Are we still classing Buddy as premium after a woeful 61 on saturday?

  2. Andrew Walker from Carlton averaging 108 and still managed to pump out 100 plus in a woeful team effort against the Pies the other night

  3. A couple of PoDs worth considering if you require a upgrade for a Macaffer, Mayes, Dwyer and the likes…

    1. Angus Monfries – only in around 13% of the teams – averaging 91 with SD of just 16 – very consistent – 442k, reasonable BE of 89
    2. Matthew Stokes – this surprised me, only in 5% of teams – averaging 97 with an amazing SD of 14.88!! He’s a little pricey though at 477k – slightly high BE of 127 this week, but could achieve that against the demons

  4. Premiums:

Stevie J ($594k/av 116/ 122 be). Stevie is back. As the top averaging fwd and fwd/mid dpp he seems a must have. And geelong play at home for most of the season. Only downside risk is that he will be punished pretty heavily if he gets pinged again by the tribunal this year.

J Roughead ($550/101/134). Yes, his breakeven is a bit higher, but for those who have finally had it with buddy’s inconsistency he might deliver the goods. Last 3 of 145/112/92, with the last up against both the cats and the kennett curse. Ruck dpp a bonus for those with rowe on the pine.

Honarable mentions A Walker. Solid score in a drubbing by the pies.

Midpricers: Once again a lot of action with some lapsed premiums around this price point like Ryder, Cloke and Tippett all deserving a mention.

Boomer. B Harvey ($473/103/56). Out of his 8 games this year, 5 have been tons in a woefully underperforming kangas side. Age shall not weary them. Mid dpp.

Almost went Paddy, but for something not on your radar how about Nick Haynes. A near rookie price of $254 and a -31 be, he has scraped in scores of 74 and 114 since his return.

Rookies: J Daniher if named ($154/76/-58). Nuff said about this future star.

T Sumner ($184/48/20). Not gonna set the world on fire but if you need points off the bench he is consistently in the high 40s recently.

J Lamb. $143/30/-29. A bench specialist with 6 games under his belt. Last 3 of 17/78/39. You pays your money, you takes your chances.

  5. Premiums:

    1) Jimmy Bartel – ($533,600, BE 116, Avg. 109.50)
Those that do not have Jimmy Bartel in their sides are missing out. Bartel has been a consistent scorer this year with only two scores sub 90 (one being an 88) Not only has Bartel been consistent he has been a player that can produce some big scores 157 and 131 twice. As of this round against Melbourne, if not affected by injury he will score you 110+ each round. His SC Finals games will be Port Adelaide, West Coast, Sydney and Brisbane respectively. Buy him now.

    2) Jarryd Roughead – ($550,300, BE 132, Avg. 101.29)
Jarryd Roughead has had a strong last three weeks with his 3 Round Average being at 116.33, scoring 145, 112 and 92. Roughead may have a tough run to the end of the year playing Essendon, Collingwood and Sydney, however, if Roughead continues the scores he has been producing as of late, he will be a very unique player to your side.

    3) Andrew Walker – ($512,600, BE 129, Avg. 108.14)
Andrew Walker has been prolific SC scorer across the Blues’ half back line this year belting out 8 tonnnes this year with plenty more to come, playing teams such as St.Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Gold Coast in the future. Walker is also a DPP player so if you need some cover in your midfield as well he can provide that option as well. With Walker’s breakeven being at 129, he could quite possibly drop below $500,000 after this round, so if you want to save the little amount of cash you could wait a week.

    Midpricers:

    1) Patrick Ryder – ($483,300, BE 97, Avg.94.20)
In Ryder’s past three rounds, he has averaged 99.33 with scores of 101, 98 and 99. He seems to be worth his price averaging close to 100 and being under $500,000. Ryder;s run home may seem a bit tough however, take into consideration that the teams he is playing against don’t have a solid ruckman or ruckmen capable of shutting down Ryder, besides possibly West Coast, however he did score 98 against them last time they played. Also Ryder acts as a POD come finals with only 18,727 coaches owning him.

    2) Robbie Gray – ($374,400, BE 55, Avg. 73.55)
Even though Robbie Gray’s average doesn’t seem like a good one, he’s last three round average looks a lot better being 99. In those last 3 games he has played some quality opposition in Sydney, Collingwood and Essendon. Robbie Gray plays 5 teams that are in the bottom 8 as of now for the rest of the year with the teams in the Top 8 being Hawthorn, Geelong and Fremantle. One of the major risks of following through with Gray though, is that he is injury prone, so take him only if you really want him. With Gray being injury prone only 13,054 coaches biting the bullet to take him into their side, so he will act as a POD come SC Finals and could be a difference when it matters.

    Rookies:

    1) Tom Lee – ($147,300, BE 6, Avg.47.67)
Lee has only played the three games this year for scores of 59, 17(injured) and 67. Even though they have been fairly low scores in his most recent game he managed to kick himself 3 goals and if he can keep producing that he would provide bench cover for the rest of the season or make you some cash for an upgrade before finals.

    2) Xavier Richards – ($96,200, BE 39, Avg. 9)
I wouldn’t pick up Richards if you are relying on him to score you points, he won’t do that for you. Instead I would be using him as a swapping link with Brent Staker between your Back line and your Forward line with Richards being a DPP (DEF/FWD). This is the only reason I would consider picking up Xavier Richards.

Motts, all I have to say is – Well done for you writing this up once a week – every week, as it does take a fair bit of time out of your day, so thanks for helping everyone out, well done!

  6. Premiums:

    Steve Johnson $575, 400 Avg: 116.

The Cat’s mercurial midfielder is raring to go after missing with suspension against Freo and Hawthorn. He absolutely belts it out against the lower ranked teams on the ladder and check out his run: Melbourne, Adelaide, St Kilda, Kangaroos, Port, West Coast, Sydney, Brisbane.

Expensive, but if he stays on the field he could well worth it.

    Jimmy Bartel $533, 600 Avg: 109.5

Very reliable this season. Classy Jimmy has tonned up in all but 3 games this season. Doesn’t always go as high as Stevie J, but is a very reliable option up front.

Wait on: Dean Cox, Andrew Walker, Dustin Martin, Nic Naitanui, Cyril Rioli.

    Mid Pricers:

    Tom Rockliff $425, 500 Avg: 96.2

Rockie’s scores have been erratic, but that’s not entirely his fault. If he spends his time in the midfield he’s a bargain. Watch out for the teams because if Vossy pushes him forward he isn’t great value.

    Travis Cloke $466, 300 Avg: 98.9

Travis has been a focal point for Collingwood up forward. Games against Adelaide, Gold Coast and GWS to come. If he gets off the leash he could deliver some big scores. On the other hand, opposition coaches would probably want to shut his influence down. Risky proposition.

    Patrick Ryder $ 483, 300 Avg: 94.2

6 of his next 7 games in Victoria; plays GWS interstate. Scored 98 v Cox and NIc Nat.

    Rookies:

Look out to see if Tim Membrey is named. Could replace Sam Reid; but will have to get past Jesse White first.

  7. Great work, CT and Eagling. Very good writeup.

I think Jesse will get the extra tall forward spot for the swans.

  8. A Mid pricer worth some consideration is Jack Gunston, gets a little unnoticed with all the Hawk Forwards, but is averaging just over 100 in his last 5 in fact I think since round 8 as always been there about the Tonne.

Probably only thing to consider is what impact Cyril will have being back, but is playing a lot higher up the ground this year.
