Motts Movers R7 – The Mids

Written by Motts on May 16 2012

OK I’m handing the wheel over to the Punters again. You guys know the format: Premiums, Midpricers and Value Picks.

One thing I will say is that Sam Mitchell is very, very cheap this week and with a BE of only 86, chances are his price is gonna head north again next week.

  1. If I didn’t have any I’d go Mitchell, Stanton, Thompson. In that order. Ablett has a high BE of about 180 so I’ll be getting him next week.

  3. Value Pick: Coniglio
Not one to pick up but is getting good points for those who have him and have not traded him out yet.

  4. I’m going Shiel to Mitchell. Waiting a few weeks for Priddis’s price to bottom out then jump on him. Then my mid field will be complete

  5. Premo’s:

Brent Stanton – this guy just keeps proving the doubters wrong and churned out yet another +150 score. He is 26 years old and has finally hit his prime. Consistency is a possible issue throughout the season, particularly if he cops a hard tag. If you have missed the boat and don’t already have him, dont stress! There are plenty of bargains out there ATM who are just as capable of producing 150’s – eg: Mitchell and dal santo at 100k cheaper.

    Mid Pricer:

Bryce Gibbs – at 468k Bryce has gone from premo to midpricer in a sluggish start to the season. At his best is capable of averaging 120, however the Carlton midfield depth has left Bryce playing the swing man role which has hurt his usual high possession count. I don’t think we will see Bryce this cheap for the rest of the year so if you don’t have the extra 35k for dal santo, get on him.

    Value pick:

Tom Couch – this guy would have to be the unluckiest guy on an AFL list. Keeps turning out 30 posse , best on field performances in the VFL but can’t seem to get a game? Surely this will be the week he makes his debut as the battling demons swing the axe. Priced at 91k and with DPP status … If named get on him!

  6. Hey Lads,
I’ve compiled over a million in saving the last three weeks starting with Ablett to Barlow when he went down.
This week I’ve gone Bugg > Delidio and will cut Shiel loose.
Have already M Murphy, Dal Santo, Adel’s good Thompson, and Barlow.
Burned Ablett so I’m committed to not bringing him in and have enough for another premium next week.

  7. Yes PA, this is the same Gibbs. Difference being I got him from the start at 570k (hence my frustration). If you actually read my piece, I have him as a possible good pick for the mid price range if someone’s team needed a mid Pricer. #PAalwaystalksshit

  11. Will Stanton be in the top 5 players come seasons end?

-Stanton has only scored under 130+ twice (93 and 71)
    -His average is 136
-Scored over 150 four times including a 180
-Played some decent teams and still got extremely high scores

I myself kept doubting at the start that he could keep this up but he’s proven me wrong. Considering even trading him in this week.

Thumbs up- Going to be in the top 5
Thumbs down- Won’t continue his form, not a top 5

  14. Two super premos from the past are looking very very tasty for next week.

Both Nicky Dal Santo and Montagna will be under $490k next week. Absolutely nuts price for NDS and I will def be bringing him in next week. Then Priddis the week after as he should be sub $450k

    Hell I’m excited!

  15. Going Shiel to Mitchell who is priced at a ridiculous low of 512k

Bugg will become Spurr if named that will leave me 400k to upgrade 2 forwards in the coming weeks

  18. Premiums
    Brent Stanton- $605,900 Avg136.7 Last 4:161,71,154,165 BE:52
WOW He would have to be one of the most improved players in the AFL.Stants has improved in every aspect of his game just watch his work rate he just runs all day and his reaping the rewards for all the work his put into his game if you dont have him now and want a premo that has proved himself as an elite midfielder this year jump onboard the Stanton Express
    Dane Swan-$656,400 Avg:122.1 Last 4:121,180,112,138 BE:148
This guy is a proven superstar of the game that consistanly notches up 100+ scores and notched up a lazy 180 on Anzac day.If you dont have him yet and want him i suggest try to hold off a couple of weeks with a high break even theres a chance you might be able to get him at a discount price. Now i just said that he’ll pull out 180.
    Ryan Griffen $599,000 Avg:113.5 Last 4:76,155,152,123 BE:91
This guys playin some great footy for the Doggies and should make his BE going by his current form.
    Mid Pricers
    Shaun Grigg $488,900 Avg:102.7 last 4:98,87,92,111. BE:96
Thought id chuck this guy in has pushed out 3 tons this year including a 148 and has a decent Avg for a mid pricer.
    Value Pick
    Kyal Horsley $210,800 Avg:88.3 Last 3:87,98,80 BE:-49
Its still not too late to jump on the Horse for a 1st year mature age recruit his been consistant in his first 3 games and theres still plenty of $$$$ to be made.

  19. Sidebottom has been huge, especially since Ball went down. I think i will jump on this week before he shoots over 600K. Is he now a must have?

  21. I am thinking:

    Shiel ^ Mitchell

    and

    Ellis ^ R.Murphy

I know Murphy will probably go down again with a BE of 109 but its all relative coz Ellis will probably go down with a high BE this round too….

    Thoughts??

  22. Decisions Decisions, I am hitting the trade on Shiel this week for Mitchell. But this really mucks my midfield around. S Thompson, Murphy, A Swallow, J Redden, S Pendlebury and Micthell. But in that mix no Ablett. He is a Gun you must have Perhaps Redden can put some games together get his price up, Ablett has a couple of downers then Trade him in. 18 Trades still on the table. That leaves me with Horsley and J McDonald on the bench to get me the cash.

  23. Yeah have them as well Bugg, Ellis, Bower and hopefully Townsend starts going.Want to also start soon upgrading my backline. Ablett break even too high this week redden only 80 something I think. I could get Ablett in now but have plenty of trades and a bit of a waste for cash. Wanted Bugg money so I can get Shaw or Scotland. Have currently Deledio, Goddard, Broughton, Hargrave and Clarke I will probably keep.

  25. Problem is Redden has let me down, he plays GWS this week so a reprieve. Mitchell so low cannot pass the champ up time to get him in my team. I had Redden targeted to hopefully keep price and be one of thoughs mids you hit the trade button on to get a pendles or swan. Ablett injured traded needed some wins so now he is the target for Redden. Brisbane Soft Draw start of the year, but just has not performed consistently.
