Da Bombs
Nat Fyfe ($417,800, 117.25, -20) – Why didn’t I pick Avatar instead of McGlynn?? (Why didn’t I pick any other M/F DPP instead of McGlynn!) Nathaniel has only missed the ton once this year (when the stingy Cats came to town) but other than that he’s scored 117, 139, and then Sunday’s huge 164 against the hapless Roos. He’s avoided the second year dip, improving markedly on his 2010 average of 72.5. His price will go up again this week with a big negative BE but you may want to avoid him because of Freo’s R6 bye.
Sam Mitchell ($488,800, 115.0, 108) – He’s only played 3 games but I’ve gotta throw some love the way of Sammy coz he’s scored 122, 96 & 127. Apparently being able to focus solely on his own game without having to worry about the captaincy is good for the new dad’s scores. Another player with a R6 bye so you might want to give him a wide berth this week – especially with that 108 BE – but with the Hawks playing the Hats in R24, one that you should definitely be considering in the lead up to the SC finals.
Steele Sidebottom ($421,600, 95.5, 57) – Had a crappy first up effort against Port (56) but since then has logged 97, 94, and then a 135 against the Tiges. Don’t know if I’d consider a specialised forward at this price – I’d much prefer a DPP – but there might be some Pies supporters out there who like his surname and the fact that Collingwood will have both their byes out of the way by R13.
Honourable mentions: Pav (again), Brent Moloney (I told you so), Lingy, Lids, Heath Scotland, Josh Kennedy (of the Swans variety), David Mundy, Jarryd Blair and Ed Curnow (now BS isn’t giving him any RR love anymore).
Da Bums
Ben McGlynn ($391,100, 74.75, 129) – Has now dropped $43k since the beginning of the year compared to the 2 other prominent M/F DPP’s from the Swans: A Goodes (who’s averaging 103.5) and R O’Keefe (101.75). He seemed to be everywhere against the Cats on Saturday night but his clanger count must’ve been huge because his DT score was 87, his SC score was 61. Lift!
Jack Ziebell ($276,900, 46.33, 80) – Third year in and a lot of people are expecting more out of JZ than a sub-50 average. Time to step up this week, champ.
N Foley ($355,800, 67.75, 78) – Burdened with the weight of expectation, you wouldn’t normally find a $350k player averaging almost 70 in this list. But I bet the 23,620 people who have him would ship him off in a second if they were offered a free trade.
Special note to Kade Simpson
Thanks for pulling your finger out last week, mate. That running goal of yours in the last quarter was absolutely terrific. Don’t blame yourself for the draw – there was a ton of other stuff that happened before and during the game that contributed to the result. Jordan Russell overstepping the line on a kick-in resulting in a free point being one. The selectors inexplicably putting Henderson on the field instead of Walker another.

Here here on the note to Simmo!!!!!
Couldn’t agree more with every word spoken.
Worked up the courage to watch the final few minutes last night and it was almost as bad as seeing it live…….
That’s a lot of courage Leo. Can we stop talking about it now. 😥
Hearing you about Walker, Henderson. Henderson looked lost out at sea.
Thanks for the write up Motts. I’ve been thinking about Fyfe but with a load of Dockers already in my team (Sandi, Lower, Broughton, Pav) I fear I won’t be able to cover them all in the Rd 6 bye. By that time, Fyfe might be out of reach. I’d back him in to make more than -20 this week.
Another good point, looking toward SC finals, start thinking about how to stack your GF side with Hawks. A few to think about: Buddy, Rioli, Mitchell, Suckling, Burgoyne, Sewell, Gibson, Birchall, Hodge, Lewis…
@Omen reasoning? (sorry Newbie)
Now I know why you’re against a goalkicking shootout to decide a draw – you’re afraid Ratts was gunna pick Simmo to take one of the kicks. 🙂
lol…Im trying to let go …its a slow process Omen….give me time : )
I believe Omen is suggesting that you stock up on Hawks players because they are playing the Gold Coast in round 24. This means lots of points! Might even put Buddy as my captain! 😀
Danger, of course, is that they rest their guns.
SHIT – fair point Stevo
Actually, had a bit more of a think about and unless players have genuine niggles Clarko would be hesitant to rest them one week before finals. Wait and see how many teams struggle the week after a bye this year. Crows perfect case in point already.
I had Fyfe all last year playing in the forward line averaging 70 odd, This year I dont have him of course
ay this is a little off topic but…are any of you planning on putting goddard as vice captain this week for the loophole???
Ok hands up how many people thought Cameron “over the hill, can only tag, can’t run, time is up” Ling would get an honourable mention in Motts Movers? I thought so…good work you ginger headed champ!
This sites been pretty poor lately not enough good in depth articles still love what your doing hear but
What loophole would that be?
Agree THC, Lingy is back to 30 possies and running goals, whilst still doing a bit of tagging in his spare time.
That’s a bit harsh Rhys.
Good thinking Drewy. Him or Voldt could be a good option.
Leeroy – the loophole is when there is a partial lockout. You can select a player from a competing team as VC. If they score really well, then you make your captain a player that is not playing and bank the VC double points.
Can also work with rookies to a certain extent as well my naming them as emergency, but considering it’s a triple bye round, I think most people will be just covering them anyway.
Less whinging more homework Rhys.
Those spellings and grammatics are atrochus.
Be wary this week. Tends to play a massive tag on either Hodgey or Mitch. Unless he wants to do what he did to us last time and shut down both.
I’m still waiting for Rhys to finish his sentence.
It was one of the best games ive seen Simpson play, he scoots under the radar in the blues midfield :D. He is a great player.
Can someone tell me Wat the players price is going to be with there current average
You’ll keep Lion Heart.
Hahaha hmmff
Good point. That is a risk but then again, playing the Witches Hats is a rest. The way Hawthorn lead up to finals they’ll probably have to win this game with a big percentage. Don’t forget, Hawks have to make the finals first. For that matter, we all have to make the SC league finals first.
Correct.

Never trust a guy with no vowels in his name 🙄
huh?
I’ll have any money you like Demon Child for the Hawks to make the eight
Ive already said it a couple of times this year, but against brisbane and after a break surely goddard is due to smash out some rediculous score
hahahaha
they’ll rest there guns against the witches hats, wouldn’t go loading up on hawks just yet..
is there a record for how many people can dislike a comment?
Simmo was brilliant, but alas, I doubt he’ll see it that way. Why was Murphy literally standing on the boundary line anyway? The kick had to be perfect….and Garlett playing on? All he had to do was eat up time…
Gday Boys,
Anyone make the trade last week and jump on Suban?
Was about to trade out Andy Otten for Suban / Suckling but was just short of cash to make the trade.
Thank heavens!
