagni , and gumby to upgrade but would rather not go the double trade , should I risk a trade to rioli or is there better options?

G’day guys. I’m looking for a good forward at the other end of the scale – I’m sitting on Hitchcock, Yarran and Gumbleton as my 7th, 8th and 9th forward at the moment and I want to downgrade one of them and upgrade another. Obviously I want the downgrade target (hopefully somewhere around 100k) to be someone who’s likely to get games. Any suggestions?
