Motts Movers R20 – The Backs

Written by Motts on August 8 2011

Thrillers

Heath Scotland ($490,400, 133, 109.47, 89) – Dammit I would love to have this guy in my side. Nothing under 111 for the last 5 weeks.

Bryce Gibbs ($503,000. 104, 103.68, 109) – Continues his purple patch. Looking forward to seeing how he handles Subi this week.

Brett Deledio ($444,300, 115, 105.06, 81) –  Welcome back to Topline Thrillerdom Lids! 115 average over his last 3.

Honourable mentions: BJ Goddard, Nathan Bock, and Sam Fisher.

Special note to Mark Harvey – last week’s gratitude is officially retracted after you consigned G Broughton back into defense sending his score back into the doldrums. Nice work, champ.

Chillers

Nick Suban

Nick Malceski

Sam Gilbert

Drillers

Scott McMahon ($400,800, 183, 80.89, -5) – 22 kicks, 7 marks, 8 handballs, 6 tackles, 4 frees for, 1 free against – 183 points and a $55k price rise. Pity he plays for North.

Jed Adcock ($357,800, 108, 92.56, 41) – Looks back to his devastating, angry best.

Jason Gram ($353,500, 87, 76.13, 61) – I like Grammy. He faces Collingwood this week which’ll be a test. He didn’t face them the last time the two teams met in R11.

Special mentions: Alex Rance, Michael Doughty, Michael Hurley, Ash McGrath, Pearce Hanley, Dustin Fletcher, Jason Blake, Leigh Brown, Mark Nicoski, Dyson Heppell, Darren Milburn, Colin Garland, Jake ‘Stepladder’ Carlisle, Ben Jacobs, Tyson Goldsack, Sam Reid, David Myers, Jeremy Taylor (superb downgrade option this week after scoring 81 and 90 in his first 2 games – $103,600 – check the teams though – word is he could now be injured and out for the year), and Tony Armstrong ($289,800, 1 game for 86).

  1. Does anyone think the Eagles will rest some players (e.g. Priddis, Hurn). Since I’m going for league I’d like to bring some Eagles in, but I reakon some will be rested. Thoughts?

  2. little off topic, but does anyone else agree with chad cornes, that the current Collingwood team is better than the 2001-2003 Brisbane Team?

    Thumbs Up- Brisbane Lions
    Thumbs Down-Collingwood

  3. At least 200 people have already traded in young Jeromy Taylor (2 games with an avg of 85.5) from the Gold Coast this week. Doc Larkins reported on the Sunday Footy Show that he was getting groin surgery and would not be playing any further games this year.

Some people will never learn, will they? So just a heads up for all those thinking of bringing in a rookie backman this week.

  5. I am yet to discover what others seem to love about Hurn in SC. many recommend him but I am not overly impressed with his scores. If somebody has the time to enlighten me I would appreciate it.

  6. I don’t think I’ll pick any Fremantle players next year. Whilst I’m confident in my ability to pick talent, I have no confidence in the likelihood of Harvey playing that talent where it counts – in this respect he is the new Dean Laidley. Don’t know how much more Broughton could have shown in his various midfield stints, wish he would just settle Lower into a position and thank God I didn’t pick up Palmer as a cheap smokey at the start of the year. Looking for Michael Barlow to be played at full back next year.

  8. Mark Harvey = Muppet. Period.

He better not pull any of that Broughton to lockdown defensive role rubbish during finals. Idiot.

  10. For all the carlton supporters out there, heard last night from a fairly reputable source that Jordan Russel has told the blues he wants out. Most likely GWS have put an offer out there. Ratten said 2 weeks ago that he would not play anyone who intends to leave. Russell is fully fit and was named an emergency but played for the bullants.

In my opinion, if this is true… Jordan Russell should hang his head in shame. The blues dragged the #9 draft pick through 2-3 years of absolutley crap football by russell. Now he finally came good and he wants out… thats weak russell

  11. Alright, four trades left. Thinking i can wear Petrie and Swallow’s byes as i think they’ll score well against Freo, Saints and Rich in the final 3 weeks.

Thinking i’ll double trade this week:
    OUT: A Johnson & Prestia
IN: Bock & cheapie mid or fwd – hoping Callinan will get named as he’s the best mega cheapie. Will only take a bargain basement cheapie to save on moolah.

Like GC’s run home. Think they could snaffle a few wins actually.

With DPP’s etc… i’m confident my team will do well.

Hope selection doesn’t throw me a curveball.

  12. and to those discussing Broughton’s low score last week, SuperCoach form guide says that he had a corky from the week prior. Hopefully his score returns back to triple figures this week.
