Motts Movers R17 – The Mids

Written by Motts on July 19 2011

Thrillers

Scott Pendlebury ($565,900, 145, 128.53, 94) – I’m giving the title to him now: The 2011 PermaCaptain. Lowest score for the year? 94 in R3. Gun.

Dale Thomas ($527,600, 146, 113.86, 80) – Few would’ve been game to select him at the beginning of the year but he’s proved he’s the real deal. Averages 3 points a game less than The Inked One.

Nat Fyfe ($476,200, 138, 109.13, 82) – Anyone thinking he’d struggle at the SCG (myself included) is now thinking again. Went up $24k last week after his 4th ton on the trot.

Honourable mentions: Dal, Judd, Tommy Rockliff, Ryan Griffen, Swan, Callan Ward (starting to believe his own press?), Heath Hocking, Marc Murphy, Mitch ‘Kamikaze’ Robinson, Matt Priddis, Brett Stanton, Daniel Wells, Jarrad McVeigh, Domenic Cassisi, Scott Thompson, and Leigh Montagna  .

Chillers

Travis Boak

Steven Salopek

David Armitage

Drillers

Ricky Petterd ($371,100, 126, 80.50, 22) – I saw his potential at the beginning of the year and gave him a backline spot in The Maulers. Pity Bailey didn’t see what I was looking at – named him as a sub and didn’t play him for weeks on end. His last 3 round average: 106. On that basis alone, Bailey should be shot.

Stewie Crameri ($375,000, 102, 85.80, 62) – The Bombers are back and so is Stewie. 3 centuries in 3 weeks.

David Swallow ($384,200, 93, 84.36, 64) – Continuing to reward all those who resisted upgrading him.

Special mentions: Jimmy Bartel (gave you the heads-up last week and he went off for 123, he’s still under $400k with a 30 BE, what else do I need to do?), Kade Simpson, Joel Corey, David Zaharakis, Jack Trengove,  Leigh Adams, Jared Brennan, Stephen Hill, Jack Ziebell, Brett Peake, Bachar Houli, Steele Sidebottom, Sam Iles, Rory Sloane, Allen Christensen, Dion Prestia, Shaun Grigg, Danyle Pearce, Matt Thomas, Kieran Jack, Mitch Banner (98 in his 3rd game), Ben Johnson (not the drug cheat sprinter, 106 in his first game back for weeks), Ricky Dyson (86 in his 2nd game), Luke Parker, Andrew Krakouer, Matt De Boer, Rhys Palmer and Brad Ebert .

  4. On Callan Ward. Didn’t really know much about the kid as Doggies games aren’t really on free-to-air that often. Watched him with interest as he took on my beloved North. The kid can seriously play. Is he worth 1 billion dollars a year?? Well, no, but the Doggies will definitely miss his clearance work if he does head to GWS.

  5. What do people think about getting in Joey? must have been getting close to top 3 Thrillers?? 154! and he is still only 412,600. Reckon he is back to his best and will finish off season well. Dont really need him, but thinking about maybe bringing in for premium mid cover?? cover byes

  6. What about Luke Hodge is he not worth getting?

Would you go for Daisy before Hodge if you already had Pends and the inked one (Swan)?

    Thumbs up – Hodge
    Thumbs down – Daisy Thomas

  8. Anyone else getting a creeping feeling that Pendles and/or Swan will be either rested or subbed off during the third quarter vs GC??
