OK so who floated your boat in the midfield last week? And who sank it?

  1. Nathan van Berlo ($415,600) from Adelaide has managed to compile 4 tons (107, 123, 109, 104) in a row since Bickley took over the reins, the new found freedom that he has from their more attacking game style is obviously helping his scoring…

Leigh Montagna has been having serious consistency issues this year, he has either been really good or really bad… might be a tempting/bargain price next year?

  2. I’ve gotta give a big shout out to Andrew Swallow ($475,500, 147, 110.55) who I brought in for Jimmy Bartel at the last minute. Top job, son.

  3. Had Boyd since the start of the year and he was beginning to worry me but redeemed himself bigtime. Also picked up Thommo when he was hot but then he went cold after I got him and he also came up big.
A little disappointed in Joelwood this year as I had him pegged for a monster of a season after GAJ left but I have been left a little underwhelmed TBH. He has failed me in a couple of big matches and got himself suspended so he is a fail in my eyes this year.

A couple of surprises to me this year were the two from Brisbane, Redden and Rockliffe. I didn’t think that they would be as prolific as what they were.

The two that I would have picked but because of the finals bye I didn’t were Murphy and Judd. I would have found a way to have all of Pendles, Swan, Murph and Judd for sure. I started with Pendles, Boyd, Selwood and Goodes.

  4. We have to give a thumbs up to Dane Swan who has just been outstanding in his consistency whilst his partner in crime Scott Pendlebury is just starting to struggle a bit. Looking for a cheapish midfield replacement? Well Andrew Swallow is your man and even though consistency has been a big issue for Swallow this season he should finish off strongly. U can’t stay away from Gazza who has just been awesome and will continue to be. He just keeps getting the ball and he has fantastic efficiency. The quiet achiever award this year has to go to Tom Rockliff who has now got 9 tons in a row probably one of the reasons why he is $510,100! Brent Stanton’s last few weeks have been very good but don’t even consider him with his bye. Van Berlo has been goo ever since the new coach has arrived with now 4 tons in a row and is pretty cheap. Big fan of Callan Ward and continues to get the job done. Jason Gram is as cheap as chips and will give you scores of around 80-100. Bit harsh mentioning Bernie Vince but has copped the tag for the last couple and has really struggled as an A grade midfielder. Most people have got David Swallow so hopefully he can get out of his purple patch. There is a lot to like about Alex Fasolo. Gone are the days where Jude Bolton was over 500k, this guy has been disappointing and needs to lift if the swans are to make the finals

  5. All my midfield is making me happy at the moment for various reasons. Some of them are scoring big, some of them are scoring solidly and consistently.

Pendles, Swan, Swallow, Boyd, Ablett, Priddis plus some of my MPP mids in Goodes and Gibbs (his absence this week will be felt).

  6. Montagna is killing me. I busted my last trade getting rid of Pav knowing he was injured. Was a great trade but now i have to deal with this muppet in my team for the finals…. Heath Shaw and Montagna seem to burn me every year.

  7. Like everyone else, guessing we all have a few Fwd/Mid omissions this week

Need to trade Sylvia ($367K) and Pavlich ($421K) and I have 100k in the bank

Fyfe (457k) looks good (should’ve grabbed him 10 weeks ago)
Rioli (455k) is interesting, but I can’t afford both and I’m worried about Hawks getting rested against GC in R24

    Who else do you suggest?

  8. Driller: Scott Thompson

i traded out Krak friday arvo for Thompson who repaid the favour with a massive 162 – AVG 109

  9. Here’s a question that’s doing my head in.

I have Judd in the midfield who has a bye this week.

    Can’t decide whether to:

Thumbs Up: Bench him (cover with I Smith or Mzungu) this week and slot him back in for the GF (v STK). Opponent has a solid midfield and Smith could be a weak link.

Thumbs Down: Trade him (2 trades left) and get Mitchell (v WBD, GCS). Is Mitchell the best option? Currently have Boyd, Priddis, Swan, Pendles, Ablett.

    Other ideas?
