Thrillers
Gary Ablett ($584,100, 121, 124.82, 139) – All hail the return of the perma-captain.
Scott Pendlebury ($558,900, 114, 125.33, 144) – Making serious claims to being perma-captain himself.
Josh Kennedy ($444,100, 124, 98.62, 80) – 4 centuries on the trot.
Honourable mentions: ROK, Daniel Wells, Ryan Griffen, Jack Redden, Domenic Cassisi, Sam Mitchell, Brent Moloney, Tom Rockliff, Nat Fyfe, Matt Priddis, Luke Ball, and Luke Hodge.
Chillers
Brent Prismall – hasn’t scored above 52 in 3 games this year – no wonder he’s struggling to get named.
Jared Brennan – the screamer he took doesn’t make up for the 71 avg over his last 3.
Rory Sloane – 68 avg over his last 3.
Drillers
Luke Shuey ($397,000, 110, 90.85, 76)
Paul Chapman ($409,800, 109, 99.09, 69) –.this is the last time you’ll see him this low for the rest of the year.
Isaac Smith ($239,400, 112, 94.50, -53) - ROTY?
Special mentions: Cameron Ling, Ed Barlow, Shane Savage, Allen Christensen, Clayton Hinkley (ton in his third game), Danyle Pearce, Sam Iles, Daniel Cross (that’s 2 tons in a row now – is he back?), Bernie Vince, Jordan Lewis (suspended this week), and Liam Shiels.

Well done to Power’s Dean Brogan who has announced his retirement and will retire at the end of the season. Premiership player in 2004 and the only player to win a premiership in AFL and a championship in the NBL for the 36ers. All the best for the future big fella. Some big shoes to be filled now!

or make premuim sideways trade and waste another trade later on cashing in on Smith????

Maybe downgrade him? There aren’t any solid ruck options that you could sideways trade to (bar Jamar, Mumford, Jolly, and all have their risks)
Depends how many trades you have left, Goldstein might not be too bad? Unlike yourself, i don’t have Z. Smith to rely upon when North have their bye, and he is on fire at the moment!

Guys I know he’s not gonna pump massive scores but if u want cover just for cox and rest of year, vickery looks good in the Richmond forward line, he’s got some talent and he’s pushing jack up the ground. Might trouble the jamison less blues this week.

Nic Nat, can i run an idea by you?
I’m leaning to Hale at the moment, to use the cash to upgrade Darling to Cloke.
Although, i just realised, Kurt Tippett is 20 K more than Hale, should i consider him? He has more upside than Hale, right?
Like or Dislike:

K tippet? Arghhhh
More upside without a doubt BUT I’d never get him in sc imo he has so much potential to be a great player but he is so inconsistent and goes missing for long periods of time, much like dangerfield and the always injured knights and porplyzia, its a shame, maybe wait til teams come out lobbe looks like a cheap option who should hold his spot if port wants to develop him now that brogan is going.
I traded sandilands for griffin when he got injured, my stroke of genius I guess, but I’m a big Nba fan and seeing Yao ming hurt his foot I knew sandi would struggle to come back so early, still don’t know why Harvey risked him against Brisbane when Griffin was more than capable of doing the job and give 211 another week or two to rest.

Im stuck on what to do with J.Selwood (7 prem mids ATM)… tossing up between either keeping him and hoping he gets 140/game on return, or getting in ROK, Chappy or Pav. My Backs and Rucks are set, just gotta tinker with Selwood to finalise my FWD line.
Swan, Pendles, Gazza, Bartel, Scotty T, Cotchin (SELWOOD, Heppell, Duncan)
Fyfe, Petrie, Goodes, Boomer, Buddy, Dawes
(F7 is currently between I.Smith, Darling, Mzungu, Tappscott).
Pav — adding him in would decimate my team in round 16 bye (Pav, Fyfe, Mzungu, Scott T, Lower, Broughton).
ROK — cant really see any reason not to get him
Chappy — would Bartel, Duncan and Chappy out in round 22 be too much to cover??
Do I need to trade at all?? Will Selwood smash out some big scores on return and be a solid POD assuming most ppl would have traded him out already??

Trade him out buddy, of no real worth for the rest of the season, at MOST, he’ll play 5 more games for the rest of the year, and that’s if Geelong don’t rest him for the finals.

Thanks for the advice guys…. Im leaning toward ROK.
Nic_Nat…. good advice mate, but Ive already got Gazza. I need to bolster my FWD-line I feel (See F7 below).
Im short on trades (thats all im giving away), but got an almost Premium team and have great MPP flexibility, solid bench coverage and enough trades to cover for byes, injuries, etc. Would love to still be in the running for overall, but at 1400 im way too far off the pack I feel.
Gibbs, Fisher, Goddard, Deledio, Shaw, Broughton, Lower (Heppell, McKernan, Buckley)
Swan, Pendles, GAZZA, Bartel, Scotty T, Cotchin (SELWOOD, Hibberd, Duncan)
Cox, Smith (McCauley, Tippett)
Fyfe, Petrie, Goodes, Boomer, Buddy, Dawes, Smith (Darling, Mzungu, Tappy)
Adding ROK in for Selwood would give me a solid FWD line, and still leaves me 6 Premium Mids with max MPP flexibility aswell.

