The AFL advises the Match Review of the remaining games from Saturday and Sunday of Round 21 have now been completed. The following charges have been laid with one other incident requiring detailed explanation.

Charges Laid:

Jack Madgen, Collingwood, has been charged with Kneeing Bayley Fritsch, Melbourne, during the third quarter of the Round 21 match between Melbourne and Collingwood, played at the MCG on Saturday August 10.

In summary he can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct, Low Impact and Body Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Incidents explained:
Contact between Geelong Cats’ Sam Menegola and North Melbourne’s Scott Thompson from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed.Kolodjashnij kicks the ball into Geelong’s forward line where it is marked by Thompson. Thompson is immediately dragged to ground by Menegola and high contact results. It was the view of the MRO that Menegola’s actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances. No further action was taken.

  1. What about Crouch’s hit on Sloane? Took him out with a high hit probably for a supercoach match up!
