Heading North:
M Jamar ($396,900 , $+4,900 ($+9,000), 87.33) – Pop quiz! Who has the second best average amongst all rucks in the comp? I’ve give you a hint: he has a manly beard, plays for Melbourne, and scored 100 on the weekend. Gotta be worth considering if you are one of the poor unfortunate souls with Seaby or Ottens in your team.
D Hille ($338,700, $+15,600 ($+27,400, 68.67) – I might be a little early with this call but I’ve been accused of being premature in the past so what the heck. Admittedly it was against the 5’10’’ Hawks but he scored a 97 on the weekend. I reckon he’s just about to go on a run. Ottens is pretty much a straight swap for him too. And if you’re prepared to take the injury risk to put Ottens in your team, why wouldn’t you go with Hille?
Riding shotgun with these boys this week were Maric (who scored a 96), Cox (96), and Paddy Ryder (105).
Going South:
D Jolly ($367,800, $-3,000 ($-125,400), 55.67) – Averaged almost 93 a game last year. What the hell has happened? The grounds aren’t different, the ball is still the same shape down here in Melbourne, they still bounce it before a game and the big guys jump up and try to tap it. What in God’s good name has caused this guy’s form to drop off THAT much? I’ll take suggestions below.
J Fraser ($344,300, $-22,500 ($-143,400), 55.33) – Couldn’t resist the opportunity to bag both Carringbush ruckmen this week but with losses well over $100k each and both with scores under 50 last round they haven’t made it hard for me. Stick a fork in Josh coz he’s done. He may bust out the occasional ton from now until the end of the season like he did last week but they’re going to be too few and far between to justify the hair you’ll lose in the meantime as he racks up 36, after 33, after 27*.
* actual Josh Fraser scores from already this year.

Here’s hoping Jolly becomes 2011′s SC bargain!

What about Jude Bolton PA – he got one tap on the weekend! Can’t believe Motts not including him.

He should be in the Forward Movers too, after kicking a bag ( 2 ).

Given Hurny’s performances this year the VS people should consider a TPP rating next – kick outs, midfield and goalkicking. Phew, puts Judo and Murph to shame!

What’s your thoughts on taking Massive Cox? Do you reckon its worth the potential pain given there may be further groin complications.

I haven’t heard anything about further groin complications in the press, Deano, so I’d say yes its worth the risk. He’s a quality ruckman in a year when there’s not a lot of them about.
Disclaimer: I have Nic Nat and Krooz and won’t be considering him unless one or both of them go down (God forbid).

I’d steer clear of Hille if i were you. He’s in my team and while he’s posting good scores there is no way he will play every week. The likelihood of him getting rubbed out by the match review panel for 2-3 weeks between now and September is high with his approach to the game. Every week he seems to do something borderline Rhys Jones like.

I want to get Sandilands, but to do it i think I have to give Rioli the ass outta the fwd line and replace him with a rookie like Rohan or Fyfe. (but i already have hitchcock and Rockliff on the bench and Pods on the field) Then sell off either Hille or Nat Nat for Sandy… and pocket 100k change. Which ruck should i remove and will this leave my fwd line too light? keeping in mind rioli aint doing much.
fwd line is, Brown, OKeefe, Higgins, Ziebell, Murphy, Rioli and pods.