Dont know where to put this, but im watching the coach crawf video, and Crawf has only 5 trades left.

BTW, there’s no ruckman with the surname Dawson. If you meant Dawson Simpson for the cats, then NO. His 83 in his first game of the year last week was handy, but expect him to get dropped back to the magoos for Ottens this week.
Lobbe if you need to downgrade – see some of fishtopher’s comments. Griffin if you want a replacement for 211 – fourth highest ruck avg (106, albeit from 4 games) and only a touch over $330k.

1. Jacobs – been consistent enough and if you’re playing purely league win then the round 16 multi is a bonus.
2. Vickery – has been ok but can really spud it up as well.
3. Griffin – will score better than the other two but will be out as soon as 211 comes back which will be SC finals time.
If Jolly gets named this week get on him I reckon. Might be a little slow to get going but he doesn’t have any byes to come and should be flying come finals.

Rucks are bloody killing me.
Three weeks ago I had Sandi on the bench and avoided trading Smith to Vardy as I needed Smith’s points and the trade more than the cash.
Two weeks ago Smith got injured and I was looking at a doughnut, decided to downgrade to Vardy for less cash.
One week ago Sandi came back and Vardy got dropped.
Now I have Sandi injured, less trades and no f’ing cover.
Faaaaaaaark!

Jacobs, solely on the fact his had a few more seasons (I think?!) under his belt. As a Tigers man I love Vicks, but as you can see with Jroo and co, sometimes not enough ball goes into their forward half. Overall, I think Jacobs is more seasoned and experienced.

All this Sandi-Ruck-Talk has got me thinking. Originally, I was gonna wait a few weeks and hope Jamar drops to 380k-400k so I can get him in perfect for finals time. But after a lot of discussion, I have realised it’s probably better to go Cox/Smith/Okay Ruck (e.g. Vicks, jacobs, hale)/Never-heard-of-ruckman. Only problem is, going 211>300k ruckman is solely on money purposes and I already have 350k. What should I do, get a gun ruck or a middie?

Its a tough one, i’ve been playing around with the idea all day, and it really depends on how many trades you have, and if you need the cash else where, because there are no REAL solid replacements for Sandi at the moment. If you have cover, maybe wait on Jamar or Mumford

Worth holding off Busta.
Zmith should average 90 for the rest of the year and even the best rucks around, besides Cox and Sandi, will only average 10 or 15 more.
Use the big bucks to get a top notch mid and a gun fwd or def. Will get you easily more than the 10 – 15 points from one ruckman.

I only have two trades after that so the cash I get from downgrading to Lobbe will be enough to upgrade Dudak to ROK and Gibbs to whoever I want in Rd 23.

Maybe not such a bad thing. Dockers have a rough ride coming home and it seems like Pav has lingering injury issues.
I’ve got Chappy and being the gun that is and having been relatively quiet so far I expect him to smash it for the rest of the year.
ROK is in good form (I’ll be getting on him for the Suns game next week) but if you can cover the bye for Chappy then I think he is the better option.

Whereas Lewis gives a little bump and bloody Monfries falls over to act for a free kick and gets two. The AFL need to crack down on acting it’s ridiculous, and Monfries is definitely one person who constantly plays for frees. He isn’t hard enough. I am an Essendon supporter and I can’t stand watching him. And now he causes another person to get 2 weeks on the sidelines is disgraceful.

Maxy speaking from experience there
Stay away from Cheney dave IMO. He’ll probably play this week with another couple of outs for the Hawks (will the pain ever end) but he’ll be first in line to go the week after.
Ben Jacobs is only about $24k more, should play for the rest of year and has the potential to pull out some genuinely good scores.
If you can’t afford him then Golby could be an option (don’t know that much about him) or even Christian Howard has better JS than Cheney with the Dogs surely looking to bleed youth for the rest of the year.

My midfield, when factoring in DPP players that are elsewhere on the park:
Premiums: Deledio, Gibbs, Goddard, Boyd, Pendlebury, Priddis, Ablett, Pavlich, A Swallow, O’Keefe
Non-Premiums: Heppell, Jacobs, Harris, Prestia, Mzungu, Dangerfield, Smith, Krakouer
With freed up cash from 211 i’m planning an upgrade of one of these, probably Harris.
Who should i drill for oil for?? Swan stands out as a good value but he’s in approx 50% of teams so if i pick him it’s a defensive move against other teams in my leagues. Fyfe’s another that jumps at me. Hodge or Mitchell? Thoughts??
