Motts Movers R12 – The Backs

by Motts on June 16, 2010

J Kelly ($469,700 $+9,000 ($-4,100), 95.09) – this one could be considered controversial given he’s had a few 60’s, 70’s and 80’s sprinkled in amongst the 100’s he’s scored (including a 151 last week!). I’m just going on gut feel about him. Last 3 round average 103.00. BE: 52.

B Waters ($390,900 $+31,000 ($+239,800), 84.25) – was super value at the start of the year but after scoring 121 and 105 in his last 2 I’m declaring he’s still great value now. Saw him against the Blues a couple of weeks ago and he was getting TONS of it. BE: -9 (that’s right MINUS nine).

H Shaw ($389,600 $-16,300 ($-113,500), 90.82) – he’s been rubbish lately (last five round average: 69.60) because he hasn’t been coping well with a back tag. The only reason I’m including him is that I think he has to bottom out soon. BE: 92.

The only other bloke I would mention here is Jarad Waite but I’ve been telling you about him for weeks so I won’t bug you any more about him. Suffice it to say that HE IS STILL MAGNIFICENT VALUE!! Give Tadgh and Josh Hunt another week or two to come down a little more but great D6 options if you’re looking for cheap rookie upgrades.

Ratten say Bower is finally back! I’ve had him since the start and he’s played 2 games (ave. 120).

I picked up Bower the week when he got injured after lockout so he hasn’t played for me – I hope he’s back so my invested spondoola finally reap dividends.

IF i had Bower i’d be stoked to see him back but i don’t and while he seems great value the risk is far too great to bring him in .. surely??

Xavier Ellis ($319,200, $+10,900 ($-72,900) 70.17)

Picked up by the Hawks in the 2005 National Draft (Priority, Pick 3), Xav made his mark in the big league on GF day 2008 v Geelong. He was best on ground IMHO, with 28 touches, 21 by foot, 7 by hand, 14 marks and booted 1 goal. In 2009 Ellis was prone with injuries only playing in 11 games scoring a avg of 73.8 ppg. This year he has played in all 12 games to date and scoring 117 against the Crows on the weekend, I think his finally got his confidence back along with his form of 2008. He could be a good trade down for Goose and you’ll still make a profit of $40k which helps come finals time.

No love for Kepler again? Just another lazy ton last weekend in a losing effort and from what I saw at the ground he was everywhere.

Might be controversial and i don’t want to be accused of dissing Bambi but GAJ doesn’t represent the best value. I know his price has dipped slightly but that’s cause he’s come back to the pack. Without knowing your team players like Hodge, Goddard and Swan are scoring similarly at the moment. And you’d be crazy if you left yourself with 2 trades with this much to go. You aware you don’t have to trade each round??

What do u think?
I have 3 trades left and no money.
Should I trade out Sanilands for Skipper and Ball for Scully and use the left over money to get ablett? I think id be stupid if I didnt do it. What do u think Sinclair39?

I have a forward line issue: with both Brown and Monfries injured I really cant afford to keep both around. Figuring an upgrade to Betts or J Kennedy. Any suggestions?
