The AFL advises the Match Review of the remaining games from Saturday and Sunday of Round 13 have now been completed. The following charges have been laid with two other incidents requiring detailed explanation.

Charges Laid:

David Mundy, Fremantle, has been charged with Misconduct (Pushing player into path of an Umpire) against Robbie Gray, Port Adelaide during the fourth quarter of the Round 13 match between Fremantle and Port Adelaide, played at Optus Stadium on Saturday June 15.

In summary he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Misconduct (Pushing player into path of an Umpire). The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Dale Thomas, Carlton, has been charged with Striking Josh Dunkley, Western Bulldogs, during the second quarter of Round 13 match between Carlton and the Western Bulldogs, played at Marvel Stadium on Saturday June 15.

In summary he can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct with Low Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Kayne Turner, North Melbourne, has been charged with Striking Jeremy Cameron, GWS GIANTS, during the first quarter of the Round 13 match between North Melbourne and the GWS GIANTS, played at Blundstone Arena on Sunday June 16.

In summary he can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct with Low Impact and Body Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Luke Davies-Uniacke, North Melbourne, has been charged with a first offence of making Careless Contact with an Umpire (Nathan Williamson) during the second quarter of the Round 13 match between North Melbourne and the GWS GIANTS, played at Blundstone Arena on Sunday June 16.

In summary, he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Contact with an Umpire. The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

The following charges were laid from the first two matches of round 13.

Charges Laid:
Ben Stratton, Hawthorn, has been charged with Serious Misconduct against Orazio Fantasia, Essendon, during the first quarter of the Round 13 match between Essendon and Hawthorn, played at Marvel Stadium on Friday June 14.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was referred directly to the Tribunal and Stratton is not able to accept an early plea.

Jarman Impey, Hawthorn, has been charged with Striking Zach Merrett, Essendon, during the first quarter of the Round 13 match between Essendon and Hawthorn, played at Marvel Stadium on Friday June 14.

In summary he can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct with Low Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Ben Stratton, Hawthorn, has been charged with making an Obscene Gesture (Fixed Financial Sanction) during the second quarter of the Round 13 match between Essendon and Hawthorn, played at Marvel Stadium on Friday June 14.

In summary he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as an Obscene Gesture (Fixed Financial Sanction). The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Ben Stratton, Hawthorn, has been charged with Stomping on Shaun McKernan, Essendon, during the fourth quarter of the Round 13 match between Essendon and Hawthorn, played at Marvel Stadium on Friday June 14.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was referred directly to the Tribunal and Stratton is not able to accept an early plea.

The Match Review of Thursday night’s Round 13 Adelaide Crows v Richmond match at Adelaide Oval has been completed. No charges have been laid from the match and there were no incidents that required detailed explanation.

Incidents assessed:
The match day report laid against North Melbourne’s Ben Brown for contact on GWS GIANTS’ Matt Buntine from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Buntine takes possession of the football in the backline for GWS. Brown moves towards Buntine and makes high contact. It was the view of the MRO there was insufficient force to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.

Contact between North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell and GWS GIANTS’ Toby Greene from the first quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. The ball is loose. Greene and Ziebell approach the ball from opposite directions. Ziebell elects to bump Greene making contact which is predominantly to the body. It was the view of the MRO there was insufficient forceful high contact to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
