Motts Movers R13 2013 – The Rucks

Written by Motts on June 25 2013

Premiums

Todd Goldstein ($558,800, 113.08, 118) –  Has only missed the ton 3 times this year and those 3 scores were 82, 86 and 98. Top score: 163. Best ruck to have in the SC game.

Dean Cox ($537,000, 111.5, 77) – Anyone who thought the emergence of the next man on this list would affect Massive’s output needs to think again. Cox has even outscored him over the last 2 weeks! In that time he also hasn’t scored less than 84. If you can’t fit him into your onfield Rucks, chuck him in your Forward line #versatileCox

Nic Naitanui ($588,300, 108.43, 131) – Having said all that, Nic Nat hasn’t been THAT dusty. Since R7 he hasn’t missed the ton. If you haven’t got him yet, its time to get him now. He’s fresh, he jumps all over everyone bar none, and he does things never seen on the footy field before. Convinced?

Jarryd Roughead ($532,300, 101.17, 84) – Started slow but is now well and truly firing. Kicking sausage rolls like Lance Whitnall used to eat ‘em (sorry Red). 90 or more in 8 of his last 9 games and his tons have been DECENT – in amongst them are 3 gems: a 145 last week against the Weagles, a 130 spanking of GWS and a 126 v The Swans.

At this stage, I honestly can’t recommend any other ruck to you other than those 4 blokes. Will Minson ($547,500, 111.75, 152) staked a claim early but over the last 2 weeks has faded with scores of 82 and 96. With a sizeable BE on his head this week, I’d hold off and see if he can shake his funk against Melbourne.

Midpricers

For those of you with SC Draft teams or serious financial constraints, run the glasses over:

Zac Clarke ($458,700, 100.6, 70) – No Sandi? No worries. Freo keep winning and Zac has pumped out 5 scores between 87 and 113. No one has a better SC Finals run than Freo either: GWS, The Dees, Port and St Kilda

Matthew Leuenberger ($459,200, 97, 62) –.I flicked him when he sat out R10 but he only spent a week on the sidelines (2 if you count his bye) and has come back and gone bang! bang! raising his bat twice. Has a superb run once they get Hawthorn out of the way this week. Get this: GC, North, Melbourne, Port, St Kilda, Richmond, GWS, The Dogs, and then Geelong in the SC GF. Sheesh, Vossy’s boys might even make the Finals with a run like that!

Ivan Maric ($461,900, 96, 64) – His past couple of months haven’t inspired a lot of confidence but based on his 2012 average (113), the first 4 rounds of 2013 (over which he averaged close to 110), and his next 3 opponents (St Kilda, North and GC) you could mount a good case that he’s pretty cheap right now.

Rookies

Thomas Nicholls ($217,400, 101.67, -83) – You’ve already missed out on a $100k jump in price but there’s still plenty of cash in this cow with a BE like that.

  1. Loving the effort put in to the Movers posts this week Motts! They are of an exemplary standard, as I sense some renewed post-byes enthusiasm.

  2. what do you guys think about Sandilands?
I’ve got Blicavs and Nicholls and one of them can hold the R2 spot for a few weeks. But if Sandi is eased into it in his first few games back and drops a bit in price could he be worth a punt?

  3. I’ve now got Goldstein, Maric, Blicavs and Nicholls as my ruck division with Cox playing in the forward line.

Agree about Goldy being the best ruck option.
Blicavs is not someone i’d be getting into the team but those that have kept him would be happy with his last three scores.
Nicholls is set for a big price rise again with a -83BE according to SC stats.

Disappointed with Maric’s stagnant form though. Lift oh mulleted one.

  4. I’m tossing up between Minson & Goldy this week. At the moment I’m leaning towards Minson only because his last 4 opponents in the season (our finals) are quite a bit easier than Goldy’s.
My rucks will be solid after this trade – Minson OR Goldy, Nic Nat (Bench: Gawn & Nicholls)…….and have Cox & Roughead in the forward line…..options aplenty!

  5. I’d like Mr Rowe to play this week to just keep ticking the points over and $$ up. Let’s get it done.

Who else STILL has Currie sitting on the bench? Looking like a full year prospect for me at this stage…. /facepalm

  6. I still have Currie 🙂
Thinking I’ll offload Vlas & Goodes this week, one for Gibbs and one to fund next weeks last prem mid upgrade. Thinking Danger or Fyfe.

  7. Speaking of a ‘Lance’ eating sausage rolls…

Has anyone else noticed the paunch on Lance Franklin? His muffin top hasn’t quite turned into a spare tyre yet, but it’s not far off…

  8. Hi motts, I’m a newbie to SC this year and just discovered this app. I was wondering if you could give me any useful tips to what makes a good team and when to use my trades etc for my next years SC team?
