Motts Movers R11 – The Forwards

Thrillers

Is is any wonder the Cats and the Hawks are dominating right now with this kind of talent up front? It makes for a very intriguing match-up this Saturday night at the G.

Steve Johnson ($501,900, 147, 111.44, 31) – SJ saw last week that he wasn’t a topline Thriller and the Steve was angry that day, my friends. He took his frustrations out on the unfortunate Dogs to the tune of 147 to bring his Last 3 Average to 133.67. Over those 3 weeks he’s kicked 12.6. Only scored 79 against the Hawks 7 weeks ago so maybe don’t bring him in this week but with a 31 BE he is going to go up in price again.

Jarryd Roughead ($488,400, 133, 104.90, 79) – Continues to cut a swathe through opposition teams. Since R4 he’s scored 6 tons on the trot, gone up $115k and taken his average up 23 points a game. That is massive! Has his work cut out for him this week against the Cats but he scored 109 against them back in R5.

Matthew Stokes ($408,500, 112, 91.22, 33) – Bet you didn’t expect to see this guy’s name mentioned here! Over the last 3 games, Stokes has averaged 113.7 making him 6th on the list of Forwards (behind SJ, Buddy, Rough, Kennedy, and Petrie) for that period. He’s never averaged over 86 for an entire season so don’t be rushing out to buy him but on his recent performances he deserved a mention.

Honourable mentions: Neon Leon, ROK, Brad Green, Goodesy, Sam Gilbert and Cyril.

Chillers

Travis Varcoe ($291,500, 26, 65.50, 116)

Josh Hill ($258,600, 35, 71.22, 114)

Stephen Milne ($273,700, 52, 67.80, 81)

Drillers

Matthew Jaensch ($354,400, 90, 75.67, 55) – That’s 6 games in a row he’s scored between 85 and 97.

Tendai Mzungu ($140,700, 64, 51.67, -46) – On the off chance that you didn’t bring him in last week – and over 64,000 of us did – he’s still worth it.

Alex Johnson ($241,900, 95, 63.71, -7) – I’d forgotten he was a D/F DPP – makes him even more valuable.

Special mentions: Jack Steven, Jeff Garlett, Jack Watts, and Jeremy Howe (1 game: 97).

Final note: Alan Didak for $279k?!? At some point he’s going to turn it around, folks. Who is going to break first and bring him on board? His BE this week is 46. In the last 2 he’s scored 86 and 64.

  1. Good day all,

A THUMBS UP or DOWN request:

I’m wanting to do a double upgrade this week. Harris has to go, and I also want to move Stanley on. However, I would love to get both Deledio (BACK) and Priddis (MID), but I fall about $2,000 short). So, my other thoughts (a bit cheaper) are Broughton (DEF) and Mitchell (MID).

    So, here’s the choices:

    THUMBS UP
    Harris to Mitchell
    Stanley to Deledio
Approx. $70K left in bank afterwards

    THUMBS DOWN
    Harris to Priddis
    Stanley to Broughton
Approx. $40K left in bank afterwards

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

  2. Excellent wrap up which begs the question in upgrading to dpp players re FWDS/MID. Is the current climate now to up date or is better to hold on for another one /two weeks.
My 7th midfielder is Cotchin and 8th forward is Darling. I am looking to upgrade both to DPP. I have no link back to the midfield and already have Chappie and ROK as dpps.

    Up: trade now
    Down: wait until bargains appear

  3. Stevie J would slide lovely into my forwards, but with my team already having selwood and chappy i cant afford to have them all sit out for there bye. But me being a confident man, I wont be playing that week of the finals anyway!

  4. If Renouf and Hale come back into the team Roughy will likely stay as a key forward and his price will drop.
Are there any hawks out there who can give their thoughts on this?

  5. i may be completely stupid, but if geelong have the 2nd week of finals as a bye, then doesnt that mean if you finish top 4 in your league and you win in the first week then you dont play anyone in the 2nd week meaning it doesnt matter if you alot of geelong players becuase your not acctually playing anyone? unless your going for ranking instead of league. I hope that makes sense.

  6. Who to upgrade to in the forward line?
I have Franklin, Pavlich, Chappy, Riewoldt (Stk), Goodes, Petrie
I’m going to upgrade Darling to someone, so any suggestions would be helpful.
I was thinking either: Rioli, ROK or Fyfe
ROK is very up and down, however all forwards are. Fyfe has shoulder problems and with Barlow back in may not get the scores. And Rioli has injury worries so I’m not sure.

    ROK thumbs up

    Rioli thumbs down

  7. I was just wondering where my team’s value sits in regards to others out there…

    I’m currently sitting at $12,000,800.

Is that great/good/average/bad compared to where you’re at?

P.S – Don’t mean to hijack the Movers post, but didn’t know where else to put it!

  8. So I am keen for straight upgrade this week of Chris Knights, he has done his dash…
Neon Leon is putting his name on lights lately, can he continue this resurgence?
LeCras the Frenchman is also putting his name up for consideration…
Can’t decide which way to go or should I be looking elsewhere?

    Thumbs up… Neon Leon
    Thumbs down… Frenchy

  9. Regardless of hale or roof coming back, roughhead will surely spend alot more time up the ground, he is a confidence player and its important for him to get his hands on the ball, that doesnt happen with buddy drawing most inside 50 hitups.
