Premiums
Scott Pendlebury ($634,800, 129.17, 100) – Yes he jumped up $21k last week after he got that 62 against the Blues out of his calculations but he’s still pretty cheap. Buy!
Dane Swan ($636,800, 119, 94) – The 180 he scored against the Dons is still pumping up his price. I’d hold off if you’re thinking about bringing him in.
Rory Sloane ($528,400, 110.17, 74) – In the last 3 weeks has scored 125, 121 and 125. Starting to deliver on the promise of his potential. Cheap.
Midpricers
Ben Cunnington ($395,600, 86.17, 24) – You’d be rapt if you’d selected him before R4 because since then he’s gone 98, 105 and 111. Jumped up $45k last week and is only in 6,876 teams.
Toby Greene ($299,700, 84, -13) – Yes he’s already gone up $153k but he’s still got further to go as evidenced by his negative BE. And on the basis of his scores over the last 2 weeks (96 and 99) he might even be a keeper.
Sam Lonergan ($400,200, 88.75, 0) – I like to throw a left-of-centre bloke into the midpricers. Someone that’s been performing well that you’ve probably overlooked. Sammy Lon is this week’s midfield LOC MP pick. Last 2 games: 101 & 142. Good run of opponents coming up too once the WC game is out the way.
Value Picks
You’re already well aware of Kyal Horsley so here are some others that caught my eye.
Jesse Stringer ($166,800, 63.33, -50) – Shot up $53k last week on the back of his 2nd game 87. Still scored 64 in his 3rd.
Jack Crisp ($147,900, 59.33, -30) – Also played his 3rd game on the weekend and eased out a 72 – his highest score so far.
James McDonald ($247,200, 85.25, -13) – Like T Greene above, he’s already shot up $140k but that doesn’t mean the ship has sailed. Super average for a $250k player.
Keep an eye on Liam Sumner ($151,600) too – he scored 92 in his first game against the Blues on Sunday.

Very left-of-centre choice in the mid-pricers there Motts, given Tom Lonergan’s a key defender for Geelong

Griffo had a poor start to the season due to a finger injury he got in a NAB match against the Roos in Ballarat. In his last two, he has smashed out an 155 (GWS) and 152 (Pies) and at $560K makes him great value.

that finger injury was the reason i went boyd over griffen. Boyd has been somewhat dissapointing i think

Guys a quick dilemma over the next two week period..
Wont expalin in in full depth and bore you all but will put a quick poll out there
Who would you rather get
Thumbs up – Zaha or Stevie J / Pendles
Thumbs down – Dangermouse/ Dal Santo ( and bring Pendles later in the year)

Steve J/Pendles is probably your best premium option but you would have to wonder at Zaka and Essendon’s run after West Coast. Stevie did well last weekend but was that only because Selwood was out? Up until last week Stevie was averaging 63 and take away Zaka’s 50 against GC then he is averaging 101. They both have a similar run against teams in and out of the current top 8 teams.
Dangermouse is a good get but Dal Santo is stinking it up bad this year.

Beware the Raines. Pendles to get shutdown this week.
Hot debate. What do you think?

That would be fantastic Motts…as Im getting Pendles next week in this scenario above ( using my second trade this week on Magner -Horse to make some money to afford him for next week)….so if he gets shut down I’d be very happy…Price stays at bay or slightly drops for me next week or even the week after if he really spuds it this week……

He’s the best tagger in the world, Gaz only scored 134 sc points on him while Joel (who missed 1/2 of the last quarter) scored 114. The guy is overrated imo and who’s to say he won’t be tagging Swanny anyway

Yeah that’s one Ive been tossing over all week Juddy….
I had Stevie J all year last year and he was good…But played midfield a lot more as he did with his 35 touches this week….I would have actually prefered to wait another week and pay another 20k for him if he got a good score but its a decision I have to make this week..You’re right did Joelwoods absense affect his score…Last year most times than not it didn’t….
Zaha leading just with Bombers also looking at this stage of going ok….but I will go to a poll on this maybe tomorrow once I decide which of the above options to go for….
Thanks for the advice

Will be interesting to see if all the talk of him spending less time in the midfield is just “blowing smoke” or not.

Taking in consideration of starting prices, who do you think has been better value so far?
Thumbs up: Pendles (700k starting, ave 129 so far)
Thumbs down: Swan (650k starting, ave 119 so far)

How about Taylor Adams as a “value pick” on the bubble and has averaged about 85 points ?

So if Garys named tonight reckon he will play or could be a late withdrawal?

Either could happen. I’ll put him on the ground in case he does play. If it were any team OTHER than GWS, I would probably leave the Captaincy off him for the week till I see how he goes, but best player in the league versus the worst team – it makes putting the “C” on him risky, but very tempting …

I don’t have him so if he is named I dunno if I should bring him in or wait

If you don’t already have him, personally I’d wait a week (in case he doesn’t play, gets subbed or reinjured, or isn’t playing midfield as has been mooted). It’s not like his price is going to go up wildly whilst you wait the week.

I knew I should have got Sloane instead of A.Swallow. But hopefully Swallow can get those big scores like he did last year and boost his average and price up a bit!
