The AFL advises the Match Review of the remaining games from Saturday and Sunday of Round 17 have now been completed. The following charges have been laid with one other incident requiring detailed explanation.

Charges Laid:
Jordan Dawson, Sydney Swans, has been charged with engaging in Rough Conduct against Paddy Dow, Carlton, during the first quarter of the Round 17 match between the Sydney Swans and Carlton, played at the SCG on Saturday July 13.

Incidents assessed:
Contact between North Melbourne’s Ben Cunnington and Essendon’s Zachary Merrett from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The ball is loose on the wing. Merrett takes possession of the ball and is met by Cunnington. Cunnington swings his arm towards his opponent and makes contact with the ball. It was the view of the MRO that Cunnington’s actions did not constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.

  1. We all laughed when Mumford tried to transition from AFL to boxing, but I think we best put money on Cunners when he makes the switch!

  2. Agree Cunnington has been cutting a fine line over the past few weeks, however for the particular incident that occurred on the weekend, there was nothing in it. Would be bizarre to suspend someone for that. MRP actually got this one right.
