I only nominate 2 blokes in each category here because of the reduced amount of onfield positions. This is one of the weeks where I wish I could nominate more.
Darren Jolly ($493,200, 35.00) – I must have had every Collingwood supporter I know in my ear pre-season telling me how Jolly was a champion, that he was dominating intraclub hitouts, and that he scored almost 200 in a game last year. Haven’t heard much from them lately.
Dean Cox ($590,000, 45.50) – If you signed this bloke up at the start of the year thinking he’d kick if off like he did in 2009 you would be bitterly disappointed. Woosher says he’ll get better. The question is: how much money is he going to drop before he does?
Dishonourable mentions: Mitch Clark (only just missed out on being named above because of a slightly superior average), Troy Simmonds, Jesse White, and Josh Fraser.
Matthew Kreuzer ($421,100, 116.00) – I ummed and ahhed over whether to put Krooz or Clark in. Why didn’t I go with my heart and pick the Blues player? Now I’m tossing up on trading him in which would be wasted trade #1 for the year. Not a good start.
Mark Seaby ($287,900, 108.50) – Big ups to Seabs but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. He’s scored an 82 and then had one out of the box for 135. Take this as a word of warning if you’re considering dragging him into your team.
Other big fellas we’re loving right now: Aaron Sandliands, Mark Jamar, Brad Ottens, and Nic Naitanui.
I reckon that list is pretty complete but you guys know better. Who have I omitted?
