Motts Movers R12 – The Backs

Written by Motts on June 14 2011

Thrillers

Sam Fisher ($494,400, 108, 110.27, 110) – The in-form backman in the comp right now. Has only missed cracking 100 3 times in 11 games this season. Has a R14 bye so don’t pull the trigger to bring him in just yet.

Shannon Hurn ($423,300, 109, 87.91, 47) – Hurny is right on Fish’s tail though. In the last month his scores have been 109, 97, 140 & 109. Has his second bye the week after Fish so again you may want to hold fire.

Andrew Carrazzo ($426,900, 109, 92.64, 83) – Has picked up Jordan Russell’s (see below) slack this year taking his average up almost 14pts a game from 2009. Has scored tons the last 3 weeks in a row and is a D/M utility.

Honourable mentions: Graeme Johncock, Scott Thompson (of the Kangaroo variety), Grant Birchall, Paul Duffield, and Brett Deledio.

Chillers

Jed Adcock ($370,700, 68, 95.55, 144)

Dustin Fletcher ($314,300, 24, 76.00, 132)

Jordan Russell ($291,200, 69, 72.09, 64)

Drillers

Alex Johnson ($276,200, 85, 66.38, 13) – Last 3 game average 85.33. If you’re getting to the point of doing sideways trades I think he’s got a lot of upside.

Luke McPharlin ($348,400, 105, 78.27, 58) – Another D/F DPP that’s been scoring well lately (last 5 game average: 93.6). Only up $11k from his price at the beginning of the year.

Andy Otten ($261,800, 104, 71.40, 14) – 995 people actually jumped off Andy last week despite him getting named for the first time in 7 weeks. Wonder how those people are feeling now after he bashed out a 104 on the weekend?

Special mentions: Bachar Houli, Joel MacDonald, Alex Rance (2nd ton in 3 games), Andrew Mackie, Stefan Martin, and Nick Malceski (I reckon he’s bottomed out at $426k).

  1. Big plans to bring Hurn in this week were smashed to bits by Rough’s achiles and No-undy’s leg.

Massive weaknesses to exploit in my back half now with Hurley, Gibson, Heppel and Puopolo making up the last 4 spots.

  3. No Goddard? Or will he get a mention in the mids. He has finally bottomed out and will be a happy addition to my side.

  4. Having had Hurn all year… and majority being average… it finally looks like he’s turned the corner, I think that’s 3 good ones in a row. Keep up the good work Motts.

looking forward to reviewing your Mids, given I have Swan, Mundy and Selwood!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. What happened to Adcock?

3 terrible scores in a row (after he got like 5 hundreds in a row).

  6. Hey Pablo
Haven’t heard from you lately mate. How’s your nom de plume ‘SHANNONHIRDSADUD” going these days?
I reckon you might’ve traded him out 4 weeks ago for Adcock?

  7. Beware the MM curse. Best to recruit from the Special Mentions list as players named as Thrillers usually go down in the following week. 😆

  8. Who to get in this week? Hurn (currently have 1 player from WC), Newman (0) or Johncock (0)? I am thinking Hurn because of great finals run 🙂 would really appreciate feedback
