Dean Cox ($568,400, 213, 129.18, 37) – Apparently he scored 120 points in the last 5 minutes of the match against the Dogs with his mark in defence, mark in attack, goal, and 2 hitouts. Goes to show why SuperCoach is so freaking awesome. Cox now has the 2nd highest average for the year (behind Pendles) and sits 3rd for value (behind Dal and Pendles). His last 3 games have yielded a 166 average. He’s in almost 46% of teams and 100% of the good ones. Only went up $54k last week and with a 37 BE in a game where’s he playing a team without a decent ruckman you can bet he’s going to crack the $600k mark this week.
Todd Goldstein ($515,900, 111, 114.94, 139) – Hasn’t scored less than 92 since R7. The 28, 165 coaches who have him must by now be wondering how they’re going to cover his output when both he and Petrie sit out the first week of the SC Finals.
Honourable mentions: Drew Petrie (great mark over a crumpling Laidler) and Sam Jacobs.
Mark Jamar – Not budging from the Chillers list with his 58 against the Cats.
Matthew Lobbe – Burst onto the scene with a 78 and a 118 only to follow them up with 66, 74 and 45. Lift!
Zac Clarke ($332,400, 110, 77.00, 5) – backed up his 118 with a 110 in a losing team. Word is that Sandi will be back next week so don’t go rushing him into your squad.
David Hale ($360,400, 100, 71.83, 54) – has been ticking along beautifully since Roughie went down. Scores of 89, 95, 96, 99, and 100 indicate that he’s scarily getting better!
Trent West ($279,200, 82, 87.33, 16) – I’m breaking with tradition to name a third ruck Driller this week. Trent’s now played 3 games for returns of 82, 98 and 82. You gotta admit, that’s pretty impressive for a $250k player.
Special mentions: Paddy Ryder (didn’t score all that well but his shutdown of Cloke for ¾ of the game was impressive), Rory Thompson, Scott Lycett, Tom Bellchambers, and Max Bailey.
