Motts Movers R14, 2013 – The Forwards

Written by Motts on July 3 2013

Premiums

Lance Franklin ($489,400, 93.08, 100) – He’s back. Last 3 games have seen him produce 124 against The Blues, 97 against The Eagles and 100 against The Lions. I wouldn’t bring him in this week – his last 3 games against the Cats have produced scores of 62, 89, and 95.

Jimmy Bartel ($539,600, 110, 113) – I’ve said enough about Jimmy already this year. He’s one of 2013’s  must-have Forwards and about 1/3rd of us do.

Paddy Ryder ($482,200, 79.2, 15) – Missed him in the Rucks section last night so I’m gonna mention him here. His average is nothing to jump up and down on Oprah’s couch about but over the last 3 he’s gone for 110, 101 and 98. That’s on top of another couple of tons and a 90 earlier in the season. Next 3 matches are against Port, The Dogs and GWS.

Finally, don’t forget about Delicious Cyril Rioli ($532,300, 111, 58) who should return this week. His last 3 against Geelong have been 114, 89, and 124.

Midpricers

Jack Riewoldt ($441,500, 90.15, 43) –  The problem with J-Roo is the variability of his scores. Some weeks he’ll bash out  138 (as he did in R2 against The Saints) in others he’ll meekly submit a 46 (as he did against Essendon in R9). He’s strung a few together over the last 3 though: 95, 108, and 116 (he loves competing against his cousin).

Jack Gunston ($480,200, 83.45, 94) – What a year Norman is having. Since a 70 in R7 against Adelaide, he’s produced scores of 102, 128, 107, 100, 94, and 103. Lance who?

Jason Porplyzia ($300,800, 58.33, -19) – Mottsy’s Dodgy Midpricer of The Week averaged 86 in ’08 and 87 in ’09. Still only 28 and over the last couple has belted out an 86 and a 116. Tough next 4 weeks with WC, Collingwood, Geelong and Freo but then has a bit of an easy run Port, North, The Dogs and Melbourne. In the SC GF he meets the Coasters again (over there).

Rookies

Jed Lamb ($115,600, 28.4, -26) – He’s actually played 4 games already but last week broke out in the wet against The Blues for 78.

Brodie Murdoch ($147,000, 40.25, -36) – Has now played in Rounds 5, 6, 13, and 14. Last week ran with Lids all day and scored 67.

Viv Michie ($115,900) – Scored a 40 on debut in the vest.

  2. Has anyone seen The League, the US sitcom about fantasy football? It is absolute gold. I feel like my supercoach behaviour/addiction is almost acceptable when watching it.

  3. One of the reasons I didn’t start with Lance this year was worrying about the Cloke factor of last year. From memory lance started in the mid 600’s at the start of the year and now out of all my forwards he is ave the least. With these figures it seems my initial fears have come to fruition

  4. The Aaron Black conundrum.

Some expert advice would be much appreciated!

Wanted to trade him last week, but held on since he was playing the traffic cones set up by Western Sydney Giants (in name only), and he repayed the faith with a grand total of 29 points playing the entire match! Geoffrey Boycott’s grandma would have done a better job I get the feeling.

His breakeven is up to 128 now.

Contemplataing trading him to Walker or NicNat, but their breakevens are 157 and 152 respectively. So maybe will hold on hoping he can do something against the Tigers??

t/u Hold tight for the moment
    t/d Cut cut cut

Any suggestions please? Only have 6 trades, and current forward-line Buddy / Bartel / Stevie J / Rockliff / Breust / Black (Staker / Kennedy B)… Have premiums in every other position so worrying about them is not an issue
