Motts Movers R6, 2012 – The Backs

Written by Motts on May 7 2012

Premiums

Brett Deledio ($584,900, 121.17, 82) – Just keeps on keeping on. Stuck for a captain? Give Ol’ Bretty some thought.

Heath Scotland ($543,700, 101.17, 130) – Almost had his block taken off by Dean Brogan on Sunday but still bashed out a 93.

Midpricers

Beau Waters ($447,900, 94.33, 52) – Great average and has 3 tons on the trot to his name.

Marty Clarke ($344,900, 81, 40 ) – Bounced back from a 69 last week with a ton this week. Pound for pound has been a great pick-up this year and still great value.

James Frawley ($415,900, 84.40, 63) – Dunno about you but this one surprised me. Have never viewed Jimmy as much of a SC scorer but his last 3 weeks have been pretty productive: 91, 89, & 100.

Ryan Hargrave ($344,100, 80.80, 4) – Right up there with Marty Clarke in terms of value. If you had him you wouldn’t be disappointed. Last 2 weeks: 110 and 95.

Value Picks

Tim Mohr ($245,600, 70.40, -16)Saw this bloke for the first time yesterday and he’s MASSIVE. Jeffy Garlett had an extra spring in his step whenever Big Tim was around just because he didn’t want to get crunched by him. His 91 against the Blues was outstanding.

Tom Gillies ($220,600, 69.00, -2) – I couldn’t just leave it as one player in the Value Picks so Tom gets a call up. There’s better value elsewhere though.

  1. Just lost Sam Fisher and am looking at how to change too. Waters looks a good pick at similar value but I can’t help being tempted by an under-performing Jed Adcock. The Victorian has been a SC premium in the past does he have what it takes? Would love some help

    T/U- Waters (447,900)
    T/D- Adcock (432,000)

    Any other suggestions welcome!

  2. Brett Deledio seems to have taking his game to the next level this year.

Tough draw so far, but still averaging 120. I think he is probably the only must pick from the start of the year because of the small amount of decent options down back. I love watching him rebound off half back, rack up possessions in the midfield and even kick a few goals. Great player to watch. All this has come from a limited pre season. I believe strongly he will be the highest scoring back this year, and I’m sure I am not the only one. I rate him extremely highly. I think he is one of the best players in the whole league.
One word to round him up: GUN!

And no, i’m not a Biased Tigers supporter. I’m actually a bombers supporter.

  4. Supercoach should make a couple players Dual Position in 3 places, not in just the two. Brett Deledio kicks goals, plays well off half back and is a regular player in the midfield for Richmond. It’s a good idea 😉 #justsaying

  5. Judd gets Brownlow votes in games he’s not even playing in. He should totally be earning SC points whilst in the stands.

  6. And Clarke’s 69 was only due to a close (and superb) tagging job on Dal Santo. He still has legs at that price. Deledio – one of my favourite players, so nothing needs to be said. Lots of problems in the backline premiums though. Birchall and Fisher (when he gets back) will drop a bit. Newman hasn’t had any big scores yet – though I sense he was on his way against Port Adelaide till his shin injury – at least he is starting to get consistent scores – he just needs to knock out a few big ones. Concerns over how well Scotland will play in the slammer. It has been a bad SC year … 🙁
