Motts Movers R6, 2013 – The Forwards

Written by Motts on May 8 2013

Premiums

Stevie Johnson ($554,600, +$37,900, 113.25, 49) – Came back in R3 and started slowly by his standards with a 75 but since then has gone for 97, 160, and 121. Way to go Stevie! Has Port, GC and GWS standing between him and his R12 bye.

Nick Riewoldt ($569,900, +$56,800, 117.83, 52) – Hands up all those who doubted N-Roo at the beginning of the season *Motts sheepishly raises hand* Rooey’s having the last laugh as he makes all of us pay week-in, week-out. Average over the last 3 weeks? 125.

Andrew Walker ($546,300, +$122,900, 119.67, 62) – How’s that price increase? People laughed at me early on when I said I’d take Walks over The Hoff every single day of the week. Last 2 weeks for Walks: 124, 141. Last 2 weeks for The Hoff: 53, 48.

Midpricers

Jeff Garlett ($493,300, +$102,000, 105.5, 55) – This guy was just a whippet when he first started and I’m sure he had his doubters but jeepers look at him now. He just seems to get it this year. Average over the last 3: 121.33. And he’d be licking his lips looking at his next 4: Saints, Port, Brisbane and GWS.

Colin Sylvia ($436,800, +$3,400, 79.83, 71) – Had a woeful match against Essendong in R2 only scoring 21 which is why you can pick him up now for pretty much what he was worth at the start of the year. Last 4 weeks: 92, 103, 98 and 92.

Scott Gumbleton ($343,200, +$36,400, 89, 40) – In only 4,400 teams. A well documented history of back problems is the reason for that. But those that have him paid $300k for a player that’s scored 103, 65 and 99 in his first 3 weeks.

Rookies

Hayden Crozier ($219,400, 88.5, -48) – On the bubble after scoring 85 in R2 against The Dogs and 92 in R6 against Gold Coast. Maybe Ross is just busting him out against the easier opponents? If that’s the case, he won’t get another game until R9 when Freo take on Melbourne.

Aaron Black ($212,600, 85.5, -45) – Also on the bubble but has played 2 in a row against Hawthorn and Port and scored in the mid-80s both times. Looking at him up against HayCroz, I’d actually give him the nod this week if I was looking for a downgrade.

Sam Kerridge ($153,900, +$38,000, 52, 4) – You’ve missed his first price rise but he’s still affordable. The tagging role he’s playing doesn’t bode too well for the future but you’d take hope from the 70 against the Dogs and the 58 against Hawthorn.

  2. Nice to see you slot in the most popular expression in AFL player media training… “Well documented”….. Any time they don’t want to give a direct answer they say “it’s well documented”.
