Waters on field is a problem for me. Has hardly played in 2 years because of persistent elbow injuries. If you’re going to risk taking him on, bench him. Slattery is cheap but I haven’t heard much about him – game time may be a problem.

I’m in 2 minds about him. Want to see him play before making a decision. He’s a lanky sort of bloke and knees can be a real problem for them. Could be a risk but by the same token, could be a real bargain.

Sheppard is a back flanker who rakes up the posi’s. may take wirrapanda’s position on the field. will need to watch him closely in the NAB cup, my back up plan is Shoenmakers although i’m a tad worried having Hodge, Ladson and Shoenmakers all in my backline from the one team, only time will tell!

Atkinson wasn’t even on my radar, tappy, but with that average (80.45) he’s demanding consideration. Haven’t heard anything about Sheppard either – what’s the good oil?

My Backline at this stage goes:
Goddard, Hodge, McPhee, Waite, Atkinson, kennelly, Sheppard
Em: A. Moore, J. Dare
I picked Atkinson at $343′000 as I feel he may have cemented a spot in Essendon’s backline, and they will put the ball in his hands a lot. I’ll watch him over the NAB Cup and see but he is one of my money makers hopefully!
