Motts Movers R11 – The Backs

by Motts on June 8, 2010

More abbreviated work from me tonight. With Maguire going down for a couple I’ve give you 5 cheap(ish) upgrade options and one smokey downgrade target who should play out the year.

J Waite ($444,500 $+47,900 ($+37,000), 91.17)

S Gilbert ($497,300 $+22,000 ($-11,800), 101.82)

S Fisher ($478,100 $+17,700 ($-12,800), 93.89)

H O’Brien ($402,700 $+34,200 ($+28,500), 86.09)

J Grimes ($448,900 $-13,400 ($-52,300), 94.45)

B Sheppard ($254,400 $+26,000 ($+105,200), 66.00)

Who else are you considering?

PA’s obnoxious performance for R12 in Defense.

Chad ‘GC Bound’ Cornes R12 Score 10 ($368,200, $-56,400, ($-93,900), 75.27)

Chad started the season slowly avg 70.5 ppg in the first 4 rounds, then from R5-R8 he’d pulled his finger out and notched up four 100′s in a row, even Mottsy (MM R6) suggested to us, it might be time to start thinking about bringing him into our sides. But that form didn’t last long with piss poor scores of 61, 62 and a despicable 10 (Sorry Richo). I think it’s time Chad has a early holiday so he can prepare for move to the Gold Coast later this year.

Very good call PA. And nicely researched too. Richo lays the blame for her 16 point loss this week squarely at the feet of Chornes. She’s filthy at him.

I’m coming up against a team with him in it this week in my primary league. Already liking my chances.

For R11 not R12, my bad.

PA
If you think GC17 are considering Chornes then you’re a poorer judge than I thought.
The only potential role he’ll play up there is coaching and from all reports neither of the Cornes siblings are highly regarded in that function.

He’s was one of the names on the GC17 shopping list at the start of the season, Deano.

From memory, that list was wide to say the least – was Hey Jude on it? He’d be a far better leadership proposal than Chornes.
Whilst on the GC17, my sources suggest its Harbrow and Hill even though only one can go – Hill by trade???

Harbrow got a offer he couldn’t refuse from them, so his gone. Hill might be playing for a SA team next year so I’ve been told. What about Hurn, GC17 could need a ball hog like him in their back line next year.

i’m worried given GMAC’s influence however I think Woosha has made him aware of the level of respect and therefore leadership role he will be offerred (not to mention the massive salary cap underpay we can offer in $$$)

Anyway, I thought the big Q-Tip has his bags already packed, as you’ve mention they can only take one?

One non contracted however the trade options are unlimited with uncontracted players!

I’ve had Waite since day dot and have ridden the roller coaster that has been his 2010 season. But, that [hopefully] is behind him and it’s time to enjoy his pt scoring. He’s been on fire of late and provided he can avoid the judiciary he’ll play out the season with some solid scoring.

He’s a bargain buy for me.

Sheppard is going along nicely but if you’ve missed the boat [it set sail a few rounds back] then i’d consider a cheaper cheapy like a Webberly.

50/50 but I like your focus on the Saints as I keep on saying, their last 4 rds are montys for big scores compared to the other premium teams.

I was weighing up the two of them this time last week and ended up going Gilbert purely on the basis that he was in half as many sides. He’s not unique but more unique than Fisher.

ok guys listen up:

which one of these 3 would you upgrade:
Matt Maguire, Phil Davis or Jackson Trengrove?

which is the biggest liability for the rest of the season? I’m leaning towards Trengrove, but Maguire is out for a month and Davis just got wiped out by Sandi.

please help….

Maguire is listed as 2-4, mS – that may or may not be a month.

I’m with Deano – JT.

Also he’s missed 6 games this year to injuries, which puts a question mark over his fitness and how many more games he will miss.

How about Gilbee? He is looking nice at $475 with an average of 101

no probs. Im thinking of downgrading Bastinac to Gysberts, then upgrading Maguire, but I dont know who to…any suggestions?

Backlne is:
Goddard, Hodge, Shaw, Gilbee, Broughton(inj), Enright, Maguire, Sheppard and Roberton.

I will have $576,200 to spend. I can get anyone except for Lake.

Im thinking out of Gilbert and Fisher. I’m leaning towards Gilbert.

What do you thnk?

Grab Gilbert if you can, I’ve been looking at his numbers and they stack up nicely. Apart from 50 odd in rd 4 his lowest score is 80 odd and has scored 100+ in his last 3. Get ON.
