Bad news for Hartlett holders. Good news for Cox, um, holders.

THE AFL wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed the weekend’s matches. The following charges were laid:

Other incidents assessed:

Contact between Collingwood’s Quinten Lynch and Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell from the second quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. Lynch was running towards the bench when he bumps Mitchell, causing him to go to ground. A free kick was paid by the controlling umpire at the time, for the prohibited contact. After viewing all available video footage and receiving a medical from the Hawthorn Football Club, it was the view of the panel that the force used was below that required to be a reportable offence. No further action was taken.

Contact between Collingwood’s Tyson Goldsack and Hawthorn’s Jack Gunston from the third quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury gathers the ball and handballs forward. As Pendlebury takes possession of the ball, Goldsack shepherds for his team mate with a block on Gunston. It was the view of the panel the majority of the contact was to the body and there was no significant high contact. No further action was taken.

Contact between Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray and Gold Coast’s Luke Russell from the fourth quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Russell is trying to take possession of the ball and is down over the ball. As the Gold Coast player tries to pick up the ball, he kicks the ball forward as Gray is coming towards the contest from the opposite direction. Gray turns to the side to brace for contact and Russell ducks his head down and turns into his Port Adelaide opponent. It was the view of the panel that the contact was caused by circumstances outside the control of player Gray and no further action was taken.

  3. Hartlett dislocated his shoulder and in the game too, so the two weeks he can accept with an early plea, have come a good time for him, but at a bad time for those of us who own him. There’s also some doubt on whether Heppell and Hanley will play too. Plus Richmond play GWS this week who may rest a star or two (ie Cotchin/Martin) to freshen them up for finals.
