My Captaincy Dilemma

Written by Duck on April 27 2012

So this week I’m up against Big Sexy …. who happened to VC up Dane Swan, which is a given he’ll keep.

At this stage I have Pendes with the VC, so i’m 80 points down from the get go. I’m tossing up rolling the dice and giving the BIG C to one of these blokes …. but which one?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. If you give it to Goddard and he scores 150, you’ll only have gained an extra 10 points than if you leave it on Pendlebury.

In 2010 he scored 150+ twice.
    In 2011 only once.

Such low odds that he’ll actually score 150+, so why take the risk for an extra 10?
    Stick with Pendles.

  2. I’d stick with Pendles Duck, 280 for your C is very solid score.

Bear in mind if Goodard was playing under the roof at Etihad, I would have gone him…..at the “G” on a wet day, Pendles 280 is a better option IMO!

  3. Also bear in mind, as much as Murphy is arguably in career best form. He’s only scored 150 once, and that was in Rd 1 2009 against the Tigers. Sticking with Pendles is a no brainer, considering the level of risk for the extra couple of points you’ll get on the unlikely event it pays off.

  4. Are you truthfully considering Michael Johnson as a captain?? He’s only topped Pendles score of 140 3 times in his whole career and i’m tipping that he won’t be scoring like that agaisnt Motts’ Blue Baggers.

  5. i would consider delidio. if i have learnt anything whilst supporting the coasters my whole life than i would have to say it is that they play good players into better form. as a side note jack reiwolt for most goals in the round, for the same reason above

  6. Its Captain choices that can make you or break you in supercoach. Got a load of choices but Pendles 140 is high enough to keep.

Murphy might have a low scoring affair if Crowley tags him into submission. Goddard looks like he could rip into the Dees after an ok game last week. Adam Goodes could be a chance to hit huge numbers during his Swans all time games holder record breaker match against the Hawks.
Buddy is always an unpredictable threat as Captain. Could give you a whopping score or below ton disappointment.
You must be a punter Duck if Michael Johnson gets a nomination lol

But yeah…. Stick it out with Pendles. Hopefully your POD’s will get you thru your match.

  9. I think here is only two genuine options here, keep Pendles score which is the sensible option, or, if you’re a gambling man give it to Biddy and hope he kicks a big bag which we all know he will do at some point.

  10. 140 anyday Duck. He may have a rookie late withdrawal, which could see your guaranteed 280 points get you over the line against a potential sub 100 score from the others.

My dilema, went with Watson and his clanger kicks as my VC, so would love some advice on my captain selection. Opponent went Stanton as C, so i’m infront with Watson, but think I should definately try for more elsewhere.

    Thumbs up: J. Selwood
    Thumbs down: Goddard
Comments: Delideo, Hmac, Buddy, Dusty, Scotty Thompson, Fyfe (surely not…).

    Thanks.

  11. I have an interesting dilemma. I gave the VC to Pendlebury and I’m happy to keep his 140/280. However, I have given the Captaincy to A Kennedy from GWS. If Kennedy doesn’t play, and I have an emergency who does, what will happen?

For example, if Smedts plays as my forward emergency, will I get his score, doubled as my captain as he’s on the bench covering Kennedy?

  12. I’m up against BS too, so I rolled the dice with Matthew Boyd…course I also pulled in Michael Johnson at the last minute and he soiled the bed, but at least it was against the mighty Blues!
