traditionally speaking, $500K is the premium mark hence why Sir Dayne is not quite their yet. But i totally agree with the spirit of what you’re saying.

I rekon a player shouldn’t b classified as a premium by there price as the magic number changes yearly therefor prices r different. It should go by a players average. 100+ average is a premium. This year, like 2010, the magic number for price changes is 5000. Meaning a players 3 round rolling average has to b price/5000 to maintain there price. So a player worth 500k would have to have a 3RA of 100 to stay the same price.
In 2011 we had to fit an extra player 3 players into the 10m salary cap so the magic number was significantly different to make players cheaper

And they r this year. There r no others that r premium. Carrazzo is nearly there and rightly so. Personally I aim for 90+ average for fwds and defs in my team and for my mids I aim for a 110+ average. Rucks 100+. Most people’s squads don’t consist of players with these averages. But yeah surely some people would get confused if u don’t have a set average as a premium across your whole field

Nateo – Same problem many of us have with the ruck. Despite the majority going for Bell’s I think Pyke is a good option especially if Mumford is down. Last two trades will be valuable. The 1 prem and 3 rookie rucks has caught a lot of us out this season

I went the 2-0-2 strategy and my ruck department has only scored>200 once this season… Think that all ruck strategies have been killed by injuries and spuds all season.

I wana through some love to Porps for anyone show has stuck with him…. For a $200k player, he’s really come to the party…. Maybe he’s no Zorko, but to start pumping out tons at this stage of the season for a non-premium is not to be scoffed at.

Great call. I have held onto him thinking he will be reliable, but not great, coverage as F8. The timing of Buddy and Dusty missing from my team and Walker and Tippett missing from the Crows has been a godsend.
Going to be a tough call come finals time if my whole forward line is fit and Tippett is being rested against the minnows.

Weird isnt it ,had Porps on my trade out list for weeks , then Buddy went and then Ryder and then Waters, all of those I manufactured someone from my forward line to fill in, never had the opportunity to trade him out, and now his killing it, be keeping him now. Still not happy with Waters, there were big write ups stating that he was an LTI, so I traded him out to get Goodes (instead of a straight Porps-Goodes swap), With a bit of Luck Baguley will get dropped this week and keep him on the bubble, one for up the sleeve later on.

I agree with you on the Cloke coming good. I am going to stick with the Incredible Sulk & worst case move him into F8 for the finals.
At current price & trade situation banking on coming good & being good fringe players for depth is best bet for me. Glad pies came out with their statement yesterday, now clunk a few Travis & increase your bargaining power.

Beams an absolute gun and has been one of the best pickups. But to waste three trades for him is a bit much. Fyfe should be a good pickup, a good POD and should score around the same as Beams. Have a look at him this week then get him in if he is looking fit.

Reckon it could be time to put some high horses back in the stable. Ok, some people have been a little over eager in their search for some SCT wIsdom but coming into finals can be a stressful time of year. Just ask Clarko.
Repeat posts are annoying but you’ll probably find that a subtle nudge gets the job done just as well as YELLING and ranting.
Also, when it comes to people asking advice and going the complete opposite way to what the thumbs say, good luck to them. I’ve got a lot more respect for someone who will throw something out there but go with their gut than someone who will just bleet and join the dots in a cookie cutter team.
