Motts Movers R15, 2012 – The Rucks

Written by Motts on July 9 2012

OK, so as you know, I struggle to get excited about the Rucks. We all know who’s gonna get top billing this week so why do I need to explain any further why he needs to be in your team?

So here are the Ruck Movers this week. As they say on all the stock websites DYOR.

  1. Does anyone know when sand is back, thinking of going Giles to griffen but dunno if that’s a good idea if sandi is back soon

  2. I think that the big man from the West deserves some serious acclaim. As you point out, Motts, not many people get excited about the rucks. His effort on the weekend though now puts him as one of only five active players to have multiple 200+ SC games. Well done, big fella.

For those interested, the list is:

    3 – G Ablett (254 vs Sydney; 206 vs Port Adelaide; 203 vs Sydney)

    2 – J Brown (262 vs Hawthorn; 230 vs Essendon)
Goodes (226 vs Adelaide; 223 vs Richmond)
N Riewoldt (203 vs Carlton; 202 vs Brisbane)
Cox (215 vs North Melbourn; 213 vs Western Bulldogs)

N.B.: Both Judd (197) and Hodge (196) have a single 200+ score and have gone oh-so-close to a second

  3. what about jake spencer from melbourne as a value pick? he is worth 113,200 scores of 43 and 55 on the bubble this week with a break even of -28 he isnt lighting the world on fire but his price will rise and u can cash in 1 of your ruck duds to free up some cap.

  4. Brent Stanton vs Matthew Boyd vs Jobe Watson vs Scott Thompson vs Sam Mitchell vs Shane Tuck vs Tom Rockliff vs Andrew Swallow, or anyone else around that price.
I can’t afford Ablett, so I can afford absolutely any mid except him.
    Thanks.

  5. Righto – best ruckman option under $520k?

    Considering any of:

    Ryder, Jacobs, McEvoy, Griffin, Goldstein

Will be playing second fiddle to NicNat, supported only by Redden and Campbell.

  6. Got Cox, Giles, Redden & Hamling (+swing option to Hale).

Giles scoring here on in is not looking great. As well as leaving as is, could:-

Thumbs UP: swing Hale to Ruck (& temp lose DPP) & trade Giles to Goodes

Thumbs DOWN: trade Giles straight out to a prem ruck with Hale still in forwards being DPP cover for Cox & new prem ruck.
