Motts Movers R10 – The Forwards

Thrillers

Jarryd Roughead ($472,300, 118, 101.78, 80) – There are 19,695 coaches out there right now that are praying to the SC Gods that whatever moves Clarko makes between now and the end of the year that he keeps Jarryd in the ruck. The Orange Roughie bashed out his 5th ton in a row on the weekend. Interestingly his stats didn’t come from the ruck though – he only had 5 hitouts – they came mostly from an increase in marks and kicks (he had his biggest game for the year in both). Up against a Sandi-less Freo at the G this week you can be sure he’s going to stretch his streak to 6.

Lance Franklin ($535,700, 109, 117.67, 106) – Rough’s brother in brown and gold arms is also flying at the moment – he kicked his 4th ton in a row last week. Accuracy is still an issue though – against The Mutts he kicked 3.5 taking his tally for the year to 35.34. If he increased his conversion rate to 75% his scores (and price) would be massive.

Colin Sylvia ($481,700, 113, 107.56, 116) – Col’s the leading SC scorer at the bruise-free-Dees and the only one to be maintaining the rage whilst those around him faulter. Last week’s 113 was his 5th ton in 9 games and took his average over the last 3 to 107.7. Plays most of his remaining games in Melbourne and has a pretty nice run in the last 4: WC (ES), Richmond (MCG), Gold Coast (MCG) and Port (AS).

Honourable mentions: Stevie J and Pav.

Chillers

Matthew Bate ($314,400, 62, 47.67, )

Stephen Milne ($288,100, 52, 69.56, )

Ricky Petterd ($320,100, 65, 66.33, )

Drillers

Robbie Gray ($340,900, 132, 80.50, -16) – Robbie’s gone bang, bang in the last couple scoring 114 and 132. He’s always had a lot of potential but struggled with persistent hammy problems last year managing only 9 games. He missed the R3 game against the Cats this year but that’s it. Faces the Blues this week at home and then has a bye.

Leon Davis ($374,300, 113, 77.43, 52) – Hellooooooo Neon! 2008 avg: 95.3, 2009 avg: 111.4, 2010 avg: 69.2. Last 3 week avg: 100.3. In SC as a Forward but spending most of his time in Defense lately. And getting quite comfortable back there too judging by his SC scores.

Matthew Jaensch ($342,200, 95, 73.88, 50) – How’s the consistency been with MJ recently? His last 5 scores have oscillated between 85 and 97. At $342k I’d say that makes him a bargain.

Special mentions: Sam Gilbert (encouraging signs), Isaac Smith (lets hope he gets named this week), Tendai!, Tom Lynch of the Gold Coast variety, Matthew Stokes, Ben McGlynn (I’ve had him since the start of the season – you don’t have to go through the pain – just pick him up this week for $315k), Michael Newton, Jack Steven, Brad Green, Matthew de Boer and Chris Knights

  2. I was on the juice when I traded in Juice, now he’s on the juice for the next 4-6 weeks with a foot injury. Waste of a trade, now Juice will turn into Gu 😉

  4. Serious lack of options in the forward/back department at the moment… I’m just going to finish off the mids this week then hold fire until something obvious appears. Mind you I’m only going for league wins.

  6. My only trade in the end was Libber > Mzungu

I was just about to upgrade to Slyvia but didn’t for some reason. And he got injured and scored low so hopefully his corked thigh is not serious, his price will drop and I will get him this week. AM looking at Thompson for next week, then fisher the week after. Stevie J looks a good option but a little too unreliable for me I think!
